This video really proves how differently one foundation works on different skin types.
I have a combination skin, and this foundation looks literally like my skin. And I've never experienced any tackiness with it. Actually, sometimes I don't even feel the need to set it even on my oily parts.
This really makes me think it's more of a moisturizer/primer issue. I use a pore filling one by Dermacol, but only sometimes. Otherwise everything underneath is always oil free.
Anastasiya Wiesmueller Yes! It's all about the condition your skin is in, your skin care routine, primer, application method, amount of product used, setting etc.

截ち切る You're right that the ingredients are not the best. But it works on me better than any other foundation I've tried. And while it's great to have anti-aging ingredients in a foundation, that's not what foundations are primarily for. I wear foundation about twice a week, so I get all my anti-aging stuff in my daily skincare.
And it is overpriced like crazy, but so is every single thing made by the beauty industry.
I think that base products are really tricky. I have very dry skin and this foundation works very well for me. I do prep my skin carefully, but I have to do that with any foundation or it's going to look bad.
I mix Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Fondation with Estée Lauder Doble Wear, it’s the perfect foundation.

This is one of my favorite foundations! I have normal to dry skin and usually mix this foundation with a drop or 2 of face oil. It goes on beautifully, and stays all day. :)

I personally think this foundation looked a lot better on your skin than a lot of other foundations you've tried in the past! But its always hard to tell through a screen rather than in real life! xx

When luminous silk first came out like 15 year ago it was the first time i truly loved a foundation!
This is my current holy grail foundation! I have combination skin. My favorite way to use it is:
1. Moisturizer: Drunk Elephant Protini
2. Primer 1: Chanel Le Blanc
3. Primer 2: Cover FX Mattifying Primer
4. Foundation
5. Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder
6. Urban Decay De-Slick Spray
I love it! I know it’s typically dewy but it melts soooo nicely into my skin and looks perfect all day.

I love this foundation! I’ve tried mixing it with the Giorgio Armani Power Fabric foundation and had beautiful results! Power fabric is way more matte and full coverage but adding this and setting it with a hydrating dewy spray really gave it a gorgeous finish! Moisturizing and exfoliating well first and a good smoothing and hydrating primer help too!
I love this foundation for mixing with the it cosmetics cc cream, I don't love either of them by themselves but love them together for some reason! Can't believe its already day 9!

Luminous silk is probably my second favorite foundation ever with Becca aqua luminous perfecting being first but I like sheer to let my freckles shine through and don’t have problematic skin
I LOVE this foundation. It's an absolute perfect match shade wise for me, and my 53 year old skin loves it. It gives me a solid medium coverage but looks so freaking natural that I had to use my 10x mirror to be sure it was blended evenly. This has replaced my ELDW and I'm not looking back. Totally worth the price.
This foundation is one of my all time favorites, but I think you will love this as a “mix-in” foundation for sure. That’s my favorite use for it!
This foundation, as far as watching on my computer, looked really beautiful on you~ Maybe once you are off the Accutane you may feel differently about some of these products. This 15 days is great for those of us with dry skin!!!! However, I have been alternating between the Elf Flawless and The Ordinary Coverage foundations... so I have proven to myself that I don't have buy luxury products!

lindsey bailes That's like asking me if I have a favorite child! LOL (I have two boys). Right now I am wearing The Ordinary Coverage because I bought the lightest shade. I am very pale at the end of winter. I have several colors of the Flawless foundation, so I will probably have to switch for the summer. The Ordinary products can be hard to get! Also, the Elf foundation is heavier as the Coverage foundation is very watery.

