I couldn’t buy anything I love knowing I will just be leaving it behind….I think it’s very difficult for Carole to give up her dream, love, and passion for the chateau….so sad….
Continuing improvements-the difference between what things were like when you first arrived and what they are now is enormous! There is a bittersweet note to all your vlogs now, but I wouldn’t want to miss a single one!
Thank you 😊
This just killed me. When you Mom said " never mind..." and walked away with such sadness in her eyes. This just breaks my heart. But I do understand your situation. With great love from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤
I know right...😢
I just keep hoping it’s all a bad dream😢
The same here…😔
Me too. I can’t imagine anyone taking over and doing such a beautiful restoration.
Me too!
Me three.
Adrian, you hardly need another chandelier when you have a beautiful wife and daughter who both light every room they enter!
So true!
You won the internet for the day ...Stellar comment!!! 🌟
I am so sad that you are selling the Chateau. So much love and work has been put into it. You both deserve to live in such a lovely place. I understand you reasons for moving back to the UK but surely there is some way that you can keep the chateau as well. The chandelier that you seen would have been spectaculer in the hall. You have great taste.
I love seeing Terry and his family hanging out with you guys. It’s just nice seeing all of you together.
I'm genuinely so sorry you have had to make the tough decision to sell. My heart goes out to you both.Your stoicism and positivity are incredible. You have saved a truly remarkable and beautiful building. I believe no other couple, would, or could, have achieved such a high standard of restoration. Whatever you two put your minds to in the future I've no doubt it will be an amazing success.
Thank you so much!
I still have hope that somehow the chateau stays on the hands of Adrian and Carole. They worked so hard to bring it to the stage of restoration that it is today. If it sales to a new owner they probably will complete the rest of the proyect, but it will never be the same as done by Adrian and Carol , because they did all the work themselves, with a lot of love and hard work and great taste. ❤
Thank you 😊
I'm sorry you have to move and can't keep the chateau. I'm also sorry for me because I've so appreciated watching the attention to detail that you've lavished on the project. I sincerely hope you can share redecorating wherever you wind up in England with all of us, but this phase of things is quite sad. That chandelier would have been so perfect.
Yes it would have been!
I wish you could get someone to house sit until you can return. It is so heart breaking to see how much love you have into the chateau.
Or even have someone run it like a Bed & Breakfast & start making money from it ...someone like Bethany perhaps.
I’m in tears watching this , don’t think I can watch anymore it is sad that you are leaving and we will never see the chateau finished. You are my favourite Chateau and so hardworking . I understand that family comes 1st.
It was a fun trip to the brocante! I agree, a lot of money if you are selling. I am sorry that you are faced with somewhat tougher decisions now that you have new plans. Just keep reminding yourself that the new house in England will need lovely things too, and you will enjoy having the money to buy for that house!
Such a shame your leaving I was really looking forward to seeing it all more or less completed 😊
Omgggg am I going to miss this renovation project. I’m still hoping for a video with the news that you are staying. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think you should go ahead and get the chandelier you like, it gives wow factor to the space and will help you sell it, if you are indeed going. That's the first impression when you come in... . There are no second chances for fist impressions........when you fall in love with a place, something has to hit the right spot with the buyer right away......you will then have 2....the hall, and the Salon......just saying. Somehow, I have a feeling that you will get to stay......don't ask me why, cause I don't know.....but I do have a feeling.
I love that chandelier! It is the right one! But geeze,,I get it😢
Easy to spend other people’s money 🙂🌸
Some times when it's right, it's right. I know family come first, with me too. But don't spend money on a chandelier that give no BANG, no WOW, and an underwhelming first impression, when you are trying to impress your buyer. Scrimp somewhere else when it really won't make a difference.
Hello! My husband and I were in Europe in July and being fans of yours and Adrian’s we drove by your chateau. It was so much fun to see your home (from the gate of course) and visit the town. Unfortunately it was some sort of holiday and everything was closed but we still were excited to be there. Upon our return to our home in Ohio we found out you were selling the place. We totally understand putting family first and wish you well on your new adventures. I hope you continue your UA-cam channel and we will certainly be following!
Such a shame we did not see you both but Thank you for your support ☺️
It’s easy to see your enthusiasm has waned. I don’t blame you.
