    I recently bought 3 more neutrons, arrived this past week, so now have 4. This is the kind of thing I want to play with! Absolutely amazing sound you have there too!

    This kind of synth that are not clones is the kind of product Behringer should concentrate on. It seems that they will come out with a similar synth called the Proton. When you look at it, it could cost more than 3K to do a similar setup using euro rack modules so it’s a really good option for someone who wants to get into modular but don’t want to spend a lot of money.

    So glad you didn't re-skin them! This looks as awesome as it-- IS. And how cool having the triple rats nest neatly off to one side 👍👍👍

    Been wanting to get a K2 to pair with my Neutron for quite some time now. But this makes me consider a second Neutron instead... Damnit, too many options 😀
    Great video!
    Ps. Lfo is prewired to Mult, no need to patch that connection. 🙂

    Kool. Been wanting to try this for years, but with 3 different synths with right patchbays. Like Arturia MiniBrute, Neutron, and Mother32. OR..today with a Neutron / Proton / Behringer Model15. For around $1000 heck or a monosynth, but also stereo panned left / right / center for a huge stereo field.

    You can perfectly use the digital lfo as a third OSC ,it tracks pitch very well

      I like to use whole digital synths through analog ones for their oscillators. I have a video about exactly that.

    An lfo is 3 dollar in component if you make them ,one of the easiest schematics , you can have 10 to modulate the neutron

      Well, sort of. The many oscillators and crazy movement stuff but moogs are known for the 24 db ladder filter and Neutrons have a 12 db which let's more through but is less "fat" sounding. I have a few Behringer Model D's too. One day I'll run the 3x Neutron through a D filter.

    Hey there, great ride. Question; with this process we loose the drives right? Is there a way to return those? Thank you!

    • @housebandthexenos2569
      @housebandthexenos2569  Рік тому +1

      Great Question! The drive on the main unit, you know the destination unit, will work on all units oscillators together as a sum.
      That's probably what you want BUT you could instead of take osc mix outs take main outs. Problem there is you get extra in series filters and VCAs on just Neutrons #2 and #3. You could maybe patch around the filters but probably a lot of work and thinking.

    • @jakowrtaric
      @jakowrtaric Рік тому

      @@housebandthexenos2569 Hmm, the drive on the main unit is also off here. The main outs, if you mean "output" outs do not do the trick here. Ill play around and add a comment if I solve it. Im quite new at this btw. Thank you good sir :)

    • @housebandthexenos2569
      @housebandthexenos2569  Рік тому

      @@jakowrtaric well if you are using the 2nd units filter in series it depends where you patch it back to in my main unit. I was thinking of just the normalled connection on #1 unit from it's vcf. If you patch that 2nd units vcf into wherever that drive is I'm sure you'll get it. I'll check later today and let you know where I think.

  • @ethosannihilator

    Damn! You seem to know a ton about this equipment. I got a neutron today it sounds great but I can only get audio from the OSC 1 2 mix in the patchbay and nothing from the 1/4" Jack's on the back of the unit. Any ideas?

    • @sabamacx
      @sabamacx Рік тому

      There are some basic neutron tutorials on youtube. Almost all of them start from a default configuration which will give you sound. Follow those.

    • @tommyheron464
      @tommyheron464 Рік тому +1

      Patch vcf1, vcf2 or overdrive Into vca in on the patch bay. That should do it. Patching vcf1 or 2 removes the overdrive from the signal path.

    how do you control them? I see no midi connection being used, are you controlling this with CV or with the rear USB connection?

    • @housebandthexenos2569
      @housebandthexenos2569  Рік тому +2

      I'm using a 3x USB cables and 3x midi tracks, one to each unit. You could just use a midi cable to one unit though and daisy chain midi thru to the rest.l and just use one daw track. I believe the midi out can have a thru function set in the Synth Tribe app if I remember correctly

    • @koosfockens1707
      @koosfockens1707 Рік тому

      @@housebandthexenos2569 thank you do you use a USB hub of some kind as a lot of USB devices need to be connected directly to some (powered) connection or hub with it's own power supply.

    • @housebandthexenos2569
      @housebandthexenos2569  Рік тому

      @@koosfockens1707 yes, a hub is fine but before the hub not a bad idea to put a USB electrical isolator. This prevents computer noise from going thru the USB and mix with audio of unit. Not essential, but some computers (and USB ports) are noisier than others. Midi din jacks never have that issue.

      This is an exact link to where I got the case. It's not an affiliate link so I don't get any $. Just helping out. I think they're a little pricey for what they are but they charge so cheap for the synths, they must make all their money on these stands! :)

    How do you connect the midi? Its all 3 connected via usb?

    • @housebandthexenos2569
      @housebandthexenos2569  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah I'm using usb to each neutron, and 3 armed midi tracks. One to each unit. Alternately you could use the midi thrus on the back of the units and use just one track. I don't know for sure if the usb input is echoed to the thru though. I haven't tested that. If your using a daw, id say usb is better. It's just easier and you can find probably find usb cables cheaper than midi ones and you probably have more usb cables just lying around.

    • @housebandthexenos2569
      @housebandthexenos2569  Рік тому

      U can do alot of the same sounds but a big difference with the 2600 is that the Neutron has a 12db 2 pole filter instead of the 24db 4 pole of the 2600 and Moog Modular as well.
      Having a 2 pole let's more of the stuff above the cutoff point thru, and that let's you hear more of the massive 6 osc stack's midrange detail to be heard. Also more fm upper harmonics etc. I have run this 3x neutron stack thru a Behringer Model D filter and envelope and then it is, well, more Moogy.

      Hey. Quite a awhile ago I did a bunch of overlay designs for the Neutron. They are quite artsy and bold but have a wide color palette between and sometimes within them. I never got them printed or anything but the other guy in the thread did and some of them are available. Mine are way more fun though.
      There's a Gearspace thread with them all. Mine are post #5 and high res so you can click on em and zoom in. I did many of the designs using fractals or 3d modeling. Let me know what you think. I probably should have printed some but kind of the other guys way plainer designs coupled with his working at a printing place discouraged me I guess. Here's the link.
