L.A. FROCK STARS follows Doris Raymond-the Indiana Jones of vintage clothing-
as she hunts down rare and fabulous pieces for her LA store and celebrity clientele. In the world of high Hollywood fashion and movie stars, Doris is an icon. Her tireless and passionate search for the Holy Grail of vintage finds has caught the attention of every retro-loving rock star, stylist, and celeb.
Her regulars range from the average vintage enthusiast to stars like Angelina Jolie.
Doris trawls through high-profile Hollywood estate previews, discerning pickers' collections, and auctions all around the world sniffing out vintage treasures. Zsa Zsa Gabor's people have already contacted her to sift through 8 decades of decadence. Film and TV costume designers have Doris on speed-dial when they're gagging for stylish period clothing, as do most of LA's top stylists and designers. They are all desperate to give their clients a new look, even if it's a classic look from the past.
Nobody wants to tread the red carpet in runway couture anymore-it has to be more special than that! It needs a story, and at The Way We Wore, almost everything has an incredible backstory (David Bowie's platform boots anyone?)-so even if you can't make history, at least Doris can let you wear it.
Backing up Doris is her wacky and wonderful staff. They're specialists at matching a rediscovered treasure with a potential buyer. Everybody knows that in this store you don't always pick the dress; Doris and the dress pick you. The beating heart of vintage fashion can be found in The Way We Wore, Doris Raymond's fabulous boutique, where her team of FROCK STARS put the "glam" back in glamorous.
