Thanks for the video. It is the only information I could find anywhere that explained what the patchbay does. However, I am a complete newbie to all of this (most of the time I play the harp - simple stuff - pluck a string - sound comes out!). Therefore, a lot of what you say here is one step beyond where I am. So far, I am getting to understand the knobs on the left-hand side and how they all work together to create different sounds - but the patchbay is still a mystery to me. I am sure the same will be the case for anyone coming into this who have no previous experience, and for us, beginner explanations are as rare as snowflakes in the desert. A really basic guide would be overwhelmingly appreciated. I would be quite happy to pay for such a course - either on something like Udemy or via Patreon support. Having said all of that, the video was still really useful - it is the closest to explaining the 'why' as well as the 'what' that I have found.
Mine is going to arrive in a couple of days, this is a really useful video to give me se insight into patching options beyond the little provided in the manual 😃👍
Great tutorial. Maybe stupid beginners qustion, but can you also send external modules through the patchbay, to only use the delay of the Neutron for instance on other external modules?
Hey Rafa, sorry for the late reply, I've missed a lot of comments somehow... Using the midi out of the microfreak I was able to send midi to the Neutron (I dont remember changing any settings on the Microfreak to do so, it was by default) :)
I think that Neutron software can't send midi notes, tempo etc. I found that you can sync Neutron with DAW if you unplug the USB cable and then use midi in.
No it doesn't but it makes setting the lfo rate much easier when the lfo is set to be synced by the midi signal, sometimes it'll take more time setting the lfo to a rate of 1/4 for example than making the whole patch... the pote is just too sensitive (even when I use the tune pots on the lfo)...
@@olliepsy Actually it does work through usb. Don't know why but it just started to work. Also now I'm having the Neutron app via usb and midi cable from audio interface at the same time. Using Reaper. Make sure that Neutron is disabled from DAWs midi list. That might do it.
It's true that my filming techniques weren't that good at the time when I filmed this one but I think I did explain well what was going on... Anyways, I'll make sure the future ones will be better, thanks for your input!

Will you do more sounds like neurobasses with the neutron there aren’t enough vids on how to do stuff like that with the neutron?
Great tutorial. Maybe stupid beginners qustion, but can you also send external modules through the patchbay, to only use the delay of the Neutron for instance on other external modules?
Totally, it's fully compatible with any eurorack module ;)

You're welcome man, Cheers :)
really nice demo mate, interesting channel just subb. ciao

Hi there what do you use to clock the neutron to your DAW’s tempo ?
Thanks a lot to take in for a newbie .. still thanks ..
Thank you for your support guy :)
Thanks for the awesome tutorial. One question, how did controlled it with the microfreak? Thanks a lot

Is yours also faulty. Or why do you pass over the Overdrive ?

@@calcal7845 I've tried disabling the neutron from Ableton and it worked (with USB only), thanks man :)
Not being able to read the patch bay, you need to be more clear about what is being patched to what (and why)...slow down!
It's true that my filming techniques weren't that good at the time when I filmed this one but I think I did explain well what was going on...
Anyways, I'll make sure the future ones will be better, thanks for your input!
They are really cool patch ideas...thank you!
