Back around 86 I sent Mr. Parker a personal letter, (I was kid, around 12-13, he was living in Denver NC and I just outside Charlotte). Mr. Parker took the time to respond back, (to a random fan he didn’t know). Several months later, I met Mr. Parker in Charlotte at a restaurant, (he was there with his family). The man was gracious enough to not only speak to a young fan, but even remembered the letter I had sent him! True legend of the sport.
They don’t make legends like him anymore. Down to earth. Al Lindner is another person that always has time to talk with you and help you out. Big hearts for sure.
This right here is what bass fishing is missing. Pure knowledge and wisdom. This clip is a great editorial on spinnerbaits. Learned more than 20 plus years. I remember launching these as far as I could in Canada on rice lake and we would ware them out in the evenings. Todays fishing is sad and I hope bass steps up And regulates the ffs it’s ruining lakes, making fishing unwatchable and I feel it’s giving anglers an unfair advantage. It’s like deer hunting with a drone. Things re getting out of hand. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us. God bless you and your family. I’ve been a life long fan, hanks a class act, top hand and we’re blessed to have him still involved and paving the way.
This has been my go to spinner bait since I was a kid when you first brought this bait out it’s a hammer 🔨!! I use it coast to Coast through Canada for smallmouth everywhere. Absolute best spinner bait - love it !! thank you Hank. May God continue to bless you and all those things that you love.
I was in Richmond in 89 when u won. One of the most exciting classics ever. I’m from chesterfield so I was pullin for woo.. still loved seein ya win. Huge fan hank, miss those days of B.A.S.S. Will never be the same
Has always been my go to Spinnerbait. When they discontinued them, I found them on clearance as Sports Authority. I bought about 25 of them. I still have a few that are still in the package. Glad to see them back. I remember the advice about Spinnerbait color from the old days. “Color doesn’t matter. It can be chartreuse and white or if you want, you can use white and chartreuse!”
Back in the early 1990's (if I remember correctly), I caught my PB, actually several on this bait in Virginia. We were in the Navy for 22 years, when we got back to freshwater fishing, years later, I could no longer find these. I just ordered several today. Thanks for making these again, especially in the USA. May God richly bless you and your family!
WOW Hank Parker I haven't seen you in years Buddy Ro...so glad to see you doing well. I got a short story about my World War II US Army Dad we went fishing in his 1987 monark fish and ski with 90 horse Johnson and he wanted to head in and I said troll lures behind the boat. So I was running the trolling motor and him and a friend of ours were trolling also. I told my dad here take my pole and troll my lure and in minutes he caught the largest crappie he caught that year with your Hank Parker classic chartreuse and white with the gold blades spinner bait. He passed in 1999 and would have been 101 this year. Thanks my brother for giving me that memory. Love to you and your family. God bless ✝️☝️🕊😇❤️🔥🙏👏🫶👍🇺🇲
You never cease to amaze Mr. Parker. Truly a treasure to our sport & the world, you've been as passionate & informative since I started watching you nearly 40 years ago. I bought the original HP spinnerbait for the wire twist & Indiana blade, nothing comes close to that thump. Slow rolling, yo yo, waking it like a buzzbait, etc. it's versatility is unmatched. Thank you for giving us a bait to pursue our fishing with confidence. Peace & Blessings
I have fished that spinnerbait ever since I started to get into bass fishing which has been around 35 plus years ago, it has been my go-to bait regardless of where I fish, regardless of the time of year and regardless of water conditions. I can honestly say I have never been on the water and not thrown that bait, some days that is all I use. I live in the Northwest and fish the Columbia River the majority of the time. I did well in bass tournaments, winning some and placing well in others and it was always due to that exact spinnerbait. When asked what I used back in the day to catch nice Smallies on the Columbia and I said the white or white and chartreuse spinnerbait many competitors always questioned whether I was being truthful or not, and I was. I have fished with a lot of different bass fisherman who are what I call good sticks and have made believers out of them by the end of the day. It is my confidence bait, and it has produced many big fish awards for me. I call in my little HP spinner bug. I can honestly say I have caught thousands of small mouth and large mouth in all the years I have been bass fishing, and I can also honestly say that at least 65 to 70 percent of those came on the HP Spinner bait. Thank you, Mr. Parker, for, what I consider, one of the best bass fishing lures ever produced.
Great insight Hank, I to just absolutely love throwing the ol’spinnerbait, I’ve tried replacing it with a swim jig because of its skipping ability and chatterbait but I just keep coming back to the ol’spinnerbait. I believe there’s just something about the flash and vibration of the blades that just triggers baits..I’ve been making my own for years now but you just sold me, I’m going to pick up a couple and give that thin wire a try.
