    So useful tips in one vids to use neutron. Thanks a lot for sharing that with us.

    This was a great tutorial to show off some of what the Neutron can do. It has inspired me to start making more sounds on my Neutron, especially more percussion sounds.

    I just bought a used Neutron! I am super excited to work with it as my launchpad into semi-modular/modular analog synthesis

    Good to see a professional put the Neutron through its paces. I built my simple budget (as much as possible) 6U Eurorack system above my Neutron, as it was the inspiration for me getting into this. Versatility, utility and affordabilty. It ticks all the boxes and sounds great.

      @easytiger1452  Рік тому +2

      Yes, it was the same for me. It's the perfect gateway into eurorack. Very affordable but already let's you tick off a lot of the boxes. So you can start looking into some fancier modules one by one and the neutron provides you with all the necessary tools to get the most out of them.

    Osc 2 out through an attenuator then into Osc 1 in!?! That was such a fantastic surprise!! You’ve really worked your way around Neutron. And so you’ve got some great understanding, that it doesn’t take long at all for you to dial in what your listening for. THANKS for sharing!

    I love how this came out and really enjoyed following your process. I don't have a Neutron, but I am going to try your approach on my Microbrute 2S - I think a lot of your ideas will translate. Thanks!

    Fantastic! Right now I have a Neutron, a Korg Minilogue, and a Roland FA-08 on my synth tower. My laptop has been down for months now been a bit of a chore to learn how to record on the workstation but this gives me one more tool in my toolkit to try out if you can record an entire song (at least in pre-production) from the Neutron. Cheers man!

      Sounds more like early 80s electropop (like early Depeche Mode).

      I'm fine with that too:) Even though I didn't choose that route on purpose. I guess making everything with one analogue monosynth will naturally lead to a more raw result. Less refined than other things maybe but ideally it'll make up for that with character and punch.

    I wish I could quantize a scale.
    Also, I wish I could control the modulation tempo with midi, successfully.

    just curious, do you use the USB port for your midi connection when it's racked (or even in the demo) rather than the one on the front panel?

    • @magickmarck
      @magickmarck Рік тому

      Guess

    • @easytiger1452
      @easytiger1452  Рік тому +3

      I usually use the midi din connector just like you said because it's easier to get to when in the rack. Here I connected via USB mainly for a cleaner front panel for the video:)

    The result could have sounded like the history of synth pop from early Giorgio Moroder to Daft Punk but you have transended cliché with your punctuating filter effects and post production. It sounds very safe and melodic and I would have been drawn by the dark side of German industrial vibes. It's delightful. A really artistc collage and a great demonstration of the capabilities of the instrument.
    Q. Is midi connected over usb?

    • @easytiger1452

    Great video my friend!!! I was wonder to buy this one or behringer edge or the crave...tell me the sound is really good ??? thanks!!!

    • @easytiger1452
      @easytiger1452  Рік тому +3

      I have no experience with crave nor edge. So I can't really say anything about their sound. The way I understand it they both have some sequencing possibilities on board which the neutron doesn't. So that's one thing to consider (in case you don't have a sequencer to pair with the neutron) . Neutron on the other hand has more patch points and imo is the perfect toolbox as a gateway into eurorack. I like the sound of the neutron too. I think the oscillators sound great. I'm not the biggest fan of its filter which seems to distort in not the most pleasant way when resonance is increased. The delay is a bit noisy but that doesn't bother me at all and I love that it's there. All things considered I think this instrument offers you lots of value at a very low price tag.

    Hi I have just bought a neutron but not a clue how to work it and when I plug usb into sythtribe it won’t recognise it. Do I need another controller to make sounds with this synth or can I plug this into a mixer and it will make sound its self with patches.

    • @easytiger1452
      @easytiger1452  Рік тому

      You can absolutely make sounds with the synth by itself. the best way to start is to dial up the via bias and then you should already start hearing something. triggering the envelopes with the lfo is also a way to open up the vca. I'm doing just that somewhere in this video as well. If you want distinct pitches though there's no way to get around using an external controller. any old midi keyboard or controller will do. Just make sure you have controller and neutron both set to the same midi channel (the little white switches on the backside of the neutron).
