A lot of your messages and emails sound something like “ A medium coverage foundation? Could you recommend? “
So I think this is practical for you to have my favorites in here with all specifications about them.
A little bit about my skin if you’re new:
I’m in my mid 30’s, I have combination skin, very dry when it’s cold, I had difficult times with my skin as I had acne for more than a decade, I still have a lot of scars and I do breakout but not that much anymore.
I look for foundations that don’t take the life out of my skin, I don’t mind imperfections and I am not in search for perfection.
I want an even looking skin, I want to cover a bit the spider veins that are everywhere on my jaw line, the hyper pigmentation from the sun that I have on the cheeks and that’s pretty much it.

These picks were no surprise! It's so nice that you are consistent in what your favorites are. I don't understand not including a pump either especially for an expensive brand. It's so silly.
I love how you describe these foundations. I can tell that you know these products really well. I used to use the nars natural radiant thinking it would be great for dry skin because of its name. Boy, was I wrong. For a little while I tried to make it work but it never really happened for me. And then I met Nars Sheer Glow. My oh my, I was blown awaaay! So incredibly beautiful! Doesn’t emphasize my dry patches and it just makes my skin look so healthy!!
I need the best foundations for older skin. Something that won’t accentuate my fine lines. Light to medium coverage. Drugstore or high end.
Armani is a fave.
I use the Nars Natural Radiance foundation and love it - it’s my favorite. It truly looks natural - it enhances my skin and doesn’t mask it.
Andreea, I must say that you are getting better and better in the way you communicate with your audience. So your videos are much more enjoyable and the actual content is easier to appreciate. I love your vídeos! But I got very frustrated when all the foundations are not cruelty free brands. It’s my problem I know, but we need to know that big brands need to change that!

I’m so glad you also chose 2 foundations that don’t contain SD or denatured alcohol and fragrance. (Both NARS foundations... which I own in Deauville.) Those ingredients don’t work well for those of us with sensitive and blemish or irritation/allergic reaction prone skin types. (And technically, they’re not good for any skin type... but apparently consumers want quick drying, very mattified and scented makeup products... or the companies seem to think so.) This is also a major problem, if we have a makeup artist working on us, for an event... and they insist on using one of those foundations on their clients. (Unfortunately, many MUA are not very aware or seem to care, what’s in a product and wether it’s actually good for the skin or how it can affect certain people. It’s made me weary of having someone work on me, even though would it other love that sort of thing. It’s just not worth the trouble of irritation I will most likely end up with... for the following week.)

My favourite is nars sheer glow too. It goes on so smoothly n you can sheer it out or build it up too. It doesnt accentuate peach fuzz as you said, like when i tried Estée Lauder double wear once. omg that one just showed every tiny hair on my face! I probably should get rid of the peach fuzz with razors but I haven’t got the courage to do that just yet 😀. Maybe i needed to try it with a more moisturising primer.. what do you think?
My pump doesn’t spit out the way yours did n ive used it for a few years.
I never get foundations with alcohol or fragrance though, thats just a big no for me.

Thank you for doing this video. It is very timely as we are moving into fall/winter. I appreciate the way you describe all of the foundations, highly descriptive and articulate! I have used both the Dior Backstage and NARS Sheer Glow and agree with your comments. On your recommendation, I tried the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation. Wow! You are 100% on point in that it is more a demi-matte, it doesn't provide a glow or dew, but it does make your skin look refreshed and bright! I have seen a lot of You-tubers review it and say it is a full-coverage...well, like you said if you apply it with a Beauty Blender or sponge then you will get a full coverage! The way to apply this one is using one pump with fingers or brush. Other You-tubers: you don't need several pumps and put down the Beauty Blender! Not every foundation works best with a Beauty Blender! You are so knowledgeable about these products, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us Andreea!
Armani Luminous Silk 👌👌
I do not get the Armani Luminous Silk love! I think it must be a makeup artist thing and lack of flashback. I’m fair and cool, but I’ve mixed my 3.75 with 5.5 for a summer shade and it’s still a pretty flat natural finish. Now today I used Shiseido oil-free spf, which mattifies, and my Dior forever primer, which mattifies some in a velvet way, and then applied my La Mer soft fluid and I was glowing! Why anyone would choose Armani over the Dior foundations or La Mer is beyond me, especially if you like medium coverage. I will if you’re a BB user I recommend switching to a brush for the $$ La Mer as it’s the only foundation I own that actually does seem to get sucked up in a sponge

I read somewhere that some foundations are not meant to have a pump. The way their composition is, they work better without a pump and you are actually supposed to pour it out. It can get clogged in the pump because the texture of the foundation was created to be different than, let's say, some foundations that have a pump and work great with it.
I would love to see your video of Sisley-Paris foundation. Is it truly “natural, of botanicals?”. I find Sisley feels wonderful on my skin and the lipsticks/pencils, etc are of such high quality. Also, can you do an organic makeup video, please?