I know just how you feel. I’m 77 and trying to decide what I’m keeping out of my 5 bedroom 2 den, living room, dining room , breakfast room home and my lake house furniture/China, crystal and move into a more manageable place. Many days I just sit and do nothing because I love everything I own and don’t want to have to sell anything. Your situation in reverse. It’s awful. I loved that chandelier and it is perfect. Enjoy seeing y’all.
dont know why but its so heartbreaking to watch the videos knowing that you will eventually leave the chateau behind, i wish you could stay and show us what you could do with it and how it will look in the end completely decorated
I ❤ that you are all lovingly continuing on with projects. This is obviously bitter sweet but as you said when announcing the life changes ahead for you all nothing is nailed down as of yet. If that Chandelier wasn’t so darn expensive I am sure you would have done the deal. Best of luck moving forward!! I will watch every episode and cheer you on!
Thank you 😊
That place had outrageous prices. It breaks my heart to hear Carole’s voice crack about not staying.
It breaks my heart you are leaving… you have worked too hard and we all want to see you complete the dream! Build a kitchen! Decorate the home!😢
I loved Adrian’s Vanna White impersonation!💕
My heart hurts thought of you selling❤
Love that the new heating is being installed that should make it easier to sell the Chateau. When are we going to see a video of updates taking place in your UK townhouse?
Not until we’ve sold the chateau and permanently moved there
The chandelier was certainly very special
Oh go get that beautiful Chandler to finish it off ! Your heart is telling you to !
I am so sad that you are leaving the chateau and I agree Carole that chandelier was amazing would go well in the hallway, great work once again Adrian still putting into the chateau take care and see you soon 💕🌼🤗
Adrian, very impressed with the new heating system and water heater....so much more efficient and will save $$$. Well done and so glad for you and for whoever purchases the chateau.
Go for it ! Buy the chandelier, enjoy it while you're still living and working in your beautiful chateau. 🤩
Just a touch of sadness for me today watching you all at the broconte, but selling up and returning to family is so important. I adore my six grandchildren - I don’t think I will be getting anymore - and still remember when they were born and getting to know them, their first smile and when they wrap their little hands around my finger, such happy memories. It will be so worth it when you welcome your little granddaughter.
I never thought I'd get so torn up about a chandelier someone else was looking at 💔 I can only imagine the heartbreak for you all. Beautiful shops you went to though, absolute treasures all around.
I am going to miss you and your channel so much, when you sell the chateau. You are amazing company. All the best to the whole family.
Thank you so much!
Я тоже буду скучать😢
That is such a fabulous brocant, filled with treasures...Terry and Ash will miss you dreadfully.
We will pop back to see them 😊
I think the chandelier you already have suits your hallway really well, I wouldn't change it.
Go fir it you'll regret it if the chateau doesn't sell. You know you wanna!
Buy the right chandelier and tack on the cost to your asking price for the Chateau. Besides you might have to live there for a while yet, so have what you really want.
Such beautiful chandeliers. Sounds like your new installations will be more economical and energy savers. Bringing the chateau into the 21st century. I keep hoping that you can find a way to bring your business into France and continue in England as well, by hiring someone to run England for you. But just my wishful thought. Anyway, sending hugs. xx
...or someone to run the chateau!
@@kindlydude ❤️
You are doing a great job of it. Hard the chandelier you wanted was gone
Sure hope the chandelier that you wanted will show a price reduction soon. Your new heating system and water heater are great investments. I hope you will notice a big change this fall and winter in the chateau, please comment and let us know. You are all so terrific!!
I feel so bad that you have to sell! You are one of my favorite. I live in the us and I wish we had this kind of history. You both are amazing and I hope the future hold bigger and better things for you!
