I think the tush is better in grass than a traditional jig because when the traditional jig head falls into the grass the general physics and design basically set the hook into the grass as soon as we retrieve it. With the tush having belly weight it lays flat and the hook action/point isn't directed into cover......long way of saying you have a genius design of a jig!!!!
WOW!!!!! The HAWGS love THE TUSH!! IMPRESSIVE!!! Thanks for the time and effort it takes to do these on-the-water demos. Best stuff on UA-cam!! 🖐High Five!!
I didn’t realize I misspelled weedless. However, on our grass lakes down here, a weedless version would truly help when working the bait through the grass to openings. Looking forward to buying some when they come out. He with a spinner attached I would get rid of all of my other swim bait hooks. I am pretty sure I can invision a B way to do both.
The TUSH is one of my favorite baits. I have caught 3-5 pound small and largemouth from three feet of water to 25 feet. In deeper water they often hit it on the fall. When the fish are skittish, I like to just crawl it along the bottom
How does that setup work as far as the bait rolling on its side? Seems like it may also do well in that regard? Just thinking about what you mentioned when comparing traditional jigheads to the tush.
Matt the tush flat works. I’m rigging just like what you are in the video. Out of the kayak I will rotate through a under spin a crank and the tush with live scope to target fish
I'm so glad you guys did this because I use smaller swimbaits and the larger Tush was wrecking everything, I tried to put on it. The weight was just too big for anything under about 4 inches. These should be perfect for the smaller stuff I like to throw where I fish. I'm not sure what size hover rigs I got but, they turned out to be too large as well- I needed smaller stuff. I'll use what I got- but I'll have to wait until I hit the Tenn. River or somewhere like that, somewhere larger baits work well.
Oh man I could use all 3 sizes here in the Chesapeake Bay. I'll have to order some tomorrow. I want to be one of the first, or the first, to catch saltwater fish on them. So far I like the Hover Rigs and I need to try them more. They definitely work for spotted sea trout, redfish and flounder like I figured they would. I meant to get 3/8 Tush hooks but I got 3/4 somehow and I haven't fished in deep enough water or with big enough baits to try them yet. So I need to order more sizes. Trout and redfish are definitely moving and biting more, and stripers are on the way. It's a good time to test stuff.
When I bought some hover rigs I bought 1 3/16 small tush haven't had a chance to use yet but it's coming! That 1st SM didn't like you touching it's belly cause he gave you a bath😂
Thanks for sharing Matt I like the nose down fall of a ball head .It really gets that tail kicking with a paddle tail.I get a lot of bites on the fall because of that action. With that being said I feel the t.u.s.h.would be great on a bait without that paddle tail action .
HI Matt , Ijust got a Savage Gear Line Thru Pike . It's 8'' and weighs 2 ounces. This will be the very first time I fish with a bait this big in the rivers of Up State NY. If I do this what braid line or any line do you recommend , Thanks , Bob
nope i was running a weedline that i was looking at visually. i explain in the video how i used the wind driven current to position the fish on the weedline
I'm going thru small mouth with draw and now your bumming me out. The weather has sucked this year, as we've gotten tons of rain all summer and due for more rain Fri thru Sun. Again! The river and lakes all have been like a chocolate shake all summer. I've built two rods using what I would have spent on gas. Want some rain? Come and get it!
Matt hi . I sent an email through to Core tackle regarding ordering some heads . Got no reply . How do I get my hands on dome here in South Africa ? . Cheers
Man....I REALLY miss fishing the waters up north. You threw out, and never quite new what you're were gonna get. smallmouth, largemoutn, crappie, walleye.....or even a big perch. And, the lakes were relatively deep and clear. Florida's got some great fishing down here, but it's COMPLETELY opposite, on most lakes.
@@MattStefanFishing I damn near blew out a boat engine fishing on Lake Apopa, part of the Harris Chain. Used to be a cesspool, but it’s massive, and they’re trying to clean it up, so they stocked it with a million largemouth fingerlings serveral years back. So, I figured, A) Those fish should be fully grown by now…..and B). It was polluted so no one’s going to be eating anything out of it (although, don’t put anything past Floridians). However, of all the research I did absolutely nothing said ANYthing about the 2nd biggest lake in Florida having an ever age depth of 2ft. I didn’t mind the alligators, snakes, etc, etc….but wondering at any given moment that you could destroy your boat engine, or a trolling motor, tends to put a damp on things. That said, I didn’t catch anything under 4lbs that day. Thank fully none of them were glowing, or had two heads. All in all, that sums up Florida fishing. That right there sums up Florida fishing.
I actually have some similar heads I bought back in the 70's. Never found a good use for them. They are not as high a quality as yours and sport a cheap gold hook.
"Tush right in the center of the face. Gotta love that." 😂
haha!
😂
Sweet! I love the TUSH. Can't wait to try the little on on 3" Spark Shad .
awesome!

Nice presentation for the TUSH!
Thanks!

Thank you very much!
Saw you on Tackle Shop live tonight, i be stopping at the shop on my way home from fishing tomorrow .
Awesome! that was a fun show to be on!
I would love to see a seedless version.
I love the Tush.
working on it!

