Join me on my journey as we explore the fun world of getting automobiles back on the road. My main focus will be to awaken old iron that have been sleeping for far too long, as well as repairing iron that needs help. This channel was started and named by my purchasing Edd the Volvo (old family car) from my Uncle and Aunt for restoration and also named for my Swedish side of my family. I HATE Tire Service Companies - 2018 Subaru Forester Lug Studs and Nuts Replacement
Переглядів 1,5 тис.7 місяців тому
Some company did my friend dirty. BAD dirty. They put tires on the Subaru after "servicing" and broke at least 5 lug studs. ALL TIRES had some form of either broken lug studs and or nuts. Also they put on mix-matched lug nuts as well. The mechanic told the customer to send it, and their service writer also told them: "Its fine don't worry about it." Unbelievable! We will right the wrong that th...

My daily is a 96 Lincoln but my proud car is a 1982 volvo 244 DL
Ohhh the DL! Yes. A fine piece of Swedish engineering. Back when they were tanks!❤️
I’m obsessed with this car and the year 77 is my birth year and I vaguely remember these big cars but man oh man, what a beauty!! This video was in my feed because I’ve searched for 77 cars before. Thanks for the video
Eyyy most welcome!!! Glad I could entertain you with a beautiful land yacht !😊
Well done SM, good job. You make it look so easy 😂. Looking forward to the next one. 🤠
It’s all thanks to jump cuts in the video editor 😁🤣. Bless
This wa a top of the line Olds but the styling was so jarring that it was loved or hated. The Aurora was Olds next venture but that was too late in the game . Olds historically build stout vehicles and was GM's test bed division but GM shared way too much with sister divisions and guess how had to go.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐♥️♥️♥️♥️
Top tip for anyone struggling with tires. If the bead is broken on both sides and your still getting stuck it's because the tire is wedged, the trick to fix this is to use your fingertips to pull up around different parts of the bead. Believe it or not if you can find the spot the whole tire will become free. If you force it you will have to fight it. It's designed to come off easily and remember it's not stuck it's wedged.
😁👍👍
Good job SM. Looking forward to more fun and exasperation from you this year 😂. Keep 'em comin' mate.🤠
Aye!
Best ride ever made in USA
You know it!!!
Thank you, your video helped me greatly with my truck collection. 1969 f350, 1970 f250, 1972 f100 4x4 and another 1970 f250 camper special.
Great collection I must say! I’m not the greatest teacher but if it helped that makes me happy 🙂
NO EV will ever be serviced or create jobs.
Yeah!! My boy is back in town! Nice to see more progress bud 🙂👍
Eyyy nice to see you slowly grinding out the body work on your ride as well! Get it? Body, welding, grinding…..oh nevermind🙄😄
Just a bit more labor intensive than a 1/2 ton truck. Do you happen to know why the 3/4 ton and up seem to use the bent nails and springs to hold the shoes to the backing plate instead of the regular straight nail and coil sping/retainer? I had a hell of a time with those on my F250.
I have no idea. It’s what Ford engineers came up with and we must suffer because of it😄
@@SwedeMachine I wasn't a fan lol.
Gimme a break!.....Those are the breaks!......Break Time!!! 🤣 And other bad puns I can't think of right now. Good job, sir!! Thank you for sharing!
That’s my boy🤣
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey ! FINALLY !!!! 1:27 .. THATS WHAT SHE SAID !!!!! :))))))) ahahahahha
Love your style Drei!!🤣
@ you gotta love it!! 😂😂 cool stuff brother! Can’t wait to see this ol beast done and back on the road! 🔥🔥🔥
Big drum brakes are fine to work on, the smaller they are the fiddlier and more annoying they are. Even on modern stuff where the drum part is just a parking brake, its miserable as often the drum inner diameter is barely larger than the diameter of the axle flange. BMW E36 comes to mind... Having a floater axle is handy in that situation too, no flange in the way!
Oh man with my big fat fingers I prefer the bigger stuff! I used to own a E46. I hear ya my man!
yay new video ;)
🤝🙌🇨🇺👍🤝
would be better if you complained a little less
🤪🤣
🙂👍👍
WHY ARE YOU WATCHING THIS I DONT NO A WE ALL MAKE MISSSSSSTAKES A
I would use a step drill for a bigger hole.
I hope noone is so ignorant that they follow this nincompoop.
Amen!
Why does the bottom of the housing look so chewed up? Any ideas?
