I followed your advice of not exercising, not fasting, not restricting calories, not stressing myself out for the week before day 1. And my period was way less heavy and wayyy less painful and no clots at all which is super unusual. I always have heavy flow, clots and pain.. its only today that I've seen this video and am connecting the dots!! I'm blown away! Thanks so much for your invaluable work and also for spreading this info to all corners of the world!!
I just tried this too this past month and had a MUCH milder experience as well! I was shocked and super grateful because I was on vacation and had been dreading it.
I started crying watching this and then you spoke about progesterone making us a bit weepy and wanting that for us and it made me smile. It made me remember that its ok to take a break and slow down and be introverted at this time.
i started my period when i turned 13, currently 34 ALL THOSE YEARS i had heavy bleeding, sometimes cloths, it lasted 7 days... i found Dr. Berg, applied fasting, my periods reduced a day, and no cloths... THEN I FOUND YOU DR MINDY, i tried no exercise or fasting a week before the bleed, and my period shortened to just 3 days. THANK YOU
I have a similar issue! I was wondering - I don’t tend to feel bad until my period actually starts though so I’m wondering if I should extend the nurturing phase through the beginning of my period - have you heard any info about this?
@@tlc2741 oh, i didn't felt bad at all either, i just bleed painfully forever, 7-9 days depending. I followed Mindy's guide, and my period shortened, but i got NASTY with my husband... even told him i did not loved him... i was getting out of control really. apparently, my body was telling me i needed to build even more progesterone... so i extended my nurture phase from 7 to 10 days. FUCKING FIXED EVERYTHING
A video like that would be great. I'm dealing with fibroids. Two years ago, I had anemia, and I recently was diagnosed with diabetes. I really don't know where to start. Thank you!
Just finished my first month of the program. Followed the book pretty closely. I have monster fibroids and periods so heavy I have had to have iron infusions. I just had the lightest and shortest period that I’ve had in a decade. It also started on day 28 which has happened twice in the last 4 years. This works!!!
I cut out dairy and like magic my periods are lighter and way less painful. I can't wait to learn more from your book. Thank you for teaching this vital info x
Thanks for watching and for reading Fast Like A Girl! 📚It would mean the world to me if you would take a moment to help spread the word and to leave a review of the book from wherever you purchased it! 🙏😍
For the past 12 weeks (3cycles) I have been following your teachings and fasting protocol - you have changed my life. I listen to your you-tube videos every morning while doing my 1/2 hr wobble board. I fast like a girl with as much precision as I can. I bought an infrared sauna blanket that I use atleast 5 days per week after work. My periods have gone from being 8 days of continual heavy bleeding and clotting to 4 days in duration - one day heavy and the rest completely manageable. I’m a 50 year old school teacher and in 14 weeks Ive lost 16 kilos. For the first time in over a decade I feel hope and positivity towards the future - knowing that if I continue in this fasting lifestyle I will achieve my health goals and actually enjoy living my life. I am so grateful to you Dr Mindy - You have helped me completely change my life xxx
Please, please, please do a video focusing on uterine fibroids. Thank you so much for all you’ve done to gather and share all this vital information! I’m 48 and I have your book, Fast Like a Girl. I’m incorporating fasting into my lifestyle and am hopeful for better metabolic health and relief from my fibroids.
Fibroids are non-cancerous growths in the uterus and their treatment depends on various factors, including the size and symptoms. While lifestyle changes alone may not shrink fibroids, they can help manage symptoms. Maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly, and consuming a nutrient-rich diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables may be beneficial. Additionally, some women find relief from symptoms through hormone therapy or non-surgical procedures like uterine artery embolization. It's best to consult with a healthcare professional who can evaluate your specific condition and provide appropriate guidance and treatment options. 🙂 💙 Dr. Mindy's Team
I can’t wait to read your book and share it with my sister & mom! I got all the women in my family into fasting but am learning that going hard on fasting all the time isn’t the way. 😊
Dr. Mindy you LITERALLY hanged my life. After years of having to stop my life on the days of my period and the week before, after fast like a girl all of that is I the past. Understanding my hormones and how to use fasting as a tool to help my body shine has truly changed my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I found you about 45 days ago, at the start of the cycle before last. You taught me so, so much! I can say I already saw a result during my last period. I usually lose 100mL of blood per day during the first 48 hours, but this time it was significantly less, certainly not more than 70 mL, which is a huge difference for me. Also, I used to lose massive clots, like the size of my thumb length- and width-wise or bigger, but last period, after fasting like a girl, I lost far fewer, only two or three instead of countless. I'm going to have my next period soon. I also rested and ate more carbs around my ovulation too. I'm really hopeful, and I hope my period gets better this month too. Thank Dr. Pelz!
