Rener's face every time the guy pulled off a great move is why he's such a good teacher. He's a Gracie, he doesn't anything to prove so he's focused on how to get his students to be better. So fucking wholesome.
This was incredibly fluid all the way through the session. Almost zero force, it looks like, was required to apply in each transition for both of you. That blue belt is amazing.
Rener is a great teacher, for him it's not about showing dominance over his students but actually rolling in a level that examines if they retained what they learned, changing positions to see how they will act. A really caring and responsible instructor
Proof that if you want it enough, all you have to do is train. Whether it's with a CTC, another gym, the actual Gracie Academy, or... Gracie University. Awesome roll, total respect, love these types of breakdowns! Keep it playful, my friends!
Super flowy and good demonstration of some higher level technique. I've watched this video probably 10 or more times, and Everytime I learn and see something new. Rener just seems to have a counter for everything, and knows how to get passed all his opponent's defenses. That Sasae Tsurikomi Ashi (the Footsweep he did) was slick. Love watching these narrated sparring videos
Rener.. Can I just say Im a no stripe white belt, I played rugby (a tough U.K sport) for 15 year at a high level! I have broke every finger, dislocated my shoulders and broke both legs. I had to retire due to 9 concussions in 2 year. I looked for such a long time to find something to fill that gap! I recently started to roll at a gracie barra newcastle u.k! Origin bjj. As you say in your surviving first 6 months of sparring, It is so hard for a man used to dominating a sport to have his ego checked on a consistent daily basis. Your videos have helped so much, to understand the philosophy of being a white belt. The last few classes I have not used strength, well just of character and attempted just to survive and give thanks to those who take any time to teach me. I thank you! I think I will survive the 6 months. Jake Lilley.. Newcastle.. U.K
Great roll. I'm a Gracie University student and have been teaching my GF. Last night I was able to roll with my friend and he is easily dubble my waight. I never went for a sumition but from what i have learned I managed to stay on top tell he tired out and gave up. I live close to Redline Gracie JJ in OKC but I'm only home one week a month. I'm thankful for what you and your family has done for the world.
I just got my 4th stripe yesterday. Looking forward to the day I can call myself a blue belt, but I'm not in a hurry. All good things will come with hard work and dedication.
I really enjoy gracie university, I started and really enjoy the various teachings which I never thought of, I must thank you gracie brothers. I love it a lot.
Rener is an awesome teacher.. He will demolish black belts, but is so forgiving with lower belts to really meet them at their level for the most part. Even when he get's the tap, a lot of times he will let up on the choke or hold, and force the student to work their way out. Awesome job
Great job on these videos. Always awesome to get in the mind of someone like Rener. these are great to see the good and bad decisions he makes. It helps open up my game!
Rener, you are a legend with your training philosophy. I just started in Gracie Garage after 35 years of offensive Defense. I am starting at 66 years old with BJJ. I hope to one day meet you.
Hi...I am from Indonesia, there is no BJJ school in Indonesia. Rener Gracie is the best BJJ teacher online. Rener and his brother are two heroes because they were teaching BJJ online, so everyone around the world can learn BJJ from them. Please keep up the good works. Thank you Rener Gracie
Dude I love the narration, I started Jiu-Jitsu in April this year, @Millennia in Rancho Cucamonga, I fell in love, I love the language and I like these videos from you brother, I got a lot to learn, but its worth it💯💯💯 I sometimes say you gotta be a lil crazy to enjoy tapping all day as a white belt and still come back errday, but seriously the only way to be good at something is to be bad for a very long time hhahh, Thanks for the video 🙏🏼
