I appreciate you showing the hickups or things not going exactly the way you planned them out to be. It's also insane to me that you took all your gear off to get your fire suit on, sprinted to your garage/pit bay and were able to immediately get into a shot. The behind the scenes, breakdowns, & gear you use is super cool.
Thanks for the kind words! I pride myself in always doing everything I can to get the best work out of myself. I know a lot of people would have just taken an L in that scenario but I can’t live with myself if I do that.
The positive energies and passion you put into your work is incredible, I’d never thought this job could be so stressful and demanding, you probably need to put more energy into it than the drivers you’re filming. I always thought you guys had some spotter in order to know where the car are at the track and when they’re going to pit, ecc.
We love to joke that the drivers only have to do one stint a weekend in this championship and are still sleeping when we show at the track. But honestly they have an incredibly hard and dangerous job and I couldn’t do it.

Great video Mark, I'm very interested to see what you create at my home circuit, Brands Hatch! It's a completely different style of circuit to Paul Ricard and the US circuits as you know so it'll be super cool to see!

This is so awesome! Been getting more into the GT world of racing, from US here, also videographer and this video really puts filming and editing into perspective for ones that don’t know. Running around to GET that shot is always worth it!! One thing I’ve learned is you have to put yourself out there to stand from the other creators for sure!! You’ve got my sub!! Thank you for such coop videos. Been following sportscar racing for ages but never had an opportunity to see the work of photo/videographers. Just one thing: As a new watcher of your videos it would be great to point out what teams you are shooting for at the specific race meeting.
I try not to talk about my clients directly when possible. But it's easy to figure out who I'm shooting for as you watch the vlogs. Those are usually the video clips I use from trackside.

I love what I do but it is A LOT of work. We work a lot of hours when we're on the road and travelling can be a real grind. But still, I'm not giving it up any time soon!
Looking forward to the Brands vlog, but wear your helmet all times - a few local videographers for support championships not happy with the SRO license fee throwing their toys out of the pram!! I mean, you'd think they'd just charge it to their clients (who are used to getting content for free.......) Request though, a decent shot from inside Sheene Curve? I really struggled at the BTCC last season for a client to get one! Would love to see that!
The fees are definitely tough. I personally believe (my opinion only) it’s been done simply to deter the number of videographers at each race. It’s becoming overwhelming as every single driver wants to hire a personal videographer. I push the cost into my clients and naturally they were happy about it either. But you’re in the championship and have to play by their rules. FWIW, they’re some of the cheapest fees in any Motorsport which tells what other sanctioning bodies are charging just to be able to promote yourself.
@@Murbanvideo Horses for courses? When SRO introduced fees for British GT there was plenty of grumbling because no other British national series does that. Like you say (and I work as a journo/photographer with video being secondary to that) when you walk onto a pitlane the amount of photographers sometimes gets a bit crazy! Enjoy Brands mate, I was working there last weekend (Indy layout) and can't imagine you'll have as much access to shuttles, and as you'll know, trying to get back to pitlane from the GP layout in time is a pain in the rear. Loving the vids - when you check your analytics, I'm one of the ones who watch each one right through, keep 'em coming!

hi Mark! I visit Hockenheimring really often but i shoot only from the trackstands. Is it really hard to apply for a media pass? Do i need to have a Journalist ID to apply for it or is it easy? Love your videos !!!

I have just started in videography and am getting used to frame rates, shutter angle, etc. Used to shoot (as a photographer) GTWCE for a website when it was called Blancpain GT series, back in the day. There used to be an endurance round at Silverstone which was great. I'd love to see that come back
