For those asking about rather your phone supports this app or if its has limited functions, its listed on the website but to eliminate redundant questions about wired connections, its mandatory that your phone/tablet has OTG support in which some Android systems need to manually turn on OTG settings.
@@M1R0_Life_through_a_lens , i use the a6300 and can not get it to work wireless because the option for "control with smartphone" is not listed in the menu. I guess the a6100 and a6600 added that feature or at least shortcut.

Hello. Camera should be on PC remote for usb and it should work. Make sure you have the latest app update because there was a problem with an older version. You can connect the a7iv via wifi. Make sure you're using a 5GHz wifi for better transmission. The face tracking does no work. It's a Sony thing so even if you have the full app it will not work. Cheers!

I use the cable from my smartphone charger and it works. Maybe try a different USB-C to USB-C cable just to make sure. The tracking does not work, at least on my a7iii. Also the stabilisation doesn't work. Not sure why Sony turns it off. Cheers!
Hello. Yes but only if you have the record to phone option enabled. Be aware that you will playback the low resolution videos. Not the full video. I would suggest that you unplug the cable and view the playback on the camera. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!

Hello. I have just a normal USB-C to USB-C cable. Make sure that you have PC remote set in your camera USB settings. On the tab you should have file transfer selected under USB settings. The tab needs to be OTG compatible. You can check this via Google 😉. It sometimes works of the camera is is set to photo and not video for first registration. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hello. I haven't trier the WiFi connection sine I only have an Android device. I thik if you connect with 5GHz the connection is good but the range is more in the 5m vicinity. From looking at he app interface I think multiple cameras could work. Not sure how smooth the switching would be. Again I haven't tried this out. Sorry but thanks for the comment. Cheers!

Hello. Interesting 🤔. Do you move just the camera or both camera and phone? I'm not sure how far the 5ghz wifi works before losing a good connection. The wired connection will only work on an Android device.
Hello. If you are using a wireless connection you should set it to 5GHz for better transmission, but if you are far away from the camera, then use 2.4GHz. A wired conection is better but it also slows down (frame skipping) when you start recording. I don't see it as a problem but... Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
Hi! For whatever reason, I cannot make the app find my Sony A7III. I'm using a USB-C (in camera) to lightning on my iPhone. I've followed the guide on their website to disable USB Power Supply and set the USB connection settings to "PC Remote". Yet it still won't find the camera in the app. Can you show or explain the exact settings in the camera to make the app see the camera? Thank you!
Hello. Yes in a way. You can record a proxy on the phone and use that for review. It doesn't work like a traditional monitor which is receiving the image through the HDMI. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
I have the Sony A7ll. on the bottom left in yellow I get Tap to connect and it names my phone in the center of the screen I get name of my camera and NOT SUPPORTED I tried QR code and every way possible. Nothing!!

Hello, when recording video or taking photos does it save to the camera memory card? as I took 3 images which show up as not supported to open on the app (May be because they were raw files) But none of these 3 images shown on my memory card. I haven't purchased the app yet but this will be a deal breaker as I want footage on my memory card and not my phone. Thanks :)

The phone needs to support OTG for a USB connection. Also try to set the camera to photo mode for first connection and then switch to video. This sometimes helps if the app doesn't recognize the smartphone. USB settings on camera should be set to PC remote as well.

Hello. Make sure that you have PC+SD save setting set on your camera. That is under USB settings. You can choose the save destination in the app under the camera section of the options page but it depends on the camera model. I can not use this option with my a7iii connected.

@@brnikola One problem can be that your smartphone does not support OTG or that you have to manually enable it in your smartphone. Otherwise there shouldn't be any problem. The camera info should appear in the app and then you just press enter to go to live view. I hope it works out.

Hello. The OTG setting should be under USB settings or developers settings which must be unlocked first. There is probably a video on UA-cam explaining how to do that on A22, but I'm sure it's on by default on this phone. Make sure the USB setting on the phone is also PC remote or file transfer or tethering or something in that matter. Also try turning Bluetooth off on both devices. This helps in some cases. End finally some people have the first time connection problem if the camera is not in photo mode so try to connect in photo mode the first time. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hello. This doesn't work with A7iii. You can only change the position of the focus point but not trigger the focusing. Cheers!

Yeah... The Imaging Edge app from Sony is very buggy. Better to use a IR remote trigger. I have the JJC remote and it's awesome.

There is a slog2 and slog3 LUT already within the app. You can get these LUTs also from the Sony website.

Do you know what the range is before the connection becomes unreliable? Can you connect multiple cameras at the same time and switch between them?

Hello. Try it first as a WiFi connestion (QR code) to register your camera on the phone and then connect with the cable. It worked for the a7iii. Cheers!

Hello. Make sure that you have PC+SD save setting set on your camera. That is under USB settings. You can choose the save destination in the app under the camera section of the options page but it depends on the camera model. I can not use this option with my a7iii connected.

Hello. Did you set the USB option to PC remote on the camera and phone?

@@brnikola One problem can be that your smartphone does not support OTG or that you have to manually enable it in your smartphone. Otherwise there shouldn't be any problem. The camera info should appear in the app and then you just press enter to go to live view. I hope it works out.
@@M1R0_Life_through_a_lens I find solution. Camera must be on photo mode first,than the phone recognize camera. After that,just simply put camera in movie mode. Thank you anyway.

I tried the app on iPhone (no wired possible) and the connection is quite laggy and it disconnect quiet often... :-/

I try to connect my Samsung A22 5g to my Sony FX3 camera with the USB-C cable, but I get this message:
"Unable to connect to your device, either PC remote is not turned on or the device is not supported"
But "PC remote" is turned ON and the samsung is OTG compatible.
So I don't understand why it is not working.
I am new on android device, So how can I be sure that the OTG function is enabled ??

Hello. The OTG setting should be under USB settings or developers settings which must be unlocked first. There is probably a video on UA-cam explaining how to do that on A22, but I'm sure it's on by default on this phone. Make sure the USB setting on the phone is also PC remote or file transfer or tethering or something in that matter. Also try turning Bluetooth off on both devices. This helps in some cases. End finally some people have the first time connection problem if the camera is not in photo mode so try to connect in photo mode the first time. Hope this helps. Cheers!

unfortunately, I still not able to connect my samsung to my fx3 via usb cable.
i have the "PC" icon on my camera screen, and when I connect my phone with the usb cable, the monitor+ app automatically Start and try to connect to my camera, but there is always this message: "Unable to connect to your device, either PC remote is not turned on or the device is not supported"... makes me crazy... :-/
well... so far it does not work with the 6400 even when it says on their website… i android or ios. BUmmer!
The a6400 should work only with the wired connection. If you have an iOS device, then you need the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!

Hello. I think he is using a newer Sony camera because he has more features unlocked in the app. I also can not see the eye tracking because my a7iii does not supported this for video. It depends on the camera. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