Bree I know - yay!! And it’s doing awesome! I really didn’t start clearing up till halfway through the 4th month which was pretty disheartening but my skin cleared up almost over night and I’ve had maybe 1 or 2 TINY things in the month since then so I’m thrilled with my progress. Side effects have been kind of rough (joint soreness in my knees, tailbone, and jaw (weird I know), blisters on my lips, and 2 hideous and painful rash outbreaks down the center of my face) but it’s been so worth it and I know some people have it way worse. How’s your progress coming??
Bree oh and somehow forgot to mention the CONSTANT upper lip sweating!! Probably the worst side effect just because it’s so effing annoying I can’t stand it lol. So ready for that to be over haha

I actually love this foundation 😊 it is light coverage. I have mixed this with Dior Forever, YSL all hours and Lancome Idole it works just fine. This foundation doesn't work with my Laura Mercier powder for some reason but works fine with my RCMA and other powders.
Make-Up Addiction I'll have to try it with my RCMA. It looks very make-upey on my skin.

Michelle Bross, it does for me too when I use certain powders especially the Laura Mercier and the Rimmel Stay Matte. Unfortunately, I have to set this foundation and is a sponge foundation for me for sure.
Make-Up Addiction sponge for me also. I can't get it to last through work though. I'm actually working as a housekeeper and it ends up sliding right off. I just ordered a sample of the it cosmetics CC Cream off eBay. I'm going to try and mix it with that.
Michelle Bross, the IT Cosmetics CC cream is also beautiful but that also doesn't last very long and it really need to be set. That CC cream doesn't like loose powder on me, it has to be pressed powder with a sponge if I use a brush it clings to it but it's beautiful if it sets right. 😊 I haven't mix both of them so let me know how you go xx

Hmm...I've never tried it, but I'm actually surprised you didn't like it because I thought it looked REALLY good on you. If it's about the creasing around the mouth area, I'm thinking most foundations will probably do that due to scarring?

For the price of this foundation being hyper-critical is a must. Her skin looks good but I've seen her achieve this and better with a $6 foundation.

I have very dry skin used to use the one religiously until I switched the the Lancôme teinte foundation. I felt this one would sometimes look heavier and sank into my forehead line more than I wanted, but the best combo was the Nars powder (I know you don’t like translucent powders so I don’t have a rec there) and the heritage rose water plus glycerin for setting spray.
I love this foundation! But I do agree it creases in my smile lines but nearly all foundations do. This and the Dior forever mixed is the dream combo!

I haven't tried this foundation but I've heard if you use fix+ with it, the finish looks much better.

I wish a lot of brands would sell smaller sizes. IT cosmetics half assed it with CC cream by only having 2 shades in their travel size. I'd have been ecstatic if that came in fair in trial size!

Every foundation works differently on different skin. It’s great on my skin but I apply with fingers and never have had skin problems.
It’s not a full coverage but it is buildable and always makes my skin look dewy and fresh apposed to mask like.
The colour selections also fantastic.
For $64 a foundation better cover the sins of my ancestors.

I have tried so many foundations and the Armani Silk is my fave. I always go back to it. Hate the price tag and still sniff around for new foundations, but always end up going back to it.
I love the GA Luminous Silk Foundation! I have dry, sensitive, rosacea-prone, 45 year old aging skin. I use the Hourglass Veil Mineral primer, do not powder except to set concealer under my eyes, and mist with the Too Faced 3-in-1 Hangover Rx Setting Spray.
Best way to apply this I have found is warm it up on fingers then spread onto face and tap down with fingertips. Then take a damp sponge, spray with setting spray and take off excess then tap it onto skin to perfect the texture. After this dries I use a translucent powder to absorb any oil and it looks amazing!
I really liked the way this looked on camera! I understand that maybe it’s not the same in person, but it looked amazing to me!
I personally have had a hard time getting a shade match on this one. I mix with Giorgio Armani Power Fabric to get the right shade and finish for me. I think your skin looks beautiful but you know what works best for you. My BFF of 40 years wears this and it's her holy grail. I vowed to send it to her whenever she needs it. I just got this foundation & I love it. My all time favorite & I’ve tried everything, very oily , acne slight scaring skin. Covers all my sins. Impressive worth the money.
I liked this foundation but I didn’t think it was that amazeballs either. I wish all foundations came in this smaller size bottle though! I also really liked the smell of it.
I love the finish of this foundation, but like you said it can do with more coverage. Eventually, I found that this foundation pairs very well with the Hourglass Vanish stick foundation, at least for my normal-oily skin type. Placed the Hourglass foundation on areas where I need more coverage, then blend with Luminous Silk using my beauty blender. The outcome never disappoints.
I mix it with Lancome Teint Idole. Buff on the first layer with a brush, and then pat/dab on your 2nd layer with brush or sponge. I have hormonal acne cysts and scars and this is my daily :)

