The author does like to from scratch, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.
Man. If only someone would do a whole video about spontaneous combustion of shop rags soaked in linseed oil. That would be handy.
PLEASE do a project with the burnt section of wood from your fence!!!
How cool would it be if he made it a cloth garbage can with some kind of ventilation in it
....did you not do a video on spontaneous combustion?
@@spellfireforge yeah.....I've made mistakes before.....the most recent being that I posted a comment here knowing that some buffoon would comment on something he/she likely know nothing about. That's my most recent.....how about you?
@@nathansilver9190hehehe
It's called sarcasm. We are just having fun at Jason's expense. No one hurt so all is good,
I think the fire department would like to come out to "nothing" than to not come out and find that it wasn't nothing. Pretty sure theyre grateful that you had it handled, even though they did help you handle it more.
You gotta love Jason for throwing his sponsor's products into the trash lol 26:39
Man, if only someone here on UA-cam would have made some sort of an educational video on oliy rags and spontaneous combustion, then you would not have had this problem! O, wait... what? 😉
The 'Aistream' is coming along really nice, Jason!
👍👍👍
The fact that you put out a video of your progress every week shows how much you hustle - these are very time consuming detailed jobs and you're doing amazing considering it's your first time and you are loaded with self doubt (at least you pretend to be). Definitely be proud of your work.
He’s got people.

Love it when the Foreman comes to visit. When you said "That's not creepy!" I busted out laughing. Really enjoying these airstream build videos. Thank you!
8:20, as a father, all our hard work is paid off from a simple gesture like a hug and kiss from our children. I can't wait to get home from work today and give my boys a squeeze and a kiss, makes all my worries melt away.
I like the little “hidden” Bourbon storage. Though, may I suggest bracing and padding? That trailer will see up to a 9.0 earthquake as you drive down the road, (higher if it’s a gravel road or I-55 in Missouri), and I don’t want to see you lose that wonderful amber goodness. Also, the cleanup is murder, (ask me how I know!).
I suspect he won't actually use that space as bourbon storage. The high proof will eat through the corks over time. Wine is typically low enough proof which is why it is stored on it's side.
In response to the altitude change that is a big deal. When I drove tractor trailers certain loads had specific routes I had to take to avoid elevation changes. Bags of chips were the worst offenders.
How do you know?
Haha I came here to add my two cents on similar lines. Definitely have a care of how you store things on a road trip. Particularly evaporative glassy flammable things over your fancy electronics. May I recommend this become a place for an extra change of bed linens instead?
Without a doubt, the most talented functioning alcoholic on UA-cam
23:06 Such a little snippet of the video and yet this is my favorite part haha love it
That fancy shmancy new pocket hole machine is pretty darn cool. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Zip zap zoop. You got pocket holes.
Love the cameo of your son!
Always trying new woodworking techniques...love the shou sugi ban fence!
One of the best comments ever.
Very good work. Thanks for.sharing
BMM should do a video on how Linseed oil can spontaneously combust! 🤣🤣
@@davddd81He already did a video on it after a friend's shop caught on fire due to some rags. He really needs to remember to put the tags in a metal container... Where if they combust... It won't catch anything else on fire.
@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va I know. That was my joke 😏
Bourbon Moth...Wooden Fence Rebuilding....😊😊😊😊.....Glad everything is Okay👍👍👍👍👍
The best part of any of your videos is your love for your son. As a father there’s nothing better that time with your kids! Never let that go!
Ive gotta say man, you've got a lucky ass foreman. I grew up a foreman with no one to be in charge of, and didn't realize the damage it caused me until i was grown and had foreman of my own. I gotta give flowers where they are due man, excellent woodworker, even better MAN.
Hey there! Fellow whiskey lover here! I've learned a lot from your videos and I really appreciate your delivery. I just thought I'd mention after seeing this and your coffee table (bourbon table) build that it's best not to store spirits on their side. With wine, you want to keep the cork wet for a good seal for long-term storage, but the higher alcohol percentage in whiskey and other spirits can eat away at the cork and make it fall apart.
In any case, thank you very much! I always try to support amazing content creators like you via your partners and referral links
Fill a bucket with water to throw your rags in,wow thank goodness it didn't catch on your home ,I love the videos by the way ❤
Hey 😊 as i always say, everybody should learn to use Ticking sticks ! An old tool easy to make to "scribe" easily any forms in one go !
That's a beautiful shoshugi-ban fence you've got there.
