So I personally got the z3 steering rack from a non-m car from year 1996-2002 you can find them on Amazon, I got the steering column from condor speed shop, it is the airbag version and it deletes the bulky stock steering column, about a year ago I have a video that covers both of these mods when I installed them🙂 hope this helps!
Yes it's a vinyl and fabric spray paint, they sell it at O'Reilly's, I believe I used 2 full cans, but it didn't leave a smell or leave the fabric crunchy
