5:50 Am my time. Having my coffee and your video popped up. I am so happy to see this video. My Dad died 8 years ago from cancer. I still have a hard time talking about him with bursting into tears. I took care of him for the last 6 months. It nearly killed me. But I would do it all over again for him. My life pretty much fell apart after that. It was like a series series of unfortunate events. (That I created) my point is its traumatic to looses a parent especially when you are close. (Most people are not) you are a true Inspiration on many levels. Your apartment is cozy and adorable! Thanks for letting us into your life. It's a very cool life full of ups and downs, determination creativity and inspiration. Thank you for sharing it .As my dad would you have have to keep punching this a cruel world with cruel people, you can never give up no matter how hard life gets. You are an example of that. Thank you

Thank you for sharing your story.... you have given me inspiration and hope. My daughter passed away 9 years ago and I have struggled since to want to get back into life. I have been doing the bare minimum to survive. I definitely need more out of life. I have always enjoyed being creative and helping others but since my daughter died so did my desire for everything. Your story really touched my heart and spirit, thank you ❤️

I can totally relate to you. I have lost 2 Teenagekids 6 and 5 years ago. We get into a survival routine but the Desires or Passions of the past are gone. I knew I had to get away from my old home and I have even changed the country. Now in the new country I still do not know what to do. But I have collected furniture from the roadside and painted it. Bec I came here and almost had no furniture. Debbie is very inspiring. New furniture in Australia is expensive so it never was an option. I used to love baking and cooking, crafting and so on. Many talents but little desires to get started. No passion to stick with anything to maximize the skills. It is so sad when a loved one dies and when it is your own child it can knock you out of your shoes for very very long. We can only take one day at a time. Blessings

Aussie Girl 😢, it is very difficult to find a desire or get enthusiastic about anything. I know your pain, nothing can compare. Thank you for sharing your heartache with me. I pray you find comfort and I pray we both find something to help us feel like living life, like you, I struggle everyday to find the energy to think about what would interest me. The one thing I have found that helps me the most is to help someone else even if it is a smile at a stranger or send a note to let someone know they are being thought of. Many sincere thoughts and feelings of love and comfort sent to you ❤️

Hi. I live in Florida. I am old. While I don't buy that much for myself anymore, I buy gifts for daughter, son-in-law, two grandsons, two granddaughters-in-law and eight great grandchildren. I often tell my friends and neighbors about little treasure troves I have found. I tell my family and friends where I buy certain things. I am known for original
unusual treasures, many of which are hand crafted. I am a great source of advertising for shops and stores. I frequently take out-of-town guests to these shops to obtain mementos and gifts. Is there a message here? Damn straight! Don't EVER discount a potential buyer that comes into your shop. I'm old, not dead.

Try giving away items to the local churches for their ladies night events. That will help get the word out. Advertise in unlikely places also like the feed & tack stores nearby.

It's so funny that you uploaded this video now, dear Debbie. I'm 46, mother of three and a mixed media artist. I quit my job three years ago and started a blog and a UA-cam channel. Haven't been able to make an income out of my art, up to now. Mostly because I'm very shy and I don't dare to take the risk of opening a store or studio. And right now, I'm in the most difficult period of my life, because hub is very stressed at work and pressures me to produce some kind of income. And of course I have no support from my parents. Your story really touched me and I hope I can find the strength to move on like you did. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It really means a lot!

There’s been points in my life where I have stopped all creativity and those where my most unhappy times in my life. This video gives me hope. Hope for me and my family. I am not a small business person at this time so I sadly opted out of the membership group this frees up more money for me to buy your paint because it is awesome and I can’t even think of using any other paint. Especially after just completing a iron bed bench project where I painted each of the 11 slats a different color. On a couple boards I used some homemade so called chalk paint and one other company’s paint. They didn’t workout for distressing and and covering like the DIY paint. The thing I like about your company is your retailers- creative, inspiring and entertaining! Wishes for continued success in your business and life! God bless!