Even though it's not related to the video...
I just want to say I hope your having a good day, you're doing great, and stay safe.
You should put out a video on the dangers of different rags and oils and the possibility of spontaneous combustion!! 🥸😏
Man, I wish you were my dad. You are awesome
I just sat here and watched? Craig got me to apply a lot of Rubio when you weren't looking, so get off my back :-)
Lol, even after you did a video on spontaneous combustion. Glad you and the family are safe.
Imagine the firefighters being fans of the channel and asking why you didn't listen to your own advice.
That thing is looking sexy af. Really makes me want to start working on building a camper topper for my truck.
Man buys an Airstream and renovates it just to store Bourbon. I like it!
If the foreman is into legos you should get him involved in FLL (First Lego League). It’s a Lego based robotics league. He will LOVE it!!
flexing on that bourbon collection!!
Hi Jason. Everything looks great. I think you are going to need a lot more ventilation for your inverter charger. That Victron Multiplus is a fantastic unit (I have one), and it puts off a lot of heat when charging or Inverting. I ended up adding a 12 Volt DC cooling fan with an air inlet hole. I added a thermostat to the fan so it would come on and off as needed. Good luck finishing out your Airstream.
I agree, and I hate to say it but you should modify the front of the cabinet to give access to the interior. Working on that gear through a narrow slot from above will be almost impossible.
+ there should be
some fire retardant coating as well.
@@rgzutshinothing catches fire in the entire video, all will be good.
Looking forward to the upcoming "New Fence" video
Sweet bourbon flex at the end.
Can't wait to possibly run into you at a RV park. I'll bring my own bourbon!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
8:17 Yeah my kids are the same, and they like to see when I'm working too. 😁👍
Up 🎊🎊
The end is getting closer, looks good
There was this one woodworker on UA-cam that made a whole video testing all the different types of stains and how easily the spontaneously combust. It was pretty informative, and entertaining. You should look it up and maybe you'll learn something. I think the channel was something like Vodka Butterfly or something like that.
Best part of Saturday is lunch and a new Bourbon Moth video.
Keep them young with a moral code as long as possible
Forgive me for not reading every comment, but might I throw out a suggestion? Please grab some bourbon-proof spill trays in the shape of your hidden storage to protect the wood and electrical in case of spillage! Wood (ha ha) hate to see all of that hard work ruined by a rogue bourbon bottle or loose cap. Most excellent video as per ushe sir. That Airstream is looking mighty fine!
Up 🎊🎊
Hugs.... Hugs are most important thing every day!
Linseed oil fire, the irony is just killing me! Glad it was caught in a timely way which makes the irony better!
You need some of those laser cut foam tool tray inserts so your whiskey bottles don't rattle around!
Hmm, I may have been sitting here watching.... but we call it 'Supervising the Job'....hahahaha. Keep up the great work and I am thoroughly enjoying your commentary.
Have you seen the video of the woodworker who tested different ways that used rags can spontaneously combust? It's a quality video with lots of good information. You should check it out. :D
Got my shirt today. It’s dope, and soft AF.
I have zero intention of ever foisting out an airstream… but I sure do enjoy watching the process. And of course there’s bits to take away from every project I can use in my own. ❤
I may have set here and watched... BUT, I worked hard at learning. !!! Great Job!
ONE MILLION subscribers! A milestone! Congratulations! 👍
If only there was a guy who made videos about the perils of spontaneous combustion and oily rags!!
Hey Jason, can we get your best Ron Swanson style headshot on a motivational poster with "It's woodworking, you can go rogue if you want to." on it? I'll be watching the merch store!
Much love!
That series is coming out amazing
Thanks for showing the fire stuff. Reminds us all to be careful.
👍👊👍👊looking good, sorry about your fence. At least nobody got hurt, all good in the end.....
It's coming to look great! And I really love that you sacrifice your fence *and* manage to call in the fire department, just to let us remember the dangers of linseed oil. Talking about dedication here.
Look forward to your video's every week. I cant believe even after your linseed oil combustion test video you did, you still managed to set your fence on fire. ( Great Laugh) Glad it wasn't worse and your doing a great job with the Air Stream.
I just watched this video highly intoxicated on Bourbon. Something feels really weird about this but at the same time it feels so right. I'm in the UK and over here everyone just drinks beer. Not me sir. Who knew the air stream series would help me get my head together and stop the room from spinning?