I love it! I caught my first bass on a spinnerbait back in the 80s and im 50s years old now and my go to is a spinnerbait still today. Hank you are a true icon to Bass fishing and I've ben folowing you, Bill Dance, Roland Martin and Jimmy Houston my entire life. I love KVD, but I also know he would put you in the GOT category himself. Tight lines🎣
I was a FieldStaff member for Manns for many years back late 80s and 90s, and I placed and won alot of tournaments on that spinnerbait. It gets the Strikes !
I have the first one ever sold at my local Walmart the day they hit the shelf old skirt gone and painted the blades but still have it and the trailer one or tow that the ribbed but more like wedge on that side with them I love that spinning man I miss the good old days
That spinnerbait is in a class of its own I know ,my cousin and I destroyed the bass at the east river in st marks florida back in the mid 90s.my cousin caught a 5 pound bass right before dark and the waters came alive.we had the time of out lives.there was a older couple bream fishing about 150 ft from us and I remember the lady saying. "Yalls gots what's theys wants donts ya".I said yes mam a hank parker classic is all you need.thanks for the classic memories hank. I've always been a fan.
How can we watch your old shows? I would love to see that one show you did in a place where you had recently won a big tourney. I remember you idled across a shallow backwater bay to a deeper creek in the back where you were flipping a worm in laydown wood and hammered them. That Hank Parker's Outdoor show was a classic show I will never forget.
I loved your spinnerbait back in the day and I’m sure I will now but I have questions. What rod, reel and line do you recommend and the length, action and power do you also recommend? I see you wasn’t using the never fail pistol grip we used back in the day in this video, why?
I got my 1st qualifying size musky tournament fish on this bait & a number of nice size bass on this bait. So glad I can still get a bait that's time proven vs so many over hyped new baits.
Hi Hank, Joe here, been following you since the 90's. I fish the California delta and tributaries. I want to purchase your classic spinner bait, what weight should I get? 1/4, 3/8 or 3/4 oz? Thanks in advance
Nice to see you again, (childhood fan), just subscribed. I do a daily devotional at Jimmy's vhannel; I'll have to tell him that I'm switching to your spinnerbaits, lol. Seriously though, that was a masterclass in SB design, thanks for the education.
Hey old timer. I have found that using heat shrink over the wire twist, if the line gets wrapped behind it , it will not get pinched in the wire twist and break. From one old timer to another.
Wish you would bring those worms back .Won a lot of money with those . Only have a few left been hoarding them . Glad the spinnerbait is back. I will tell Misus Santa were to shop
Amazing as it is the Spinnerbait is NOT the “average “ anglers most friendly tool. There’s just to many other options that catch numbers just as good without the “pro” level tweaking
Idk why but I never caught a fish using a spinnerbait in my river in Ohio. I only use it when it's muddy and I throw it against laydowns and never got a bite. I even have a shad trailer on it. 😢
You haven't begun to understand. I can teach you. I am the best. All spinnerbaits do the same thing. A wire twist will get it to tilt more than anything. You need to only lock the R bend. The only thing right on this spinnerbait that seems right is the size. If you don't believe me, I challenge you, Hank. Your spinnerbsit v. mine. Simple as that. Easiest money I will make.
@@FL_Native_68 how is it hate why I tried to help you? I'm telling you secrets. How is it hate when I challenge the best? I will even challenge Megaass. As for YT channel, I'm trying. It's highly likely.
I can honestly say I was buying the ³/⁴ oz for the last 15 to 20 years. It is an absolute giant killer slow rolled in deep water ponds all over central Florida. Thank you for giving us this bait. It's accounted for 2 fish that weighed 11 pounds 2 oz and a 13 pound 4oz bass for me on the same day
@@braddavis4472 no. Actually I throw it out to the deepest part of the pond and I count it down until it stops. If I get a count down number greater than 10 I give my rod a quick jerk to get my bait off the bottom then I only crank my reel fast enough that I can feel the blades pulsing and occasionally during the retrieve I stop and let it flutter down again and start all over. Good luck 🤞. Oh my secret ponds are spread out around the sea world area. Best one is right behind a fire station. Good luck 🤞

Hank what’s your favorite size line, rod and ratio reel for throwing your Spinnerbait?
When can we buy the new spinnerbait and where ? I really like that bait mr Hank
Hank. Hopefully I get a reply. Question is. What you think 🤔 of all these new reels. Rods and line. Compared to. 2980’s.
When will the 3/4oz. be back in stock?
I got to try these spinnerbaits. Its by far my lure that produces the most big bass.
Also a Northern Pike slayer!🎣🐟🐊🇨🇦

Right now! Literally just happened right now 😅
I just ordered 2
Of the 3/4 oz
I see that other lure you are working on :-)
Caught my biggest bass 12.54 on a manns classic , laugh 30lb mono with 5'6" pistol grip in very close quarters reed pockets.
I want to buy some , that double makes that rod tip do the Fa La La I call it , and that catches bass , that thump
The fire and enthusiasm still burns. I have upped the weight on my baits the last couple years.
Nice 😊

💯💯
Now this is what I call fishing
I’ve stared making spinnerbaits about 6 months ago. It’s no joke making run right.
How do you get them ?
