I love this song. I don't care how wimpy it is; and I don't care what some elitist 70s Chicago fan thinks about the 80s version of Chicago. This song is a pure masterpiece along with "Hold On" afterwards. It's just great songwriting, great harmonies, great lyrics. Just a brilliant song.
David is a great song writer. Like many other tunesmiths, he needs help with words. Words are even more important than the music. Hal David wrote great pop lyrics. Usually one person can not put it all together. That’s ok with me. I want to hear the best music that can possibly be made. If it takes different people at each stage, that is good. Song writer, lyricist, producer, engineer, singer, instrumentalist. The collaborative end result is wonderful.