There was this era in American history called "The Gilded Age" ...ever hear of the mansions in just one city, Newport Rhode Island? The Breakers built by Cornelius Vanderbilt, and Marble House built by Alva Vanderbilt are some of the most opulent Chepstow, ...also The Elms, Rosecliff, Chateau sur Mer, and Ochre Court are just a few more. You could spend a month there and still not see everything ...& that is just ONE city in the U.S. Just type in a city & "mansions" in your search engine & you'll come up with thousands and thousands of examples of beautiful & sometimes over-the-top expressions/mansions of The Gilded Age. They even made a documentary about "The Gilded Age" recently. (specifically type in... "pictures of historic mansion in name-of-city") In my hometown there is an over-the-top mansion as big as some of the country estates of England ...it's called "Philbrook" & it is now an art museum. It was built by the oil tycoon Waite Phillips (his wife's maiden name was 'Brooks'. Here is just one website for Newport R.I. ...below
The way I see it, you should enjoy the chateau, within reason, as long as you have it. If there is anyway to afford the chandelier you really want, buy it, so you can look upon its beauty for the time you remain, which could be a few month to a few years. Getting something tha'st just so-so, well you might as well keep what you have and totally save the money. It really doesn't look that bad, it doesn't distract from the chateau vcalue at all. In fact, its floral motif mirrors the floral design on the cieling. Maybe you could just "tart it up" with some new paint and maybe some bling - and, of course, some gold. If you are going to settle for "good enough" you might as well settle for the good enough you have, that's what I always say to myself😉. Thanks for taking us on the lovely brocante trip. You have such a lovely family it's always a pleasure to be brought along. All the Best, Claudine 😊
I don't want you guys to leave.... 😢 You have done an amazing job and you deserve to have it!! ❤
That was too bad about the chandelier. I did think things were overpriced, though.
Still, it was nice to see you all together.
Having the new boilers set up is going to help you sell. I am sure.
Lots of love to you all.❤
Thanks Peter 😊
There is another chateau couple that do not live in their chateau, but just rent it out to holiday makers. They live on a barge in the UK. They just come over to do repairs. Could u not do that instead of selling. Seems such a shame to sell and I know u will regret it.
Rob wants a chateau, he should buy yours 🇫🇷
It’s a good investment to buy a beautiful chandelier that is bling that will sell your house❣️
Just need to find €1700 😂
Beautiful chandelier- the crystals are very much like the crystals in the living room chandelier! Looking forward to seeing this episode!
Me too!!
Adrian saves the day again. Just as I had my finger poised over the BACK Button because I couldn't listen to the put downs again for no reason, allowing a child to think that's the way men should be treated, he swoops in with kind words and hugs. Kindness is so much more fun to watch. Even in sad situations. But what do I know
It's all in jest for goodness sake. How us British are!
@@angelasecker6999 I'm of British descent. I just married a Hollander So, no, I disagree. Nasty is just nasty, for goodness sake.
Maybe we could all donate a bit.
“If we were staying…” such sad words. Life moves on. ❤
The big Chandelier outside that's brass looks neat , blue and white and brass looks very neat together. But u find one . ❤❤
I'm sure you've had showings of the Chateau, I hope you will let us know when you've sold it. Keeping good thoughts for you all!!!
Adrian loved your comment about Carole! The boilers are incredible. Hot water and heat!
Bitter sweet trip today for you today Carol at the brocant. Life is a journey, enjoy.
Loved the chandelier, it even looked like Baccarat. Other opportunities abound.
You should be staying at the Château you could bring the whole family there and you can fix the whole place up Carol if you want to
Gosh, I kept thinking if we all put $10 or pounds or Euros in an envelope and sent it to the chateau, Carole could buy that beautiful chandelier and we could all enjoy it. 😊
We will miss you so much.
We will still be here on UA-cam
So sad that you found the chandelier you love. It is a perfect sign that you need to keep the château, lol As you keep working it … speechless
Heart Braking a new project in uk Will just never be the same feeling about as the exciting place in france
You do your best to offer a very comfortable CHATEAU to potential customers . The brand new system to heat the chateau and to get hot water is a major argument for a customer . I wish that they will pay the good price for all your great work and design.
How lovely!!!😊
We'll be watching you guys until you stop filming! Liked the music and close-ups on this one. For me, in this situation I would not buy any chandelier. The buyer's taste may be different. Those prices aren't bad compared to antique stores here in US, but it doesn't matter. But If I was selling and felt I had to replace it, I'd do less costly but still elegant gilded wood or brass. The real star of the hallway show is that gorgeous front door, paintwork, drapes, and flooring. XO
Thank you 😊
Love those hallway tables.
The right chandelier is out there waiting for you….hopefully you find it soon
Hi Adrian and Carol it was nice to see you shopping with Ash Terry and Rob and your daughter.....