I love watching Rener he is such a great guy and gives props where props are due . I train in Manchester NH and I couldn’t ask for better teachers they are so great at what they do
This is awesome. Out of all the jujitsu teachers I've seen your one of the best. Reminds me of my first Instructor. She was always super playful an giving advice during it. And shed give you a second to try it before she moved. So shed give you a way to stop her or counter. I've yet to find another instructor like her. An even in the white belts felt like champions when sparring with her. I wish there where far more like you out there.
This is great. It was a nice demonstration of what can go down with a seriousness dedication to Gracie a University. I train from their online course and at a certified center. Rener and his brother do an extraordinary job!
this was a really nice roll and just very pleasurable to watch the joy of coaching and bringing the lower levels up to where you are at!! much respect!! OS!!
Gonna write a testimony here. I have never been formally trained in a Jiu Jitsu School and I started out as an onlinr GJJ student. Found a nearby gym and I gotta say the difference in details is super noticeable. Gracie Jiu Jitsu does a lot in covering in-depth details and when I first rolled with students from other schools, I immediately felt the difference.
wow, this is just amazing. I mean, sometimes you see two very advanced guys and you kind of get lost in these complex moves, but since Rener is narrating everything and not going too hard on the blue belt dude, it's so much easier to understand everything that is happening.
Sensacionaaaaal!!! You just have to want to learn... the key is at the GU... to everyone, every country, every weight, every belt, every gender... PERFECT, guys. Proud of you and all GU students! You all rock!
Francisco Marquesini BJJ is about helping each other learn. Not about ego. As their saying goes. Leave your ego at the door. Why I love Gracie Jiu Jitsu
Hahaha Rener kept it soooooooo playful. Toying with em yet teaching him at the same time. A true Master Instructor Respect Master Rener Gracie, on the highest level. Oss
Great example of a master providing situations for his student to showcase their abilities. I had to wait 3 months of consistent training to roll with my first professor, just for him to keep me in omoplata for 4 minutes straight.
Interested in seeing how Anthony is doing now 5 years later? Check out the video we just posted of his submission only match with a black belt. 🤯 Rener, check him out! Mens grand prix match number 4.
At about 2:50 he has a set up for a twister. As long as he maintains good control with a deep triangle on the bottom leg, all he had to do is control the top arm, stretching it across his chest, and pin it under his shoulder. From there just crank the head back. Eddie Bravo is a wizard with it
Wow, so he learned all those techniques online and sparring with a partner in his garage, pretty cool really. besides our university (quite pricey and some classes are exclusive to students) we only have a couple of small clubs in my town, Time to go check it out :)
@@tpfmike1976 The context and goals. When fighting comparatively the goal is to win the fight against another bjj practiconer who knows essentially what you're going to do. he looks so happy and proud with each move
He's a blue belt but his technique, especially in defence is beautiful. Love seeing this.
This was actually one of the most entertaining rolls I've seen.
That foot sweep in slow motion was right out of MOVIE!!!! Beautiful and creative, love it!
rambachpro i'm definitely using it today at training 👍
rambachpro Classic trip too!Such a basic but effective technique!
rambachpro Straight out of Japanese Ju-Jitsu/Judo. Known there as Deashi Harai.
+rambachpro Advancing foot sweep. De ashi barai in Judo. Probably my favorite takedown.
+rambachpro its used in judo alot i love it tho i relly suck at it xD
This was incredibly fluid all the way through the session. Almost zero force, it looks like, was required to apply in each transition for both of you. That blue belt is amazing.
This is awesome. I want more of these types of videos.
Zvi J. Hare Agreed!
I agree great video.
Rener, Please do more of these narrated breakdowns of your sparring videos. I absolutely love them. Thank you!
That was beautiful. This is art
Pazkizzle Agreed

