MY PROFILE:
I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn't have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. I have now fallen in love with making videos about fishing and delivering it to you. Follow along the journey...it should be an honest and fun ride! - Розваги
Always been a fan of the cutting point. Like the XXX heavier wire version at times too.
Really good stuff thanks Really going to use those hooks watch you all the time great video Thanks Todd
Great video! I totally agree and really liked you showing the line tie and hook point, so key.
That’s one badass hook!
Totally agree! Great hook!
I like how you keep things simple, If it works stay with it.
I AGREE!! I've been using these for years!!!
100% love the no b.s. mindset - actual on-the-water applications and experiences with the hooks. Have always used Gammys and Trokars but I will def be picking some of these up, especially for the C-rig.
Used this exact hook 10 years ago and absolutely loved it. Got away from it for newer and "better" things. Definitely going to put it back in the lineup this year. Would love to see a video on how you rig a flipping tube and what hook you use for it if you still flip a tube
Todd, I started using them last year when you told me about them, they are great buddy, thank you
👍
Yeah man i completely agree i like throwing the 1/0 through 4/0 extra wide gaps as well... ended up finding a bunch of 4/0 Haymaker hooks at a bait shop somewhere i think it was toledo tackle and bought them out and thats been my flipping hook every since. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
Todd, I appreciate your opinion and I am going to try it out to see if it works for me. Thanks so much
Great Hooks!!!
I'll definitely give the offset worm hook a try on the drop shot/ power shot. I haven't ever thought about using it. Just always have used a actually drop shot hook which doesn't have that great of a landing ratio iny exsperiance.
I'll even rig an elastek trd on one and it sinks not only slow but flat level horizontal 2\0 it's awesome a Texas rigged ned trd weightless that hook is the perfect weight to ratio that I have found
Yup!
I've always used gamakatsu ewg, I'm going to try these
I like the Owner shot lock hooks for dropshot baits here in AZ....
The Haymaker is an awesome hook. If you can get it.
you got me HOOKED!
Owner + O'shaughnessy = the best
Hi Todd, would love to see a hydro wave breakdown video. What’s your favorite sounds, volume level, speaker direction etc..
I will definitely try these. Dude get Strike King to make a hybrid hunter magnum, the normal one's are great at catching muskies and a bigger model would kick ass!
Cool, then I'll watch it... I have only been able to get 2 packs of haymakers, sense they been out of stock. They have great hookups with hook point being offset of the line tie. In your experience what situations is it an advantage/disadvantage to use a haymaker ewg vs a offset worm hook?
Thank you for this video. I am a. Old man and always wondered why this hook or that hook abs could never decide. Now I know what hooks to buy. Too bad you do t have a link to them. I did not understand what you said the name was. I did save the video so I can go back and look when spring gets close.
That fish catch video made me laugh, could see the wheels turning. Maybe backwards.
I'll give those a try. I prefer offset worm hooks over EWG s when I can so I'm all about it.
These are kind of a hybrid hook
Just look closely at the bend
Great video, no need to over complicate things !!!!
Owner hooks great hooks .
Todd, the most important thing about this hook is you can actually buy it, unlike the Haymaker!!! What happened?
Not sure I've asked and I think its a production thing
I have a bunch of haymakers, absolutely love em.
@@waynelagarde7956Let me buy some from you
To thine own self be true Todd 😊👍💯
The haymakers are always out of stock on TW, I found another hook almost same as the haymakers on a different tackle site. I've been using this summer. It's had really good hookup ratio way better than a standard ewg
I use the same hooks. I prefer a 2/0 for drop shot though.
That’s the hook I said I used, the 3/0 for c-rig the 2/0 for drop shot
I went to the owner offset in an 11/0 for buzzing magnum worms over pads and greatly increased hookups.
So for the rage bug what would you throw?
That HAYMAKER IS THE $HITTT
You like it better than the haymaker? I started using the haymaker because of a video you made last year and I can't get away from it because I have so much faith in it now that I've been using for a better part of a year now. The way the hook point is designed with that space between it and the line tie.. that's what made me go out and try them when you made your video about them.. not throwing any shade just asking if you like this hook better than that one now?
When do you use the haymaker over this hook? Thanks!
What is the deal with the haymaker hook ?
Were can you order them from an thanks
Are you on the whole tungsten everything or do you fish lead only being in TX?
I throw almost all tungsten
Have you ever had a bass shake the hook out of that swing head connection?
no, I was wondered the same thing first or it breaking. Never had an issue
Haymamker 2/0 is great for drop shottinh
Hey Todd, why don't they make hooks with a longer barb, so bass do not come unpinned as much, especially when they jump?
I don’t think they come off for that reason. There are tons of reason most because they do penetrate on the initial hook set
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 Ya, you are probably right. I wish I had the machining to find out. First thing would be an ultra-thin titanium hook, paired to a longer barb. With braid and a stiff rod, I think you might be able to overcome the penetration. I know if I had a hook stuck in my hand, I would rather it be a short barb over a long one.
Thought it was going to be the Hay Maker
The Haymaker is the best built for certain things, they don't have as many sizes etc..... I just think this is the best all around for multiple applications if you had to buy a hook that could do everything. I would still throw the Haymaker over this hook for a big worm, sight fishing things like that, but this hook can do a lot.
I loaded up on Owner Haymaker hooks at a premium price because YOU said THAT was the best worm hook about a year ago. You even had a video of your kid catching bedding bass using that hook. What changed?
A year ago you said the Haymaker was the best hook ever. Please do a short video on when you would use each of those two hooks.
I will, I said this might be the best all around hook for multiple applications. if you were to have one hook.
The fish you hooked you were using an EWG hook.
Do you prefer it over a haymaker??
Just different, I’ll make a video on it
What happened to the haymaker being the best hook ever
Todd if I change out my gamakatsu offset round bends for owners, i start missing fish. We are not going put on the🥊's, not letting you off that easy, me beating you up in 30 sec. You got fish with only googan baits for two weeks 😂😂😂
Don’t be throwing no sissy rods when you change them out😂😂😂
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 🤔 are you saying I need put my falcon rods by the road or only use falcon rods
Googan baits huh. Hahaha
I throw the gatsu but, it's like anything else when you find what you like its hard to try something new
@@toddcastledinefishing5924lol
Only hook they make ! 4 comes through cover way better than 5 though.
Rarely do people make easy good comments this is one. Helpful and to the point love it. Also makes me curious as to why that is
Todd, are you now promoting these in hopes to create a 3yr backorder like the Haymakers? 🤣
😂😂
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