Thank you so much for sharing your story!!! I'm choking back tears like a hardass, but you are the biggest inspiration in my life right now. I found Dionne online and she talked about your paints...I can relate with everything you say from feeling like "a little mini factory" to this video you talk about being homeless and spending time with your mother. Life is short and hard but we find the beauty. I love what you do. I suck at computers too, and while I've been inspired and tried to start my own youtube videos..I freaking just downloaded a virus on my expensive computer with nothing backed up cuz I'm a computer dummy. The struggle is real, but it is also beautiful! I'm glad you went for it and made it work! I love all of your projects! You just figure it out and you do it! Your paint is amazing by the way, one of a kind majestic unicorn paint. I freaking love it. Speaking of which, I got on here today to ask you about purple.. I tried searching for debi diy purple....grape to plum I cannot seem to find it or a video on how to mix your paints to achieve it. WE NEED SOME PURPLE IN OUR LIVES!! Lol you did mention something about purple frozen paint in this video..so I'm going to have to look into that! P.s. I also want to poke fun at your quirkiness!- Your camera angles and the fact that you are always juggling everything in your arms, your puppy...you are hilarious!!! So adorable!! 💗

You know Debbie, I'm a new follower but this story touched me to the very core. I've been struggling for a long time, not because I don't work as matter of fact I work 2 jobs and there are days that seems I'm never going to get through it all, my 2 jobs, my husband who suffers from chronic depression, anxiety and pts. But then someone like you gets put in my path like a bright shining light and I can't help but tell myself in going to be alright and I am going to make it through. Thank you so much for being so honest and open. God bless you 💖💖💖

Thank you so much for sharing your story. You have given me hope. I am a struggling artist trying to work fulltime and run an etsy store. I have been suffering from grief of the loss of my father who died from liver cancer two years ago. My mom has Alzheimer's and I took over my dad's duties of taking care of her by being her advocate. My mother and father both were amazing artists. They had an antique shop but had to close due to her diagnosis. She was only 62 when diagnosed. Anyway, I can relate to you with your grief and passion for art. I teared up as you shared your story. You have empowered me. Thank you for your channel and thank you for being so real. 💗🐞

Debi, your story is beautiful. A door closed, but a glorious window was opened. Can you imagine what you would have missed if you hadn't embraced the opportunities and people that were at play in your life? What if you hadn't opened yourself up and chose simply to "play it safe"? We'd all missed out on something truly special! Thanks so much for sharing your story and having the courage to take the less worn path. You certainly deserve your many blessings and the beautiful view from your window. Keep it open! Love and light♥️🌄✌️👍

Thank you for sharing your story Debi. I feel like I've been living under a rock the past 3 years coming out only to go to work.Thank goodness for my dog who forces me to get out and take a walk several times a day. I'm not the same happy, confident person I used to be but am hoping I can snap out of it and start living life to the fullest again. I've always been a creative person but hadn't touched my crafts in a few years now. Just recently I stumbled upon your site and Jami Ray's which peaked my interest in revamping old furniture - something I loved to do back in my 20's. I now spend the weekends at Goodwill and various thrift stores around me seeking out vintage furniture and other do-dads to paint. Thank you for being an inspiration to many but most of all, thank you for being you.

Hello Debi Design. Your story is very inspiring. It is so crazy that sometimes in life we hit rock bottom before we get to the top of the mountain. With all the mounds of horrible things going on in the world, it is a beautiful thing for us creators to find a lovely, free-spirited, determined person that inspires others to not give up because life must go on due to ups and downs, like you! I have watched your videos for a few years now and you always make me laugh. Tyfs.

Debi, thank you so much for sharing your story and your space! You are such an inspiration, your creativity and talent knows no boundaries! I have been following you for years now and was so thrilled when I visited your amazing store. I mentioned to your employee that I followed you on UA-cam and how much I love your channel. She disappeared for a moment and to my surprise you were there and came out to meet my mom and I! You were so gracious and kind and it made our day! I am so truly sorry for your moms passing...as hard as it was I am glad you got to have that time with her. I have loved following you on your journey and I am now on one of my own as I finally got up the courage to start my own channel. As a past boutique owner myself I know how much a struggle it is owning a brick-and-mortar shop and the fact that you have had yours for over 20 years now is so impressive. I am a furniture painter and I absolutely love your DIY paints! I have watched as you have transformed your home and it turned out so beautiful, I love it! Thank you so much for sharing you are so inspiring and a joy to watch!❤️👑🐝