@Jerome b williams A bit ironic coming from you don't you think?
True
I love how much no-Gi Rener does. Shows the power of true Fundamentals, works no matter what you're wearing. I just love this!
I love how you took it a easy and let him try out what he learnt 👍🏽
Man this is so awesome, I'm so jealous of how much you can learn from rolling around with Rener Gracie. Wow, totally awesome.
Rener is a great teacher, for him it's not about showing dominance over his students but actually rolling in a level that examines if they retained what they learned, changing positions to see how they will act. A really caring and responsible instructor
Rener is amazing, he genuinely loves what he does...he makes it so interesting to watch.
Very nice roll a lot of nice techniques displayed
The flow was amazing to watch! Seeing that makes me want to train even more. Someday I'll get that blue belt :)
Did you ever get it?
How is ur training going
Well, if this 'jiu-jitsu" thing ends up not working out for Rener, he always has the option of being an auctioneer.....
Please explain for dummies
He doesn’t talk that fast
Proof that if you want it enough, all you have to do is train. Whether it's with a CTC, another gym, the actual Gracie Academy, or... Gracie University. Awesome roll, total respect, love these types of breakdowns!

He dead
Rip
What belt are you now
This is great commentary during the spar....such amazing control!
Spent a year in New Brunswick last year, lovely people and good to see BJJ reaching such places!
Great roll. I'm a Gracie University student and have been teaching my GF. Last night I was able to roll with my friend and he is easily dubble my waight. Yes Sir. This was a great tutorial/roll. I, for one, appreciate these types of videos and look forward to seeing more in the future.
I just got my 4th stripe yesterday. Looking forward to the day I can call myself a blue belt, but I'm not in a hurry. All good things will come with hard work and dedication.
That is my jiu jitsu instructor. I did not know he rolled with Rener. Wow that is great.
Awesome! Tell him his video here with Rener helped inspire me to take the same journey!
Rener this was awesome!!! Thank you for sharing, Anthony is an inspiration for those that are truly determined.
I really dig watching rener roll. Very solid yet a humble at the same time
I really enjoy gracie university, I started and really enjoy the various teachings which I never thought of, I must thank you gracie brothers. I love it a lot.

That foot sweep was awesome... Quick and seamless. Love the videos, thanks for the tips.
4 stripe white belt here. Getting better from Corona. Can't wait to start training again! These videos motivate me even more!!!

You guys are so humble. I wish I could afford to move out and train there. Rener is the perfect type of coach.
More videos like this please! Tons techniques to learn from and no stalling!

I love how you do the replays and slow mo to help us catch or see something important we may have missed
The thing I love about Rener is that he never acts like he’s better than anyone he trains. Saving up to go to my local gym!
6:59 poor guy gets a reverse arch stomp...full weight too...ouch THAT had to hurt.
If you look closely, it doesn't look like he landed directly on the foot, so maybe it wasn't as bad as it could've been.
Rener, love your commentary all the way through. You are so humble and awesome in your view and practice of jui jitsu. Please keep making more.
Anthony is a legitimate blue belt. His flow and fluidity is amazing. Big props man, keep it going !
Rewatching this a year later, having also doing Gracie online, and now also doing in person at a Gracie ctc. Inspiring!

I love watching the sparring vids with narration. It helps me to learn terminology. Thanks a million.
Rene Gracie is such a good and humble teacher. He give his student opportunity to win to raise his spirit. Nice teacher.
dude Rener remidns me of my uncle David so much! always smiling bruh
This is great. It was a nice demonstration of what can go down with a seriousness dedication to Gracie a University. I train from their online course and at a certified center. Rener and his brother do an extraordinary job!
I really love you enthusiasm and excitement Rener!
The Gracie’s are so awesome. Thanks for everything you do. specially Rener, your attitude and approach to jujitsu and life is inspirational
More videos like these please!!
Renner your awesome I been watching you for awhile. Caught my 8 yr old boy watching you !!! Love it keep up the great work!!
I'm in class twice a week but I'm studying Gracie University online, taking notes making drawings. It is truly excellent.
These narrated clips are fantastic, love it!
this was a really nice roll and just very pleasurable to watch the joy of coaching and bringing the lower levels up to where you are at!! much respect!! OS!!
Talking through Jiu Jitsu. Love it.