< Yeah, that's a GREAT 👀Looking CHRYSLER New Yorker ... & the CRAGER WIre Wheels Further Enhanced the Car. 👍 🐺
I heard a Canadian, Swedish and German mechanic working with this American 😂
You outta hear the voices in my head! 🤣
Any sparckle in that is 👎
your genius idea to drain the oil pan is to drill a hole in it.... you have to take the pan off to replace the filter anyways. if it really bothers you, clean it up, get the right location in the pan and put in an aftermarket plug kit.
It didn’t bother me in the slightest. We already had a new pan ready on the shelf. This was the less messy option to drain the old one🙃
Why would you drill a hole in the pan? That does not make any sense. The oil will come out when you loosen all the bolts and the remove the bolts on one end of the pan. Leave the bolts on the other end very loose. When you tilt the pan down you will drain almost all of the oil.
New pan with drain plug was purchased before I drained it. Much cleaner to drill and discard old pan vs doing the whole stupid tilting the pan program😉
Mine has a drain plug
Ohhh flexing over here I see haha!!!
@@SwedeMachine allison 1000...Dmax
"Sending" loved that!!😂
Japanese transmissions have drain holes. Also, where’s the magnet?😅. If I were you I’d weld one in
maybe half of the fluid. the rest is sitting in the TC. the only way to flush is idle it and pull the cooling line while letting the suction line suck in from a fresh jug.
My sugestión, if someone don't know the clearances between the pan and the valve body or any critical components, you can put a drill bit stopper to allow just enough length to go through the pan thickness. I do the same with the ZF transmissions because after you drain the oil you will have still about 2 quarts bouncing inside while you are trying to maneuver between the body parts especially on 4×4 vehicles
Excellent idea! That would work nicely!
You could just take it to a metal fabrication shop have a drain plug welded into it
Yes that is possible depending on the fan shops hourly rate of course.
They’ve got new chromed pans for $40 that a drain plug.
Hey man, what happened? The last I saw was October of 24 things was looking really nice new brakes, new rotors, you had the uh. Engine Bay firewall done, and then it started going back to where and you were pulling the motor out man. I really dig that truck. Take care, brother. Let me know where I can get the rest of them. Videos of it completed thanks.
Things are chugging along. I just had to shut the camera off and just do some grinding and get some stuff done. But we’re still on the warpath in getting back on the road don’t you worry about that! Bless.
Happy belated new year! Looking forward to another good year of tomfoolery 😁
Eyyy my man! Happy New Year to you too! Can’t wait to see how long it takes for me to mess it up😄🤪
Yes, that truck is absolutely worth going through and saving. That is a d*** nice old truck
100% hoss!
Cool
Man, I love them Old trucks and that looks like a nice one. Can't wait for the next posting. I'll be chomping at the bit. Take care and have a good day.
Bless😊
I've never understood why transmission pans don't have drain plugs. One of the big mysteries of mankind. 😅 Good job!
Mystery indeed! Happy New Years David! 🤘🏼😄
I feel like the older pans did, seems like it anyway, I could be wrong. Forget it on modern stuff for the most part. When the vehicles are $80,000 the manufacturers really need to save that $0.03 cents per vehicle.
They do it so people don’t f with it themselves, they want us to just take it to the dealer 🤷🏽♂️ you’d be surprise the amount of people who see a tik tok or yt vid and end up messing up there car by doing something they shouldn’t have or doing said thing wrong.
It means they don't want your car to last too long.
On my 19 superduty it doesn’t have a drain plug. Had to leave 2 front bolts in and take the rest out let it drain in a big pan. From there it was easy. 17’s and earlier came with the drain plug. I think they want you to take it to a dealer so they make it as hard as possible. Changed mine at 35k and it was starting to get brown, change it regularly or don’t mess with it later. My neighbor changed his for the first time at 150k and month later it broke down.
I guess if you wanted to be really cheap you could solder the hole closed?
If you’re good enough absolutely. I don’t recommend that but in theory yes 😄
@@SwedeMachine You could also install one of those add on threaded drain plug bungs to the hole as well.
Jb weld
Fun stuff there. That big pump body seal was just starting to leak on mine when I did the engine and trans last summer. If it doesn't have that white dipstick tube hole assembly plug in the pan it's been changed before.
Ah yes!!! The mysterious assembly plug! I remember those. Been a while since I’ve seen one. Fun stuff indeed 😁
WTF is a red flake.... this is what happens to you after years of hard drug abuse.....
Very good
Pretty sure this is the problem I am having on my 1987 F-250. $25.00 for an ignition switch is cheaper than the $40.00 a monthly subscription fee that " Ask a Mechanic " wants to charge. You know the ones where they want your debit card #, so they accidently on purpose keep charging even when you cancel. No thank you, this is what You Tube is for.....
Yeah those guys grind my gears. Glad to shed some light on where your problem might lie. 💪🏼✌🏼
