Paula is so awesome you get your point across but in such a way.... it’s polite and that southern lady charm yet she gets her point across even if it flies over others... But I Absolutely adore Mrs Deen!!! My heart smiled a little bit bigger - ya know! No sarcasm true admiration!! When others get older they’ll get it...I get it because my mother-in-law was teaching me all along the way, I didn’t get it “get it” then my wee light bulb went off and we bonded over the moment, we ended up best friends in the later years, she was patient but she schooled me, hopefully she gets the wisdom that is being imparted to her... it humbling and a blessing, how else do we learn?!! So much love to you Paula and your family! I just think you’re amazing!!
If your avocado isn't quite ripe enough, you can wrap it in a moist paper towel and microwave for 15-20 seconds and it helps soften it for easier mashing..
just a tip I learned in home ec class almost 30 years ago. I found it fascinating learning that due to the fact you couldn't find many, if any avocadoes in small town north Georgia back in the day.

As a fellow South American woman I think she’s great and the meals she has shared are how I eat, clean, healthy, plant based (minus the egg). She represents how our generation eats you will be bringing younger viewers to the channel! I vote more with her!

Loved this episode. Who doesn't live by the five second rule. Claudia is so right. We all needed to exercise our immunity systems especially now. I'm making avocado toast soon; I don't have avocados at the moment. I like mine on toast with mayo, bacon, avocado, and reduction balsamic vinegar. Maybe not low fat, but it is delicious.

Have you got a Trader Joe’s near you?? They have a jar of seasoning called “Everything But The Bagel,” that is SOOOO good! I sprinkle in my avo toast- makes it taste like an everything bagel. It’s awesome on meat as seasoning too.

Love Miss Claudia and would love to see more of her in future shows!! This recipe looks super yummy, fast, easy, and quick to fix! Perfect recipe for folks in a rush to feed themselves, family, and friends!!! I have never added a fresh lemon to my avocado sandwiches/toast so I must try that! We gobble them up so quickly that I never thought about adding citrus to it like I do with my avocado slices- I add lime juice to those and leave pit on plate as long as I can until serving so they don't turn brown!!!
Would love to see more of Claudia and Bobby when those triplets come over, hopefully we all get to meet them and do a show where you can get the kids involved when they are a little older!!! Seeing as though both Mom, Daddy and Grandma are all fantastic cooks, it would make for a wonderful rated show as there are not alot of shows that show how to get kids involved with cooking from a very young age!! Great teaching opportunity especially if they go out and collect the chicken eggs/pick any fruits/veggies so they start to understand where their food comes from!!! Also really intered to learn more about foods/dishes that are popular in Venezuela and healthier versions of cooking!!! Especially including how to add more protein and less fat to comfort food cooking! Perhaps have you guys cook side by side the same dish 2 ways (lower fat/salt/carbs/calories vrs regular-Paula's way!!!) Love the idea of giving people the choice on how to cook same meal 2 different ways!!!
I had Gastric Sleeve surgery nearly 4 yrs ago and am always looking for ways to add extra healthy protein into my dishes (Claudia/Bobby's version), but yet the rest of the family don't have any weight issues and would probably prefer Paula's version better!!
Only thing I think I would do differently would be to add 1-2 slices of bacon crumbled in with the avocado and add less salt then!!! Great for a quick morning meal-perhaps even a cook and take breakfast (as long as you don't spill on yourself-excellent tip about avocado staining clothes unless you wash clothes right away)!!! Would love to hear more tips like that during cooking videos!!!
I have been married to a wonderful man from Mexico for the last 25 yrs and unfortunately I didn't know that tip and found out the hard way on a beautiful new summertime dress that I had put on for our huge family/friends bbq and my dress was unfortunately ruined after that bbq as it stained my dress so badly after making guacamole and cutting up fresh avocado slices to put on the Carne Asada/grilled pork chop plates! Of course I didn't get it on dress doing the prep work as I had an apron on then but rather during the clean up process! ! I was sooo mad at myself for getting it on that brand new sexy little dress! Got tons of compliments on that dress that day only to never wear it again, even after spraying it immediately with Spray n Wash and using Oxy power stick on it but because I got it on my dress towards end of party when we were doing clean up that it would be ok as I used cleaning products on it right away!! My problem was that I waited till next day to wash it the next morning instead of washing it ASAP!!! Not a chance I was gonna get those avocado stains out, they were stained good!!! Worked on it 3x including wetting the spots and rubbing the powder Oxy Clean on it and only use Tide sport on our clothes plus add Oxy Clean to the entire load!!! Not one of my efforts completely worked!! I only was able to lessen the discoloration from the avocado but it was still noticeable!!! Needed Claudia's advice back then I guess...oops a bit too late for my poor dress!!! Also am so jealous that you guys have the ability to grow your own Avocado trees down there in Georgia!! I live in Washington State and obviously it gets too cold, rainy, and snowy here to grow anything like that including citrus and nut trees unfortunately!!! What my hubby would do to have those trees in our yard! We have tons of other fruit trees such as apples, pears, cherries, plums, and figs but no trees like he had in Mexico right outside his house!!!
I used to scramble eggs and Athens to grits for my kids when they were growing up. I started doing that as soon as they were old enough to eat table food.
I've never tried avocado toast with a fried egg . It looks and sounds good . I love avocado , so I know I will love this . I used to be the same way with my baby's . Except I would scramble eggs and put them in grits and they loved that . I also would feed them oatmeal with a little brown sugar in it . You feed them what they like until they get those teeth . Then they ready to eat a lot more . My baby's were healthy and I didn't take them out no where until they were at least 3 months old . I was so scared they would get sick . Thank you Paula and Claudia for sharing this with us . Love it !!
P.S. Did you see Guss' face ? He was like dog gone it....!! I wanted that toast . HAHAHA....!! 😂😂😂❤❤❤

Yes! I'd love to see more of your daughter-in-law's cooking techniques! I like the idea of adding lemon to avocado spread. I usually hard cook my egg, chop it and add it to the avocado spread.....just my personal preference. And may we see these adorable triplets when they come to visit grandma?!!!!

@Baddy Btch I don't pick up that vibe but being that Bobby didn't marry a white southern belle like his brother Jamie did, it's more than likely the thought of having a latina from Venuzuela for a DIL had to "grow" on Paula.

My family and I only eat meat, once a week. And when we cut dairy out, about 6yrs ago, not one of us have had anything more than a very minor, occasional cold in the winter.

It's better to cut the avocado into 4 pieces and peel the skin off that way your not wasting that dark green meat .