Thats one very good blue belt, I myself am blue belt as well but nowhere near him, he's very technical and fluid in transitions
wow, this is just amazing. I mean, sometimes you see two very advanced guys and you kind of get lost in these complex moves, but since Rener is narrating everything and not going too hard on the blue belt dude, it's so much easier to understand everything that is happening.
This guy is good. if there is any doubters about the online lessons i think this will prove it works.
blows my mind the level of skill here
Whenever i watch videos of people with much more skill than I have, I am just in awe of the grac(i)efulness.
Sensacionaaaaal!!! You just have to want to learn... the key is at the GU... to everyone, every country, every weight, every belt, every gender... PERFECT, guys. Proud of you and all GU students! You all rock!
Here in Perú is hard to learn some good jiu jitsu. Thanks for these videos, they help a lot
+Steven Cn Apparently you can learn it online:)
Me and my friend are going to practice the online courses together this summer. Can't wait!
No way is that guy a three stripe blue. The transition he did into x guard was so fluent honestly he’s rolling like a high end purple
Seriously I was like Jesus christ this dude would smash our blue belts lol
Wow reners narations are so great, i haven't taken a class yet ive learned so much on his videos i just started watching
That was some gorgeous jiu jits! Rener is so badass! Hope to meet him one day!
brilliant stuff, no ego bursting out from these people, humility
Amazing! I would appreciate it if you do more like this. I learned a lot, thx!
loved the vid especially WITH the commentary, more of these please guys. very educating.
love how Gracie has the humility to upload a video of him tapping to a student, that would fracture alot of people's ego.
Francisco Marquesini BJJ is about helping each other learn. Not about ego. As their saying goes. Leave your ego at the door. Why I love Gracie Jiu Jitsu
I like the way these guys teach...comvincing me to give this online thing a try.
Look at the smile on Rener's face after that X guard sweep. LOL. Pure joy.
🌸 omg this is my favourite spar, I’m going to practice some of those moves
How cool is this vid 🤗✨
Hahaha Rener kept it soooooooo playful. Toying with em yet teaching him at the same time. A true Master Instructor Respect Master Rener Gracie, on the highest level. Oss
I think thats my favourite video so far. Soo smooth. Awesome
Freaking awesome! Gracie BJJ always showing how much they rock. Congratulations Rener
Great example of a master providing situations for his student to showcase their abilities. I had to wait 3 months of consistent training to roll with my first professor, just for him to keep me in omoplata for 4 minutes straight.
I used to box but I love the fluidity and precision of jiu jitsu. I want to get into it.
Beautiful roll. Awesome to see you engaging your long-distance students!
I love that reverse knee on belly. It's something I've done for a long time and never really seen anyone else ever do it. I just noticed it here.
You are awesome all of the stuff and changes you have made for teaching the art!
please do more sparring videos with narrating breakdowns! great video!
Come to Australia Rener
Very nice roll!! lots of good transitions. Thanks for the video
Thank you for posting that video Rener!
Terrific to watch ! ! !
I absolutely loved this ! ! !
Interested in seeing how Anthony is doing now 5 years later? Check out the video we just posted of his submission only match with a black belt. 🤯 Rener, check him out! Mens grand prix match number 4.

Oh hey guys, what's up? 😂

besides our university (quite pricey and some classes are exclusive to students) we only have a couple of small clubs in my town,
Time to go check it out :)
I love Brazilian Jiu Jitsu awesome bro thanks for sharing makes me want to train more.
Woooow, this is one of the most beutiful rolls ,i have seen
That ankle sweep was awesome!
From a Relson Gracie blue belt, this guy looks like a very legit blue belt. The two X-guard sweeps he hit were sensational.
Nash Films an awesome blue belt indeed
Nash Films I'm confused on street jiu jitsu and tournament jiu jitsu.
What's the difference

This was awesome, at least with you explaining what was happening I had some idea as to what was going on. Once again great stuff :)
Older video but this was siiiiiiiick! Makes me wish I could train more.
2 stripe blue belt under one of Royce’s black belts here - that was beautiful..
I'm a Gracie university white belt. This gives me hope that I'm in the right track. That omoplata finish was sick. Well done brother!
Where are you at now it terms of belt progression?
