Depends on the school, location and the association. I pay $79 a month for 5 classes a week. I live in South Georgia where the cost of living is low and a lot of people don't make much money, so that's a factor.
***** I don't wanna cause drama so I won't ask what association or team your study under. However, I know that BJJ schools charge higher tuition in big cities, but the best practitioners and competitors attend those schools.
+LordBabu there were only 26 guys in history that got that belt, his father (Helio) and uncle (Carlos) created the BJJ, he was brazillian black belt national champion at the age of 22.
If this is true, then that's outstanding information. But also, as a rule of thumb in various martial arts, a red belt is symbolic of owning the training facility and also peerless skill.
+LordBabu A red belt is rewarded in lieu of a 9th or 10th degree black belt. You have to be 19 to get a black belt, and if you get a black belt at 19 the earliest possible age to get a red belt is 67. The 10th degree belt was only given to Carlos, Oswaldo, George, Gaston and Helio Gracie

Any update?
Hell yeah, brother! I’ve been doing it for 3 months. Best decision of my life. I feel great and I lost 20 lbs.
man I only trained for a few month cause I was struggling financially at the time n it was a bit expensive but it was so much fun
in fresno california at tkm they have a jiu jitsu class and its like $25 a month. i think and they have bad ass instructors
+Jesse Rodriguez I wish but I live in atl ga
Depends on the school, location and the association. I pay $79 a month for 5 classes a week. I live in South Georgia where the cost of living is low and a lot of people don't make much money, so that's a factor.
***** I don't wanna cause drama so I won't ask what association or team your study under. However, I know that BJJ schools charge higher tuition in big cities, but the best practitioners and competitors attend those schools.
Just like the rent and other bills that needa be paid bro
Haven't seen this video in a few years LOL so good to watch it again. One day (ONE DAY) I would love to have dexterity like Relson.
This is how I feel sparring each time--white belt one stripe--but I love it. Humbling and motivating at the same time.
if anyone says bjj doesnt work they dont know shit about physics or blood circulation
***** Welp, apparently you don't know shit about physics and blood circulation. I don't make the rules, man. Sorry. =/
felipepwns but this grend mster is struglen with the weit b8lt
IAmGunzNoob i promise that "struggling" was from the extra effort to not break his partner.
IAmGunzNoob you mean he was going extremely easy otherwise he could not have "struggled."
Really u guys are oblivious to trolls it seems. And yea felipepwns and aswell to force distribution to joints and vertebra.
lol "not too late to walk away, Relson."
he seems super strong and flexible
Relsen is so gracious, what an honor and all in good fun too. Such and amazing legacy! ❤
I don't even have a belt and I am so into Jiu-Jitsu lately, and videos like this one are invaluable, thumbs up, enjoyed every minute of it :)
+Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy The chess analogy is beautiful.
Relson speaks English just like he speaks Portuguese 😂 I love it.
At 2:33 he passes his guard into a submission I want that power😂😂
Very lucky to have the honour to get a chance too roll with a red belt and gain his wisdom 🙌 awesome!!
What a legend this was fun to watch.
"Get ready to say nightnight"....Proceed sto get folded like a pretzel haha!
So red belt is the highest in Jiu-jitsu?
+LordBabu Yes, but it also might indicate that the bearer of the belt owns the dojo or training facility.
+MicroClicka Okay, thank you! :)
The 10th degree belt was only given to Carlos, Oswaldo, George, Gaston and Helio Gracie
global elite vs silver
Adam silver?
More like bronze
Funny and great video overall, good to see Relson still rolling like a young man!
Love the vids...and use them as teaching guides for my teen boys... thanks guys
Imagine watching Relson and Pedro Sauer rolling! :- O
Lol. He took it easy on ya newbie!
In my experience the higher the level of the person I’m rolling with the gentler they are, but the still always win. Then afterward they tell you all your mistakes and how to fix them.
Relson is now 65 years old by the way.
Oh you're "that guy" that makes it no fun for new people huh? Chump
Yes he did... 👍
Imagine if Mr. Gracie got hold of you and he didn't want to let go - you're fucked!!
We need a "Where is he now?" video for the white belt!
The Gracie family is so awesome! I wish I could meet Relson Gracie some day!
I trained Muay Thai, but I also want to train BJJ.
Great striking and on feet skills from Muay Thai and great grappling and ground fighting skills from BJJ, then I could be a hero! Hahaha!
I really want to join tournaments and I love saving poor kids from bullies
that is good
You could really round off that with some wrestling or judo. You'll have every base covered that way.
Old man beat up a young man :D good stuff!
Old man muscle is a thing!
I don't really do BJJ, I do MT, but i'm jealous, i wanna get my ass kicked by a gracie!
try to get kneed to the chin by bwakaw xD
This is one of my favourite videos. They are having so much fun
nice of the grandmaster not to hurt him
A headchief would never hurt a white belt. Especially not on purpose
That the beauty of combat sport
what age is he if hes been training for 62 years hes doesn't look like hes even in his 60's hes's in incredible shape never mind his age
How is this guy co-host of a podcast on jiu-jitsu if he's a white belt?
he's my co host. he's a professional comedian/entertainer so he brings a good amount of experience to the podcast. plus a white belts perspective on learning Jiu-Jitsu.
+Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy makes good sense. thank you to you and your family and dedication.
You can probably compare it with any job situation: a good worker does not automatically make a good manager, and the other way round. The same way talking about a sport is not the same as doing it (and vise versa), although of course a bit of practical experience comes handy when you comment on it.
+ Mikeztarp Ouch.
+Lesley Harrys Callen is a comedian, also practices many martial arts. Relatively famous actor and is continuosly on Joe Rogan Podcast. Get your head out of your ass.
LoL awesome video and a good sense of humour all around. What a cool opportunity getting to grapple with a grand master
Haha that was so awesome!!! what an honor and what a legend
2:15 I laughed so hard.
