Thanks for sharing. Love it when you get to fish. I was born and raised in Rock Falls, IL...about 120 mi. west of Chicago right on Rt. 30. Left for the Air Force when I was 19 and have lived in Texas ever since. Love the Texas fishing.
I really love a spinner bait .most of the year though weeds they excel. No trailer for me. Usually 3/8-1/2 oz blade depends on water clarity. I caught 35 Largemouth yesterday in the wind and cool late October on an area of lake St.Clair,Mi. plus 1 pike. Not bad this time of year. Gonna check these out. Thanks
Have you ever seen the Strike King Redfish Magic spinnerbaits? They're pretty simple Colorado blades but you can change the jig head and there's no skirt. I caught a redfish with one a couple days ago and it's the first time I actually caught a fish with a spinnerbait. The Trout Magic underspin type has been working for me for redfish and trout, and I am pretty sure both baits would be good for bass. Today I caught a 25" redfish in my kayak with 10 lb braid and a popping cork with a jig. That was a fun battle, they're strong fish that keep going. It's going to be good fish tacos in a little while.
The firework jig is money, so I have wanted to try the catchco compact spinnerbait out. Can get those through Karls! Gotta appreciate Karl’s support to military overseas by shipping to military post office boxes. Look forward to trying this one out, thanks for the video Matt!
Matt I have some of these in the 1/2 oc. First First I caught was an 18" Smallie plus blacks. Works great regardless how fast you reel it. I didn't use a trailer. Great Spinnerbait 👍
I could tell it was a great bait after you put in the water & let it swim a little, that's a bite I wish could be great again, in the past 5 yrs, bass here will not look at or not chase it, I'll check it out though, was that a yellow or a chartreuse color? Great video!👍
Matt, what kind of knot did you tie? It looked like a San Diego jam knot. The spinner bait looks a lot like a War Eagle finesse spinnerbait. It's one of my favorites.
Now I hardly ever throw 1/2 ounces spinner baits but that turtle back blade is straight money. I order them in #6 and #7 sizes and change out blades on most my spinner baits. I throw it 65% of the time.
Good looking, SB. I fish turtle back blades myself. I like them. When you were in the investment world in Chicago, did you happen to work at Morningstar?
I’m going to get some of them I fish rivers with undercuts like you fishing there and skip underneath the banks and anyone who fishes regular spinner baits know a big bait or blades will blow the best of us out 😂
Matt, great video on the compact spinnerbait, I’ve got a question about spinnerbait wire durability. At what point do you essentially scrap them for parts or do you just wait for the untimely break to happen?
@@MattStefanFishing thanks for the info do you have any tell tale signs you use for knowing when they’ve been weakened? Or do you just base it on how many times you have to bend them back to shape?

I like compact spinner baits. I pitch them into cover like a jig when the water is high.
Nice!
I never even thought of trimming the skirt on a spinnerbait before but it makes perfect sense so I trimmed all of mine after this video! Thanks Matt
Glad I could help!
Ryan hasn’t quit smilin for 3 days lol ! 😊
He’s always smiling!
So fitting this video just came out. I've been consistent on small spinners this week. I lost the only one i had and I'm looking for more. Thanks man.
I always see them at Walmart
Great to hear!

im very impressed
Nice to see it produce, what is clarity where you were fishing?

Love a spinner bait. Nothing like bumping it along a lay down or across the rocks. 👍🎣
so fun to fish!
I like that little firework jig. I’m definitely going to order a few of these and give ‘em a shot.
they make good stuff!
👍👍👍 thanks Matt, I'm partial to War Eagle spinners but I'll definitely have to check these out they look great.
Thanks for watching

Chartreuse
Nice spinnerbait, I’ll pick up a few from tackle warehouse. Also, what scissors did you use? I like the short but robust blades
they are electricians scissors
Thx

miller knot

awesome!
Turtle Back blades work like a dream in Zimbabwe . Buddy lost a 15lb + on a recent trip . Snapped the spinnerbait in two
Good looking, SB. I fish turtle back blades myself. I like them. When you were in the investment world in Chicago, did you happen to work at Morningstar?
nope i worked for CBOT and then merged with CME
@MattStefanFishing Thanks. Futures. When my promo boat deal ended, I purchased a Ranger with an oil Future contract.
I’m going to get some of them I fish rivers with undercuts like you fishing there and skip underneath the banks and anyone who fishes regular spinner baits know a big bait or blades will blow the best of us out 😂
They work great!
Just curious what boat are you fishing out of ?
video coming soon
Matt, great video on the compact spinnerbait, I’ve got a question about spinnerbait wire durability. At what point do you essentially scrap them for parts or do you just wait for the untimely break to happen?
i will use them for practice or fun fishing if i think they hav been weakened but not in the tourney
@@MattStefanFishing thanks for the info do you have any tell tale signs you use for knowing when they’ve been weakened? Or do you just base it on how many times you have to bend them back to shape?
Have you used the Bassman Compact spinnerbaits, Matt? These look pretty similar in compact size. How does this compare to those?
i have not
What knot was that?
Miller knot
Also Matt forgot to say I fished this in brush didn't have any issues. I think it didn't snag as regular Spinnerbaits
Agreed
Matt, I want to pick up a cpl spinnerbaits, sv3’s are popular, what say you, sv3 or bite getter?
Man i do like both!
Would a trailer hook be beneficial on this bait?
you could use one but i generally dont use them on spinnerbaits
what is the knot you used? It looks like a trilene knot, but not exactly.
Miller knot
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
What was that knot ???
Miller knot
fox river?
Nope
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Made in chine.
thanks for watching
