I'm legitimately fascinated by your commitment to continuity. To go to the trouble of washing your clothes _that regularly_ just to keep the same outfit for every day so far this month is admirable. Stuart even managed to put that sticker back in _exactly the same spot_ for several days! Even just the act of keeping a set pristine between takes is difficult, and yet here you two are, going above and beyond with effort. That's dedication right there!
Shoutout to Debbie, our continuity director for this shoot.
I believe he just wears a hat on the train to cover up the stickers.

Dan told Stuart the bit about the MASH theme back in the 2018 calendar, Stuart said they’d probably forget that piece of trivia and low and behold they have five years later!
It's come up a few Advents now, it's part of the canon. See also the random "day X in the Big Brother house" in a Geordie accent and also the upcoming n-n-n-n-nineteen

I honestly can't say how long I have been watching Stuart, it's been an incredibly long time though! I remember I was sad when he first did this with Dan as I thought it'd ruin it, but now I can't imagine Dan not being there! Like you I look forward to this every year! It's just such a nice daily thing!
mine too and every Christmas day i watch them all. it's been my tradition since the start .
I found Stuart through one of Dan's "mystery video" links way back when he could still do those.

The Barbie calendar seems like they just threw in whatever they had lying around
mattel just swept the toys off the factory floor and boxed them up.
Well, that's most Barbie products, I think, so at least they're consistent.

Only partially true. The song's lyrics were written by Michael Altman, son of the film's director, Robert Altman (allegedly because the latter wasn’t able to come up with anything absurd enough himself). The music was by longtime Hollywood songwriter Johnny Mercer.

I've been thinking that for days now. The entirety of the Barbie calendar has no consistent theme. A table that doesn't fit her size. Shoes and a mermaid dress.
It seems to be all assorted overstock. Just junk in a Mattel warehouse.

The dragon and unicorn together makes me think the Barbie calendar was trying to create its own version of the Twilight Sparkle and Spike duo but was far less consistent

I'm honestly quite impressed with that military calendar. I expected it to be like the first few days and mainly weapons but amount of figures and vehicles as well 😮 as you previously said a younger boy would be over the moon with having that.

How to make the OFAH calendar even a tiny bit better.
Instead of stickers have two double-sided Trivia cards. By the end of Christmas you'd have 24 cards with 48 pieces of trivia. Still minimum effort, but at least slightly relevant.
I think the worst part of this all is, for some of these calendars you could say you don't enjoy them as much because you're not in the demographic they're targeting. The Barbie calendar looks of poor quality, but a little girl might still find enjoyment in it, and the Woozle Goozle calendar doesn't look bad at all, but suffers from the fact you can't read German and don't have the time to do the associated experiments. The Only Fools and Horses calendar though? You guys clearly like the show, so you're the target demographic, and you still don't like it, which is why it's definitely the worst of the four this year.
Nah mate, they're not the target demographic for the last advent calendar. It's targeted only towards fools and horses, and they're neither as far as I'm aware.

The true winner of this series is Stock Footage Girl, who clearly doesn't want to be there either but is at least getting a decent paycheque.
It's a new girl now. Clearly the first one ate all the crisps and buggered off somewhere, and this girl has come to the sofa and gone "Who ate all the crisps?!"

Even though the army guys have a pretty high quality compared to your average advent calendar, I'm getting pretty bored of seeing Generic Army Man Lookalike #42 at this point. For me this matchup was a pretty clear win for Dan.

But like I said I'm just sick of boring army men that all look the same, and the glitter dragon thing is interesting enough that I would give it the win today. If it was earlier in the calendar with one of the earlier army men I definitely wouldn't give Dan the win.

Stuart has actually trapped Dan in a time loop, he just hasn't realized it yet.
This is the 3rd or 4th time that mash fact has been talked about in Advent history and at one point Ashens remembered that they talked about it before.
And it's been on Barshens too I believe.
Just looked at the amazon reviews for the OFAH calendar. i'm neither disappointed nor surprised.

I know this is counter to the spirit of the whole thing, but I'm actually pretty impressed by the military guy calendar. They may be cheap GI Joe knock-offs, but I would've loved that as a kid. They look pretty Joe-scaled, too, so you could them with your existing stuff. Even without the figures, the weapons and vehicles make it.
Kinda wished Ashens kept adding the stickers to his head

The MASH theme song was written by the British Director's son, of the Movie. The Director needed a song and asked the child to come up with something "STUPID", director didn't care for the lyrics just needed a song... I don't know or remember if he the director forgot at the last minute and the son spat that gem out. Since I think MASH the series had a different director/producer, it was clearly of the same MASH the movie family, but not the same creative force. I don't know. Watched a video on this once like 10 years ago.