Im lioking forward to what you find in the UK 🇬🇧 to renovate ... thx for allowing us to follow the dream, its been fun 😊
Our pleasure!
Adrian is a real Scot because he doesn't like spending his money wrongly, but don't despair you will find your candlestick it will be magnificent and its price within your budget. good luck
😂😂😂 thank you
You're all my favorites ❤!
This is really hard. I don't want to say anything to cause any upset and I don't think that's possible. Once you get an offer things won't seem so glum, you'll be able to focus on a New place maybe a cheap rural mansion in England (is there such a thing?)
Los sillones azules eran hermosos y la silla verdd junto a la puerta extraña que tenia focos. Deben volver por wl candelabro carisimo, era perfecto! ❤
There’s some beautiful things for sale. If only money was no object. Oh well one can dream.
Hmm getting a close up look of that outdoor chandelier with the colored bits of crystal/glass is quite nice however it's just not meant for the hall.
All that work in the basement to get heating and water running smoothly is such a huge undertaking. What will happen to the old blue tanker? I take it there's a recycling center somewhere close to bring the old oil?
Carole and Adrian my heart is breaking 💔 for all of you.😢
Have you ever considered what a pain chandeliers are to clean!! Hated mine!
thanks for taking us to the shop.... love all the tables and lamps and such.
You could get a couple of tankless water heaters. They are much much smaller, fits into tight spaces and Would help not having to run lines so far. Ours works great.
That entrance is looking really great
Great video .Always love shopping with You .As You taste is amazing ..Carole You look so pretty in that dress .I do love Your style
Thanks so much
I was so upset for you 😢 the perfect chandelier. My bottom lip was trembling 😔🥺😢😪
The new heating systems (air and water) increases the Chateau's value so much that its future should be on solid ground now. Thanks Adrian.
You are welcome 😊
Love going round the brocants with you all 🤗
New Heating & Water system look Amazing hope they live up to expectations 🤗👍 ☕🍰☕🍰☕🍰💐
Love Sue ❤❤❤🙏❤❤❤
Us too!
I’m wondering why you are still buying stuff for the chateau when it’s for sale? Didn’t you say you are not going to make a profit on the sale? Why spend money, instead of putting it towards a new home in the UK?
We still want what’s best for this old lady and so want to finish our projects 😊
Every video I keep hoping you have changed your mind about moving. It's a shame you can't figure out some way to stay. Lots of love, Kathy USA 🇺🇸
I enjoyed the brocante shopping, The chandeliers are beautiful. Lovely shopping companions. Very nice heating and water heating systems. Blessings.
meu deus , quantos lustres lindos na primeira loja quero todos , ótimo vídeo como sempre :)
ALL OF US WILL HIP IN SO THAT YOU BUY THAT CHANDELIER!!!
We found one we love just as much!! Check out our most recent video 😊
Bouhou!!! 😥😥😥 That chandelier would have been perfect for the hallway and those tables and those chairs and etc. Etc. That brocante was so very beautiful indeed but the chandelier was quite pricey. The hallway is so very beautiful. Oh! Well … wishing You all the very best.😊
Hope to see some new project from uk :( i love you guys and your work. I will miss it
Keep up the great work! :D
Maybe so but u have the best treasure each other and u r all loved
We could all chip in !
Thank you but I guess it wasn’t to be 😊
I find it hard to watch you spend money on a place youre going to leave :(
We hope that you’ll stay right there in your Chateau. BTW, the middle chandelier is the right one for your high hallway. It’s perfect. 😊
super odcinek i super się oglądało pozdrawiam wszystkich............Carol wyglądasz bosko w tej sukience☺
Good decision on not taking the expensive chandelier! If you'd have to leave that behind, Oh My Goodness... Something less expensive but perfect for the hall will find you! Excellent replacement of the mechanical thingamobobs, Adrian!
Carol you are soooo heartbroken, I really dont want to follow the channel anymore, it makes me to sad
We’re both still putting in the work 😊
I wish you would consider a lighting fixture with a unique design instead of a crystal chandelier for the hallway. I would think you could find a beautiful one if you opened the field.
Hallway fixtures are NOT crystal chandeliers usually.