I bought this one. It is a perfect shade match for me. It has a very natural, dewey look. I don't think I would buy it again though. It is a bit too light in coverage and it doesn't hold up the best on my oily skin. I do find that I reach for it a lot thought - I was surprised that my bottle is half gone! I think it's because it's easy to work with and has a perfect no make up make up look. Urban Decay naked is similar in finish, but better coverage IMO.

This is one of my top 3 favorite foundations of all time. I bought it originally when I was more oily and could only use it in the winter with a mattifying primer and powder. I’m more normal/dry now and I don’t set it and it stays all day. I would play with primers and setting sprays. I didn’t love it on me at first, but it grew on me a lot. I have lots of redness in my cheeks and this doesn’t completely cover it, but it’s fine for every day wear and if I want more coverage I just use concealer in those areas. I never feel cakey when I wear it. I hope this helps you try it a little more!
What powder do u set it with? I used LM pwdr for the first time trying this fdtn this morning and I read above where someone said that the LM setting pwdr was the worse on to use.

I don’t know how you don’t have 1 million subscribers or more. Some of these young girls who have 1,000,000+ don’t do half of the job that you do. What that says to me, is the bulk of the people watching UA-cam don’t really put any value into hard work, effort, intelligence, etc. what I love, is that at 45 years old I still find you relatable. The maturity level is obviously there compared to some of these other younger UA-camrs. I do know that my age demographic isn’t the bulk of who the audience is for UA-cam. Especially beauty videos. I get that teenagers and young 20s is probably the bulk of who watches these videos. So I do find it very difficult to relate to a lot of other UA-camrs. Bottom line, you’re doing a kick ass job and I hope your channel continues to grow because you deserve it!

I was super excited to see you review this foundation, it’s always been on my list for along time. I recently went to Sephora to get a sample of the Luminous Silk foundation and the shades were so confusing! I ended up getting like 3 different shades and none of them were a great match

I have dry skin and love this foundation. I prime with a variety of things I.e. BB face base or pore fessional etc. I do set with UD all nighter and it is long wearing and beautiful. Your skin looked fantastic. I do like the flower beauty on u as well.

i dont know if this rude for me to say but i really admire the fact that you can come on camera with your acne and even today with your skin improving. i have these clusters of acne scars on my cheeks and i hate pictures of myself let alone videos of me unless i have on makeup. i cant wait for you to do a video on your accutane once you're done with it!

This is intriguing as this is my all time fave foundation for extremely dry skin. I personally use 02, which is a great pale muted cool yellow shade on me, a near perfect match for my undertones. It is just about medium coverage but ultra skin like and it's so beautiful and radiant looking, so I'm happy to spot conceal with a full coverage Concealer. It never creates on me despite having major forehead lines and is dry to the touch while still being dewy. Very interesting to see how opinion differs from person to person.

This is my fav foundation am 6.5 and it’s the only foundation I use. On me it looks so natural and light feel to my face and not sticky. But I have dry skin and no acne or texture.
I agree about smaller bottles. 😊
Ur skin looks great!!! Hearing the pain in ur voice makes my heart break my best friend suffers from migraines and she is having a really tough time right now but bc of ur post before, I feel I have a better understanding n can b there for her 🖤🖤
The Physicians Formula Quad in Canyon Classics! It is perfect to keep on hand to either complete quick all matte looks or fill in missing shades when working with a palette (esp if you like cool tones)!
