- In this video, I talk about how to grow ginger in zone 7 and colder climates. Since ginger is a tropical plant, it is challenging to grow it successfully in colder climates. I will show you how to start your ginger and how to take care of it until harveat time.
At $5.00/lb. I'm growing it!
That is a good reason to grow it. I don't like paying a ton for the things that I can grow.
Thanks for the great demonstration. My last attempt at growing ginger failed, but I’m going to try again!
Good luck on your next try at growing ginger. Hope you will be successful this year. Cheers to a great harvest!
I'm in zone 7a and I'm doing it inside the house. And I did I got it all from the grocery store and they've got stocks right now that are probably about 6 to 7 in tall and lots of roots They're just in water That's how I was taught to grow it when I was growing up in Hawaii instead of putting it out in the ground right away you you would put it in water and grow it that way first
Is there a follow-up video?
Thank you for the ideas
I am growing for the first time any tips will be welcome my friend
Im in ohio , mine us about 4 inches high, I gotta put it in bigger pot
Best video on ginger so far. Very detailed. Should be at the top.
Thank you!
Just an FYI it depends on the water where you're pulling your water from We have an artesian so ours has lots of minerals and stuff in it I think that is why mine has I mean it's quite tall leaves on it already and it's only been 8 weeks and I've got one two three probably four to five tall leaves and they had no bigger eyes on them than what you're showing. 😊 Just think that maybe water that has too much stuff in it from filtered or city water might make a difference That's just my opinion I may be way wrong
It's nice to do an experiment on the growing media. I'm starting new ones this year and trying to speed it up. Happy gardening!
In my home in Mobile, Alabama ginger grew wild. I loved the exquisite fragrance. TY for your video💖
