Apparently the budget for this thing costed $250 million, you could've gave all those money to A24 and let them make 150 to 200 awesome indie films. Instead we got another generic The Rock movie that won't be remembered less than a month. Huh, thanks Hollywood 👍
Yeah the movie just fell flat. There’s some fun to be had, it’s a tiny bit funny, and it’s directed very well, but the story and script don’t evolve, and it all just feels dull
I think the best thing about the movie is the lore surrounding this. It’s a fairly original Christmas concept involving an agency keeping a lookout of the mythological world. I’d be game for that if they did something involving Halloween. It just can’t be a Christmas thing there’s the Headless Horseman in here for crying out loud. But really the lore worked for me….everything else is just enjoyable as it is.
Seems like the type of movie to play in the background while the family are opening presents. I do think Hollywood needs to dial back the high budget for movies in general.
When Hollywood would stop funding these dawyne jhonson project and burn their hands his golden run ended after jumanji 2, he is still playing the rock in every movie
Thanks for your review, Austin❤💚 I haven't watched the movie cause I really didn't like the trailer. I like the Rock, but I would like for him to do more movies like Snitch and Gridiron Gang. Both are my favorite Dwayne Johnson films.
I remember when this was first announced, I thought it sounded great. After seeing that first trailer, I was so disappointed that this was the tone they went with.
It’s a genuinely mental movie. Watched it on opening day in UK for some reason, actually just sat there and enjoyed it. Didn’t expect anything amazing, expected a ridiculous Christmas film with the rock and that was what it was tbf
Although the film will eventually flop (saw it last Sunday as part of the 1-day IMAX early access event), I like the idea of having a Christmas-themed action film made for IMAX theater & it would've been better if it had open aspect ratio
I saw it last Wednesday. In IMAX. Like The Rock intended. It wasn’t great but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have fun, I just think there was a bit much going on. It was at its best when it was going crazy with the Christmas lore. And yes, Chris Evans was very fun, a perfect fit for this role.
I enjoyed it. Wasn’t particularly good and not entirely sure where the ridiculous budget went to given how poor some of the CGI was but I enjoyed it. If it was on Netflix or something next Christmas I would probably watch again
I feel, people have to stop blaming and using the, "It's just for kids!" excuse for bad movies. Little kids are not that stupid. Some may be naive but not dumb. I was told by a UA-cam reviewer that their little kids even said movies like these were more for adults than kids themselves. So, I don't know who to believe anymore with these films or film critics. Lol.
I saw it on Saturday and it was a lot better than I expected. I just wanted to see the rock get slapped by Krampus Lol. Yes its in the trailer but its slightly different in the movie lol The villain wasn't as much of a villain and I thought and the movie was way too long! I also wanted to see more of Garcia and it was cool seeing Santa do his thing. I agree the parts of the movie that was more kid friendly was a lot better but I did appreciate the adult humor. lol I have to say it again, the movie was way too long! I think it should have been around 90mins and a slightly better villain.
This looks like a Netflix movie. Surprised this is actually theatrical
I saw it last Sunday. It’s…ok. In my opinion, not as bad as some of the reviews would have you believe.
Agreed
I actually enjoyed it. Had fun
I agree. My feeling is that it was panned so much because it doesn't have a woke agenda. It wasn't as bad as people are saying.

Great videos. Love your narrative.
I wish you would do more of the creative tierlist ranking videos like you used to do before☹️
You know that one Rock meme...."It's the biggest piece of.....

It's nice to see J K. Simmons take up the mantle of Santa Clause again
When was the first?

This is currently in the running for my least favorite movie of the entire year...What a waste of $250 million. Great review, AB!
Joker 2
Joker 2 was worse
movie was actually good, saw it today
Great review Austin loved hearing your thoughts and yeah there was a few disappointing moments but it was still funny

Worth the ticket price. Kicked back and enjoyed the fun.
It's got a 90% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes yet UA-camrs want to pretend everyone hates it.
Lol at Game Over.
Yeah that got me 😂

Loved it

It’s over with the rock.
You don't smell what the rock is cooking? A crock pot full of SHIT! NUFF SAID.
Actually the more serious roles with the Rock are better

It’s gonna be game over when I watch this on my 55 inch tv lol.
Free guy was good!
Nah. Tomorrow we're going to see Christmas Pageant movie.
That was of better quality
Austin will also target kids when nobody is looking, hahaha
....so you don't have to." Just finished the title for this video for you, Austin. You're welcome! 😂

Game over is right Dwayne.
Started watching and noticed this movie 124 minutes long. 🤦♂ A movie like this should be no more than 104 minutes.
Red flags all around that trailer
That's just your opinion. Plenty people enjoyed the movie. Everyone have different taste.
Movie was trash 🗑️

I agree, it's like a buddy cop type movie. Switch Evans with Kevin Hart and you have Central Intelligence.
it managed to make a sequence of santa delivering presents cool af, but holy shit this movie is edited so terribly
Like a gym bro version of Arthur Christmas with half a brain
Red One should be Re-Done
Hard pass on this one, I just can't stand more of Dwayne Johnson undistinguishable movies. Good review, thouhg, thanks man.
Great film, we all enjoyed it.
I really don’t care bro. I had fun with this film no matter what anyone says
So was this the movie jk Simmons got jacked for this was the moment lol.
I know im gonna like it cause it’s a holiday movie and it’s the rock baby
I'm looking forward to seeing this It looks really dumb and stupid but it'll be a fun big dumb generic Christmas action movie
I liked it saw it 🤶 🤶 day same with Dear 🎅 🎅
One of the most idiotic rock quotes, only slightly behind the queen black Adam tweet
I liked it as a guilty pleasure but I know it’s still a bad movie
If your hating on this then I would like to see you do better then??
