the work on the arrangement is really next level and it's where i guess most people ( At least me ) fall short! the sound design part isn't so complex but putting the sound together from those basic building blocks is definitely black magic!
As I'm a complete newb the way he makes sounds was just great to see. I'd waste so much time making bad sounding noises! The neutron is my first synth, bought it used on a whim as the price was so low. I thought it was like the crave so expected to make sequences right out of the box. Still £165 on the neutron and two controllers, no regrets.
@@clivemeaker4738 It ended up being more than i expected, phat enough i reckon ;) Just curious about what other hardware and processes you used here. You mentioned a preamp, i'm guessing it's the 1073 clone ? Also, did you use the API2500 at all ? I might actually get a Neutron, but i want to stay all otb with hardware for that set-up. Having a nice chain for the Neutron to feed into will be the key.
so happy I chose this as my main synth for standalone and eurorack duties. Built the rack off this footprint, now expanding because modular is so much fun (and addictive). grrrr8 tutorial/demo
I’ve zoned out for hours making various baselines on the Neutron. It’s got many sweet spots and you’ll have many happy accidents if you give it some time to play around. I’m going to try this challenge when I get some time.
Nice one. Neutron is super powerful. Juste a note: Noise level does not control the noise output from the patch bay. You can turn it to zero and still have noise coming out.
This is rad! Thanks FM + Dr Meaker. If anyone watching this lives in Sacramento, you can come borrow a neutron for free from MusicLandria and see where it takes YOU creatively.
There is a way better way to make kicks with the Neutron. Put the resonance of the filter super high until the filter self-resonates, then turn the mod wheel up and put the LFO on a Saw wave. Then play with the filter frequency and LFO speed until you get a nice thumpy kick.
OK, I suck. I have a room full of gear and my DnB isn't that awesome. I'm holding out for the Neutron MK II, although, maybe I'll still get one of these.
I bought the neutron about 2 years ago to learn a bit about modular, so this was SUPER usefull. Something ive been wondering tho is, what patch cables go to the behringer? Ive lost some of the original ones and i dont know which one fits when searching for new ones to purchase. Help is appreciated!
Even though this isn't a style of music that I enjoy, this was a great instructional video for basic synthesis and proof that you don't need a room-full of synths to create (even though I do). Is it not a problem to have the volume of your tracks way up in the red?
@@zechs5079 yeah I liked this demo video. I've never played around with modular stuff myself. It seems like a deep rabbit hole I'm not quite ready for. I'm more of a musician than a sound designer.
@@zechs5079 I think I have access to Native Instruments Reaktor and have been meaning to explore it. Obviously it's a soft synth but might me a good place to start.
@@ghdrum it is, but a better option might be VCV RACK. It has a TOOOON of digital modules from actual module makers and there are a ton of tutorials. Just a thought.
It has a standard USB B input on the back which is the same as a printer cable. You just need one with the right desktop or laptop end USB-A or USB-C. Alternatively if you use an audio interface and that has 5 pin MIDI sockets, you can those to the sockets on the top and back of the Neutron.
Nice track but the Neutron has a nasal quality in its sound character , paired with eurorack filters and VCA's really makes the oscillators shine and you get a lot of utility modules for modulation, not bad for 300 bucks!
While I don't really agree, I just want to mention that it's an old genre, which it has become very formulaic. A lot of people making it gets stuck in the same rut, with more or less identical rhythmic patterns and layout of the songs.
This sells the Neutron more than any video Behringer made.

Right? It totally does.

Good work, the Neutron is great, it has more sweet spots than a cake factory!
🐐

Thanks Dr for opening the surgery and for attending to our sonic malady with such skill.I wanted to be a doctor - but i didn't have the patience.

For the kick I’ll probably layer it up to get more punch, same with the bass.
Nice one for Massive !!! 💚🎛
What a great tutorial and can be applied to pretty much any synth
Dude there no competition on youtube on the flexibility of this synth. Even the fact that you didn't go ham on after fx! TAG BEHRINGER
Serum looooool
@@agatheboulanger5807 This is a hardware discussion. Vital, Surge, Serum, etc are different beasts from a hardware mono synth.

Oh Hell Yes!! 👏
Video with mixing process of this tune would be great!
Would be cool to see some of the processing you used to mix the song!
Bad ass synth and a bad ass song
love thisz been obsessed with the tune
The noise I forget about THAT!

What an awesome showcase of the Neutron!
Such a wicked synth!
Yea! Good stuff Clive! 🔥🔥📯📯🏆🏆
Nice work - the Neutron Sounds very cool in this Track 👍👍

Pure wizardry Clive 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lots of good ideas. Thx.
Tnx for much inspiration! :-D
Bro...super dope
Only problem - i never used a DAW, would need 30 Neutrons and Sequencers.
Litteraly did the exact same "exercise" with my neutron today it's so fun
Nice!🤓I will be receiving my Neutron this week and can’t wait to try this method. 👍
Top bannanana, learned a few good tips, cheers.
Sick visuals
Song!?...You could do a complete album!!😊
Nice job man 👍
It's a good synth. But I feel a little GAS when I see the Proton coming. And then there's the VCS3.

Not my type of sound but what a beautiful demo ! This video had to exist. Well done !
Hey, I'm reallllyyyy interested in his outboard gear, as well as plugins. because that mix is very nice.
Wicked.
Love it all!!
Why no saw waves used ?) 😎
Wow so informative
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Definitely need to buy a neutron now! MC-707 and this would be sweet combo for dnb jams 😍
that snare sure sounded different when you played everything together? How did it get to that
Ayooo, smashed it ♥️

UA-cam has all your awnsers
Any Eurorack patch cables, or in other words, any 3.5mm TS cables.
sick result
Cool!
funny how that popped up after i amde one with u-hes diva only^^. well almost :D, cos some fx were involved. nice one

@Dr Meaker Tidy very tidy…..🌟🌟🌟🌟
Noice. I just bought my first ever synth and it's the Behringer Wasp. It hs some serious character! Might have to see if I can do something similar.

got the Proton here - wait til he gets a load of that beast ;-)

When a musician turns a synth into a instrument.

if you want to up the stakes even further, try making dnb with the Crave ;D

legit!
So you made a kickdrum with a highpass filter?

how do i send midi information to my neutron from my daw

no hard sync on an analog bassdrum?
Carnt imagine how u get the snare
it sounded totally differnt after he created it to when he played it together with the other drums, he must have added a sample to it or something
Manso temazo que sacó jajaja
I bought this track when it was out, only just stumbled upon this video whilst contemplating buying a neutron, I guess that’s my mind made up then!

"purists"? more like "elitist fanboys". Lets call them how we see it.

Who makes drums like that? Of course, if you specifically need to make a dirty sound, then you can do it that way.