You always do such a fine job; I love watching you stick to your high standards and its exciting to walk through this camper build with you! Keep it up!
26:20 You should do a video where you test the whole spontaneous combustionOH. (lol)
31:30 I sure hope there are plans to add partitions for the bottles, or at least foam inserts.
I like the shou sugi ban style fence 😂
RV owner here with solar inverter - you really should consider adding ventilation in that front panel where that stuff is at. We just bought our RV but it has a bunch of holes there for this very reason and it gets HOT. They don't bother putting them on top because the cushions effectively block it
Love watching your videos, very entertaining. Just wanted to share something that happened to me yesterday...in a momentary lapse of judgment, I lost part of my finger on my table saw. People, please take your time and follow safe woodworking practices. One millisecond, and now I may never play my guitar or ukelele like I used to. I'll be buying the hand sticker and placing it on my table saw to remind me that we are fallible, and need to be extra careful around our power tools.
Looking good Jason!
Don't look at it like you burned your fence down, instead, look at it like prepping for some Shou Sugi Ban. Now you just have to do the rest of your fence and shellac it. Professional. Superb. Intentional.
20:40 the fact that you made a "eh that's pretty decent" face and not a "omg that's what I need to hold it together" face makes me feel pretty good about your mental health lol
Foreman moments are the best parts of your videos. 😊
And good wordworking. 😅
Ok, you and I need to have a discussion!!! I tried to give my foreman a kiss and hug, now I have a meeting with HR on Monday!!!
It’s coming along nicely
Third and Your son at the end is too cute! 😂😊
As others have suggested talk with your electric installer. You may need more ventilation and access to your components.
Your scrapwood pile must be gigantic from all the templates you've had to make/scribe for this project!
I recommend adding a tiny bit of foam padding to the wine cellar compartment... To prevent breakage/rattling while on the road.
I remember watching a video recently about oil soaked rags :)
good job, you covered up all your breakers and will be camping in the dark if one trips 🤣 you need an extra door in the bench to reach those..... get on it!
Jason, please just use a washer when you put your piece of wood against the wall to mark your template!! 👍
lol. car fab tip.. use a small bearing on a regular (not carpenter's) pencil to trace curves. remember it will be off by whatever the diameter of the bearing is. so add that back before cutting.
Omg, that’s awesome. I installed a hidden liquor cabinet in my own camper when I renovated it. Great job.
Nice work Jason!
Up 🎊🎊
You should save those fence boards and make something out of them. That way you can point to it anytime someone says that you don't have to worry about linseed oil rags. Plus I think with that gator char it would look really good with your logo on it 😁
Replace those blue bendie things with some #10-3 romex wire. It will hold the shape and it is free on most job sites.
Did enjoy, thank you. Did Craig like the tables?
Bad luck with the Rubio rags. There’s this guy Jason Hibbs that did a video on workshop rags catching fire. Probably good to check that out so you don’t have this problem again!
Happy your "accident" wasn't as bad as it could have been. Always enjoy your vids.
Jason looks great! However you may want to add access panel to get to cut breaker panel for future troubleshooting. Again looking good. Joe
Hey Jason- you need a short span of chain link fence. Perfect place to tie those finishing rags to dry far away from anything combustible. And yes, even then they can self combust in the hot sun- so best to have the fence surrounded by concrete far away from your trees.
You should line the bourbon storage with foam/felt to keep the bottles safe while driving.
Looking good👍👍
Well I see a video on repairing a fence coming up! Good that it was outside and a great object lesson for all of us.
Since you did a video of how oily rags can spontaneously combust you should do a video on how to keep them from combusting and what to put the rags in or on so they can dry.
Looking Great!!
Great video. Sorry you fence got burned. Ironic that you did a test video on spontaneous combustion!😢
This is an interesting project. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad no one got hurt in this fire❤
I enjoy watching your progress. Iver will be looking you in the eye soon.
maybe you need dividers for all those bottles. or some type of stoppers. maybe something rubber or silicone or a fabric of sorts
My former employer ran a service station and we used a metal rag storage bin with a foot powered hinged lid to store used rags. That can be useful if you're working with self combustible materials.
His linseed rag test last week confirms this. His oil rag safety can had no issues with fire
yay for another Airstream video!!! I love these ones!
You should do a video on shop hazards and another on Shou Sugi Ban
Man I can’t believe your rags caught fire! Let that be a lesson to everyone, be careful
Good looking ride
This video was fire! 🔥
