Yo Man, you have something going for sure. Stumbled upon and I'm hooked. Your vibes are just what I've needed, been feeling a little down these days and this helped. Waiting for part 3 (patiently).
Thank you very much for the kind words, and glad I can give you a laugh. Or six ha ha. I am but a humble channel but have big dreams to always give the UA-camrs this content. The engine block has been painted and is almost ready to drop in. I'm hoping it'll only be a few weeks. I'll keep updating on the discussion tab for you guys. Also this is not an act. I truly am a goofy guy. Thanks and Cheers!
I bought a 1978 SR5 brand new. The pickup box was built in Long Beach CA out of old 55 gal drums. I lived in Central Ohio. Within 3 years, the rear lights were all wonky because of corroded grounds. The horizontal seam on the bed rusted. The worst was the right A pillar in front of the door and next to the windshield got rust bubbles from the inside. I gave it a whammer bammer partial paint job and sold it.
these videos are really good it feels like what an average person would actually go through while working, gives me the old vibes of long nights with Dad working 👍👍👍
I have a 1976 Toyota p/u, and except for a new interior light, and a couple of headlamps, every bulb in the truck is original, and works. The original clutch works great, The muffler needed a new tailpipe. Didn’t have the heart to tell the tech he welded the pipe to a 42 year old muffler.
Oh that's fantasic! Awesome to hear! I wish I had more time to go further in depth as to what we all did, but this is my brosifs pickup (TransAmHologram (in my featured channel)) and wants to start body work on it right away. He will upload this pickup repair work to his channel when I get it running. On other cars ill try to go a bit more in depth in this channel. Piece by piece, you can do it boss!👍
I use to own a 74 Dastun truck.the guy before me put a flat deck on it. after a while .the motor quit and i sold it.now wish i had it still. great vid on the truck .
Hi Chris! I have a multi decades old rule of thumb, "if it can it will except when that is what I wanted it to do." You have content down in a way that many older channels never seem to get. I predict an eventual monolithic presents here on the Tubes. Carry on!
If mice had eaten up the wiring in my 1973 like this one, I'd never have even started restoring it. I can't imagine dealing with that headache. Luckily for me, mine is just rotted all to hell, and didn't need much mechanically outside of a brake rebuild and crank seals. My dad restored it from totalled from 1990-1994, drove it daily until 2006, and I started restoring it in 2016.
I definelty hear ya. Im almost backwards. My background is I have a degree in auto tech and was ASE certified in electrical at one point in my life. But I cringe at body work. So wiring is nothing special to me. We found a complete factory wiring harness on ebay, so on Trans Am channel he will put the proper one in. That's awesome your restoring it. Keep them alive!😀
@@SwedeMachine I've been able to find almost all new panels, excluding a bed. I've even got floors and rockers coming from Thailand, and I have a wrecked parts truck for anything else I may have needed to fabricate. 1973 is the oddball year too. Only year the gas tank was on the drivers side, so that bed was a nightmare to find. Front end was different in 1973-1974 too, and those parts are a pain to find. There are a lot of subtle differences, but practically everything in interchangeable 1975-1978, and it seems those years are much easier to find.
Oh wow. I didn't know there's a one off year. Yeah I bet those parts for that one off year is righteous pain to aquire. Good luck with your restoration boss!
Bonjour,je vous regarde de France 😁 Que de bonne humeur dans vos vidéos. Les vieux pick-up sont très rare en France. Dommage que nos vieux véhicules ne possèdent pas de V8. Super votre chaîne UA-cam 👍
New subscriber here your video is enjoyable to watch your very enthusiastic should be more like you in the world working on one of my favourite vehicles staying tuned to see more 😁😁
just like mine ! the floor is ate up.! i had the same issues with the gas tank that same screw did the same thing, i replaced the sending unit and moved the fuel pump outside the tank so wont have to drop the tank again, just as you have done yes the webber is a lot better carb then the OEM POS, cluthage had to have welded an inch on both push rods to get full extension into the master and slave cylinder. that took a while to figure out why i didnt have a clutch lol
Can't wait to see progress on this. I just picked up a 74 Hilux, had been sitting for 25 years, but I'm planning an engine swap. Funny, seems this yellow was very popular back then...
Just got it bolted into the frame tonight. Waiting on a custom thick head gasket for the top end now. Congrats on getting that N20! We were suggested by our machine shop to swap to a 22R as parts are more available, but in the end the original 20R was kept. Yeah those 70's colors ha ha!
I have fixed those sending unit just by cleaning the connections on the unit after it did not work and some of the one's I have worked on were much nastier shape then that one I bet you could fix it if you tried
A legit question my friend. I guess we were too eager to have it move on its own first lol. But there will be a whole episode where it will get a power wash bath, and possibly some wax too, and have it real shiny. Dont worry, everybody will be able to see it scrubbed clean! We'll get some first action shots of it. I am really waiting to do that to myself! Cheers
Oh yes don't worry about that! Recording should start this weekend or next week. Clutch came in yesterday, timing set should be in this week. I'll see about pumping Part 3 out as fast as I can for you guys. It will come my friend💯🛠
Fun channel you got goin here. Nice ending with the blooper reel. Waiting for that 20R motor brought back to life again. Are you keeping the original carburetor? Also wondering if you will be blocking off/plugging the smog equipment lines.
Thanks for the feedback on the channel! We are just getting started here but I've gots good vibes as where we are headed. Plenty of these resurrection videos are already being planned out. The 20R was just dropped off last night at my shop and yes I can't wait to hear it breathe fire again. We are upgrading the carburation unit to the weber unit (can't remember the exact flavor but its the popular upgrade). All smog stuffs will be sidelined so she'll breathe easy. Thanks for stopping by!

Oh yes our beloved rust belt of our country lol. Can't blame you a bit for selling it, salt is right nasty for cars

I’m restoring a 1985 Toyota pick up right now! Learning a lot from you and you’re motivating me to work on my truck. Keep it up!

@@SwedeMachine I lost a friend last year to Covid. Your reply reminded me of his favorite motto, "stand tall as if the world is your quarterdeck."

Your too kind. But thank you! Rock and roll dude!🤘😀
Came across your videos looking for a Toyota Hilux that body style! Had a 76 in 2000, loved that truck and wanting another one! Great stuff for sure.
Ah tge Toyota pickup. In the 80s, everyone I knew either had or wanted a 4wd SR5. I wanted the Xtra cab 4WD. I got a Courier instead.

Absolutely about the clutch. Nothing fits like OEM🙃. Pick up definitely has some holes in it but overall it definitely solid restoration project
You are the best bro.. your vibe 💯
Wellllll I wouldn’t go that far haha. But bless ya none the less 😆✌🏼🤘🏼
What a great job, but worth the effort

Put some valve grinding compound on the tip of the philips bit and it’ll help grip.
Woah that's a hot tip right there. Can't believe I never thought of that. Man I love this community thanks!
Respekt! Klaustrofobiya nou
Why not clean the damn thing first before working on it?

Being recorded as we speak. I'm hoping in a few weeks we will have it👍
I have some russian dance music that would be perfect for this video.
ماشاء الله تبارك الله...
How much is the price
I am not at liberty to say how much was paid for it, but it definitely was more than scrap prices. It was a fair deal when we looked it all over
