@@dogwalker666 Yes, but that's not what's being discussed so is missing the point. Light CAN travel in a curved path but it doesn't do so by itself. If you're refracting it (via a material boundary) or bending it (by bending spacetime itself) you're providing an external influence.

We are talking about science, when the bible was written there was almost no understanding of science. Don't be so close- minded, if you did an experiment correctly, and took the results and concluded with no bias, you would indeed come up with a round earth. I believe he privated many of his videos because his original channel got suspended for anti-semitism. I also saw comments from other channels where people were debating and responding to him, which also all happened to be removed. I don't even think he's using his original channel now, it got rebranded a ton to evade issues before eventually getting suspended.

Luke Beauchamp my apologies, I misremembered something I had looked up years ago. The definition of sin and cos changed after Snell's law was established.
When I was at school we experimented with a block of clear acrylic on a board and using pins, traced a light ray through it. We put two pins one side and lined up another two in the position they appeared to be in looking through the acrylic. The light ray could then be traced by drawing a line between the pins. By trying the pins in different places, the relationship in the angles becomes apparent.

You keep bringing up NASA while forgetting the world has many other space agencies also. Russian, Chinese, European, Indian......... You're not special if you believe we only have NASA, and just NASA. Also, about the CGI pictures, the earth is so big you need to stitch pictures together, that's what photoshop means. @BussDown LilFoe The bible is a book. Books are non-sentient and as such have no beliefs whatsoever. It doesn't actually say the Earth is flat, either. There's some statements that could be misconstrued as such, but it should be kept in mind that the Earth being round was already known when the bible was written, so it is likely they weren't meant literally that way.

Neither are there any indications in Latin or English (Latin Vulgate or DRB versions) that the Earth is anything BUT a globe. However, the translation found in the King James Version, which states that the Earth "is a circle" in Isaiah 40 22, might be the thing that sets them off on their quest to "prove that the Earth is flat". I mean, the word "circle" can be interpreted a few ways.
But then again, the KJV is of questionable validity.

It's a bit complicated. The current Flerfer movement is based around Samuel Rowbotham's "zetetic model", which is basically Bible apologetics with a thin coat of paint. If you don't believe in the Bible, you have no reason to qualify the Bible's description of the Earth as flat as prior knowledge. But it's possible for a non-religious person to become a flerfer by the conspiracy theory route, believing the ancient, all-powerful NASA has been hiding the true shape of the Earth for thousands of years to control our minds.