Tournament winner smallie Matt! Getting me those hooks ASAP!
Awesome! you'll love them!
This solved my swimbait hook deciding ,TUSH from now on out
Awesome! more sizes coming!
Like the action of the tush!! Really changes the action of the swimbait!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!
yep!
Just got my order of TUSH jigs in, Thanks!!
Right on!
Thanks Matt
you bet!
Nice bag 👍
I hope you take the offer to do a Bass Anger Therapy with Andrew and Todd. I think you'd have fun.
I would love that!
Hey Matt,
Just wondering if you can use the Dark Sleeper in similar circumstances?
You can try it but it wouldn’t have worked as well on that lake

fantastic!
Ordered mine yesterday!
Awesome!
That's a good looking bait ! Thanks for sharing.
Yep!
That's a DANDY. Thanks for the new TUSH baits. I will purchase some soon.
Thanks for your support!
Good video Matt, I'll have to try them.👍
thanks!
How does that setup work as far as the bait rolling on its side? Seems like it may also do well in that regard? Just thinking about what you mentioned when comparing traditional jigheads to the tush.
It has way more belly roll
Matt the tush flat works. I’m rigging just like what you are in the video. Out of the kayak I will rotate through a under spin a crank and the tush with live scope to target fish
Sounds great!
I just came back from northwest Ontario 🇨🇦 the white keitech was a killer up there for smallmouth and walleye 👍🐟
so good!
Great vids Matt. Thanks for the tips. Can you use the tush for a 2.8 fat keitech? Best size swimbait?
2.8 is a little small but can be used. the 2/0 hooks are better for 3.3 and 3.8. we have finesse sizes coming by the end of the year
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing! I will try that presentation. I would like to see 1/8 oz with #1 hook.
awesome!
Looks great. You're still using the Miller knot. Any comments about it?
i absolutely love it!
Another great video. I'm definitely going to get some of these hooks. Did you film this the same day you were speed cranking the Dime?
Same weekend
I need to get some, ive been having to much fun on the hover rig lol . But yesterday was the first day I didn't catch one on it
the TUSH and the hover rig are killers!
@@MattStefanFishing Oh I'll definitely be getting some

we will also have some finess TUSH coming out by end of year!
@@MattStefanFishing Can't wait- I'm excited to see where you guys go with the company.
Just got some of these have not tried yet with so many techniques hard to decide which to go with I like them all
I hear you!

make sure you check out the new 4/0 hook 3/16 oz hover rig with a beefed up hook and weedguard!
When I bought some hover rigs I bought 1 3/16 small tush haven't had a chance to use yet but it's coming! That 1st SM didn't like you touching it's belly cause he gave you a bath😂
haha yep!
Matt, what knot are you tying here? And do you have a related video available?
Yep it’s the Miller knot here’s a very demo i did on it ua-cam.com/video/gBRniFfsP0o/v-deo.htmlsi=uI-MabA5F17n9erY

its a winner!
Matt I'm. Curious what knot did u tie on that first swimbait u rigged up bud. Been looking for a new one for faster change overs in baits ?? Thanks
MIller Knot
I really enjoyed this one, full of tips and Im going to order some of the Tush heads, if they work like the Hover rig then Im sure they are amazing!!!
they are!

braid will be better when fishing around toothy critters
I was hoping you'd show us what lure you rig up with the 7/0 quarter ounce. Maybe in the next vid.
Fish The Moment will have a killer video with the 7/0 1/4 oz coming soon!
Do you use the stop and go retrieve most of the time? Same retrieve for Largemouth
i do a little of everything
Would be great to see the Tush with bigger hooks with the lighter weight
We have a 7/0 hook 1/4 oz
hay matt i just tried out the tush today and it just killed them looks like this will be my new favorite bait.
It’s so good!
Dang... love the ease of the swimbait head. Got my money. UGH. lol
Thanks!
Can core tackle please come out with a rush head that will work in a 2.8 size
Working on it
I have discovered that TUSH tackle is easier to rig with Keitech 3.3s compared to the smaller Core Tackle tackle.
sounds good
Matt, any chance Core will make non-lead options for us in the lead banned northeast?
looking into it
🍺Nice fish. Enjoyed it.🤠
Thanks!
I got some of the 7/0 3/4 ounce but i'm not sure what size keitech swimbait to use. Suggestions? Thanks!
6.8
What size/action rod were you using? Also, don't leave home without a scale! That was a beast!
7’3 light MH fast action
Did you find that spot with live scope?
nope i was running a weedline that i was looking at visually. i explain in the video how i used the wind driven current to position the fish on the weedline
Hey Matt, I see you were using 10# line, what rod were you using? NMB873?
CB906
Thx Matt
Would these work on bigger swimbaits like 120mm or bigger ?
absolutely. we have several different size and use the 7/0 hook version in baits as big as 8 inches
@@MattStefanFishing thanks for the reply. Good to hear. Trying to find some thing different try.

Yep
Talk about the knot you used at the beginning…
Looks like an improved trilene knot.
miller knot its my favorite heres a video i did on it ua-cam.com/video/gBRniFfsP0o/v-deo.htmlsi=S3svaFYDERZg1omv

What ? A 6 pounds smallies with no scale in the boat 🚤…. Come on Matt … 😢..😂😅😂
i need to get a bubba scale
