Great stuff War on Drugs & Kurt Vile are somewhat understated

Great band, great song, four great albums behind them now. Just a gorgeous synthesis of 80s Springsteen heartland rock, extended psychedelic jams and hypnotic Motorik rhythms. Blissfully cinematic stuff, their appearance at Glasto as the sun set last year just soared, at least on the telly lol.

It's Mark Knopfler and the Heartbreakers?

One of my favorites by TWOD. Their songs sound like "nightime" moody but with a nice flow

I've only recently discovered TWOD and really like what I've heard so far. I'm a lyrics guy but don't really care that I can't hear them clearly because I love their sound. It is comforting, melodic and the subtle guitar work really well. 'I don't live here anymore' from the same KEXP session is fantastic, you get great backing vocals and a cheeky little Dylan impression thrown in! Great job guys and many thanks.

So glad you are enjoying your dive into the world of The War on Drugs, and I couldn't agree more with your assessment of "I Don't Live here Anymore" from the same performance. We appreciate you giving this video a go and taking the time to share your thoughts. Be well, Cyclops! - Andy

Tom Petty - check. Bob Dylan - check. Electric + acoustic? - Traveling Wilburys. And when Andy mentioned it, I could hear rather a lot of Mike Scott as well. I think I also spotted some Stuart Adamson guitar. Highly enjoyable.
If you're blowing down the old dusty road, does that mean you ain't a-gonna be treated this-a-way?

    Dear Chaps and Chappettes,
Is there a band called "English Teachers in Tank Tops"?
If not, I would like to claim it.
    Keep up the good work.

'An Ocean In Between The Waves' from this album is an absolute stone cold classic.

This is a great band. It took me a little while to warm up to them when they first gained some buzz, but I ended up falling in love with them on their album A Deeper Understanding. Phenomenal album, highly recommended. This performance was great, but I really think of them as a studio band. Their production is just incredible.
Also, I'd be remiss not to mention how much I love Kurt Vile. One of my favorites.

The vocals were pure Dylan circa 1984 (Real Live) which is a big plus. Nice song, good playing, Although I'd not heard it before it had immediate nostalgic appeal.

Good stripped-down version, but I do miss the sax. There's a live version of this on youtube somewhere with the full band and the sax very prominent -- veers almost into Roxy Music territory.

It's pleasant. Dad rock. I find their songs kinda sound all the same. I wasn't a big fan of Petty or Dire Straits.
Try "Crutch" by Band of Horses, it's strange as it sounds kind of like Americana meets The Cure. Just saw them live, even though Ben, the singer was out of tune due to a wicked cold, the audience cheered him on.
