Life of a Woodsman - Scouting For Fur and Food

- My food supply is starting to dwindle and if I plan to keep myself full throughout the remainder of this trip I'm going to need to begin harvesting more food off of the landscape. Today I'm taking a long hike to scout for potential food sources. I'm hoping to find some good places where I can begin trapping and some new areas to hunt as well.
Thank you to everyone who watches! - Розваги
These videos are quite informative but please make the longer overnight camping/bushcraft style videos too.
Those will be coming soon! Thanks for watching.
really enjoying this ongoing series of short videos. They’re all really informative, distinct, and well-edited. Keep ‘em coming!
More coming soon! Thanks for watching.
This was awesome. Cheers, and God Bless! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🇨🇦
Thanks for watching. God bless you too!
From a selfish point of view, I wish you could bring a long video out daily. Love your channel after all these years. One of the best 🙏🏻
I wish i could too. It really just comes down to the amount of time it takes to film and edit all the video. Maybe one day I'll figure out a system that will allow me to upload full-length videos more frequently. Until then I appreciate your continued support! Happy trails.
Always great content!
Definitely found some viable locations, should have some good luck soon. Self sufficiency may be your only alternative unless you leave to re-supply which I suspect is not in your plans. Thanks for the update. See you soon.
Putting a lot of your years of bushcraft experience into this series sir. Really enjoying the details being provided to make and keep a camp working and comfortable. As well as harvesting the area for food. Have said it before, pretty sure you are outside the delivery range of Door Dash, or the nearest pizza or burger joint!😂👍
Haha yup I might have difficulty getting pizza delivered out here. Thanks for tuning in!!
❤ it! …. can’t wait for the next video.
A good day out scouting! Good luck with the trapping😁
Thanks for watching!
Good hunting
Great job Ryley!
Thank you for watching! I appreciate the continued support my friend.
Would you consider making a video of how you sharpen your knives and hatchet ? And what firearm(s) do you hunt with . And carry for self defense against 2&4 legged predators? Thanks for the awesome videos. Just found you yesterday. Been binge watching lol . GOD bless ! 🙏💕
Perhaps in the future I will show my methods on sharpening. Although I really don't do anything special. Sharpen and strop, that's about it.
The rifle I'm carrying is a Chiappa Little Badger .22 Magnum. It works excellent for small game hunting. I've never had any issues with wildlife but I'm hoping this little rifle and my bear spray would be enough to deter any dangerous animals.
Thank you for your support. God bless and happy trails!
Very cool place your at.
maybe you will make video about how to wear in winter? For really cold temperatures
Nice. Looks like you are hunting with The Chiappa Little Badger, in 17 HMR If i'm not mistaken.
I was wondering that also . 🙏💕
It's the Chiappa Little Badger .22 Mag. I quite like it for hunting small game. Thanks for watching!
@@KuskBushcraft I didn't know they did them in .22 Mag. Cheers 👍👍
Hello I know I have asked before but what boots are you running, whites Nicks JK?
Love your content.
Recently found your channel and subscribed. Interesting looking firearm. What is it?
Interesting. I've never tried beaver meat. I wonder what it tastes like.
🇺🇸 USA
👍👍™️
What rifle are ya carrying looks awesome
Chiappa Little Badger .22 Magnum
Beautiful boots, may I ask what brand it is? Thanks
Irish Setter Elk Tracker boots. They are quite comfy and work well in these mild fall temperatures. In my own opinion they aren't worth the price tag. Once the temperatures get below zero they don't offer enough insulation to keep my feet warm and they do not have a removeable liner which makes them difficult to air/dry out. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
Had to stop and view this, I’m always scouting for some fur and some food….
You and me both!
Where is this river you speak of?
Beaver steak? Or pelts?
Or both?
Those stumps look sawed off
They did. I never seen them cut by a beaver like that. Here in Alabama, they naw them off to a point like an arrow not flat like a saw cut.
@@JJ-JOHNSON Big stumps, yes, but small twigs like those are bitten through in one go. Don't underestimate beaver teeth, they can take your finger off.
I have never seen saplings chewed off with one swipe like that. That’s a blade or saw cut.
Beaver can do that to small trees and saplings in one or two bites, those are definitely beaver-bitten.
They clearly have teeth marks running across the face of the cut…. With bigger trees they chew from all sides but smaller ones just get gnawed off on an angle… rather hazardous to ATV tires, ask me how I know 🙄
Is there fish in the river?
Yes, but fishing season is closed for this area. Thanks for watching!
Didn't even know beavers were edible. What do they taste like? I'm imagining a muddy, fishy taste? Since they're in water so much, I mean.
Hard to really describe what it tastes like. Depends on how it's cooked.
Just so curious!! It must be hard yes!!! But us it really toooooo hard to do video without tent and making it only with nature.
You get 10million views plus whenever u upload those kind. (Without tent) and so why not upload more like those ????? Or not a full time youtuber?
He ain't going to read my comment anyway 😂😂 if u did please like my comment so that I know u did😂
I do what i enjoy. I don't worry about the views so much. If people enjoy what I do then great...if not then maybe they'll enjoy the next one. A life in the outdoors is all I'm after.

Looks like he is taking a dump finally in the thumbnail but no
I keep getting unsubscribed. Had to re-subscribe twice this week.
Sorry to hear that. I appreciate you returning to the channel!
Please don’t kill any beavers! Try fishing instead.
Cut the beard. Cut the beard.
I did not know one can eat beaver 🦫
You bet! A lot of trappers have made it through the winter living off beaver meat.