I have all theses foundation except the sheer glow. Like you Andreea I love the Nars natural long wear foundation because it has very good color match and very good cover and finish but the big problem on my combination skin is that just after 2 hours it starts to move so much, especially on the T zone. Even if I set it. So sad for this because like I said I love it for many other reasons.

I love armani luminous silk very very much. But I'm a good heavy oily skin girl. I keep searching the foundation which looks like armani luminous silk. So far, makeup forever ultra hd looks similar , but armani excels in every way. However, my struggle is for oil AF skin and sweat in tropics. So, I can use armani luminous silk in winter months when I'm not sweating much. Although, if I get the same luminous silk feel in matte version, I'd head over heels.
I'm thinking about buying nars natural radiant foundation but I have oily and acne prone skin. Currently I'm using loreal true match which suits my skin (Doesn't break me out) but I don't like the way I look,and it oxidise a lot too. Can anyone please tell me if nars breaks out,cause pimples or acne? Thanks.

Luminous silk wears more like a sheer foundation on my skin, I have acne scars and find there was no coverage with it, but the formula is so gorgeous. Any tricks for improving its opacity without simply adding layers on layers of product? same with Dior backstage.
i dont have acne but every now and then i have massive single pimples and ehat i do is i use the mac concealer in a pot (the spf 35 one) underneath to mask the blemishes and then go over the top for a luminous finish with a thin layer with the armani one... maybe this could work for you:)
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk was my favorite for years, but then I found Nars Radiant Longwear and it is even more amazing and lasts longer on my combo skin!! I love the look of Nars Sheer Glow when I first put it on and in pictures but for day to day working as a teacher I need the longwear! Love all of your picks as always!! Thank you for sharing! I'd love to see a top five in each category if you have time! :-)

@@em7830 I personally think that the nars longwear looks just as good but lasts longer and has a bit more coverage than the luminous silk. It also depends on the season and how hot it gets where you live. Cooler weather and dry to normal skin would love the luminous silk, oily to combo skin with hot weather would do better with longwear. Hope that helps!

Hi sweetie, I have similar skin only I'm more mature. 😁 💜 I haven't tried most of these foundations. I love the Dior! I want to try the MUF and Nars ones. 😁 💜 The Armani seems very light coverage to me. 😁 Maybe I am wrong. I love MAC foundations! They just work for me. Face and Body, Prolongwear Nourishing foundation is beautiful and of course the Studio Fix fluid! Love them all! 💜 😁

Adevarat ca am schimbat nuanta de doua ori pana am ajuns la cea corecta (facusem comanda online si culoarea mi’a parut ok, a doua schimbare s’a intamplat din cauza luminii din magazin) dar pana la urma am nuanta buna si sunt f multumita de alegere. Dior has a strong fragrance as well which is a “no” for my sensitive skin.

I like it a lot but the range of colors is a joke. And the undertone is either pink or neutral. Nothing for olive, golden, warm undertone. Very disappointed and frustrating cause I do think it’s a good product.

The only one I’ve tried is NARS Sheerglow and it felt like a rubbery mask that was very heavy on my skin, actually pulled my mouth wrinkles down - I hated it. It’s hard to find good coverage that doesn’t feel heavy, I’m finding.

Hello Andreea, I am your coloring and also have acne scars. I don't wear primer because I wear mineral sunscreen everyday and am told you can't prime over it. so how do i get these foundations, especially the long wearing ones, to wear well. ugh so frustrating!!! Thank you

Although I have oily skin I have the Dior backstage foundation. So beautiful and so natural. Ok, I get oily throughout the day! It happens to me even with the most matte foundations after quite some hours but this one is really good! Except the alcohol it also smells that heavily! I wish it didn't! Are you buying the New Fenty Foundation?

Carolina Susini she just did a full face on her cousin Laura, who has oily skin. She used a lot of Too Faced I think. I do have to say if you have oily skin and summer makes you sweat out of every pore in your head and face, we’re screwed 😉. I just use a non-radiant bb cream. Makeup artists always suggest powder for oily skin, but if you’re sweating it just gathers into rivers of powder around my mouth especially. I’ve actually had some luck laying a powder down first, then a light layer of foundation over it (best for oily skin and heat, still doesn’t work for sweat)-I use the Armani luminous silk powder, then a light oil-free foundation (ie Chanel Vitalumiere Acqua) over it.

I’ve heard that one is great for people with dry skin. I’ve recently been looking into getting it too.
Go for it! Get a sample of the Smashbox. It's a great product. I loved their older version and thought the new formula would be a total waste but I'm eager to get a sample soon and try.

If I remember well the Mac pump for the studio fix fluid foundation works with that Nars foundation bottle, maybe that pump works better jajajaja 💞💞