I JUST experienced this. I didn't consider why I was feeling the way I was, because my periods are so unregular, this 49th year of my life. I pushed through my spin class, and it was SUPER hard. Then my period started, and it was super heavy, back pain, etc....I felt awful. Thank you for explaining the progesterone factor! It makes so much sense. It is so hard to know when we should push through with our keto/exercise/fasting lifestyle, or just slow down & take it easy.
I wish I had seen this video 3.5 years ago! My OB has done exploratory surgery to look for endometriosis (inconclusive), performed endometrial ablation (which failed) and offered me a hysterectomy for my heavy bleeding. I’ve had insanely heavy periods since my 3rd child was born. Thankfully my holistic dr prescribed progesterone cream last year and it’s made the biggest difference in my cycle. UNTIL THIS VIDEO no one had told me heavy periods = low progesterone. It makes so much sense!
Wow, same here after my third child too. I think a lot of doctors just don't know enough about this. I had several pelvic ultrasounds and exams to figure out why but nothing. My doctor told me I'm too young for perimenopause (I was 41 at the time and insisted to her that I was not) so she wouldn't test my hormones, instead she offered me birth control pills (which I never want to do again), uterine ablation or a hysterectomy...I left thinking surely these can't be my only options. I just went through one cycle fasting and taking it easy when Dr. Mindy suggests and I had the mildest period I've had in months. I'm hoping this will be a tool for me moving forward, but if not I'll try to get some progesterone cream like you mentioned and see if that helps. Thanks so much for sharing!
I am one of the few that went into menopause with hardly any issues. The periods were never heavy and they just got lighter, longer time in between and then they just stopped. I may get really warm every now and then but not like the hot flashes my SIL gets. I really only experience being warm at night so I do have a fan on me for comfort. I'm an older mom so, while I don't struggle with any cycle issues anymore, I do have a 11.5 yo daughter that has had her cycle since she was 10 and we're navigating her through that. I know her body is trying to find its groove so these tips you provide will help me help her as she gets older. Not telling her to fast but the suggestions of when to up carbs or sugars during the month may help her balance out. I know she has struggled with heavy periods lately so we'll monitor her stress levels before she's due. Many thanks on so many topics you provide!

I used to take iron drips and iron shots ....your video is so passionate and I understood better now..thanks so much..I will continue to fast correctly
I absolutely love learning about all of this and am so grateful for these tools you are teaching us these 100% need to be taught in classrooms! I have ben following your 30 day reset for about 7 months and my cycle went from 25 days to 30! Loving the extra days without a period 🥰 more time for life this video just shed light on what my body needs me NOT to do the week prior to my period definitely will apply this immediately! Thank you Dr Mindy have a beautiful day everyone ❤
Love this. Please do other videos on symptoms, hormones from a relationship standpoint. Really helpful video. Thank you. Can't wait for your book to arrive. Much love.
Dr. Mindy! You are amazing! You are literally an answer to my prayers for help with my struggles. I have tried to do keto for years and i always fall short around my cycle. I felt like a failure and really had a lot of self hate because l just wasn't good enough! But then i found you and SO many things you have said, i have felt the Lord confirming to me that is the answer to my pleadings! Thank you for ALL you are doing to help women! I just have one request. Can you please create a man centered video for our husbands and brothers and fathers? lol. I try to explain things to my husband and because it is coming from me it sounds like an excuse. If you could make a video explaining to the men so they can have a little bit more understanding, compassion, respect and i will say appreciation for what our bodies are doing; that would be fantastic!! 👏🙌🤗🫶🏻

@@DrMindyPelz I think she meant a video that explains what women are going through during these times, for the men in our lives to better understand us and not think we're just making excuses.
I am turning 35 this year and I had 24 days cycle from day one, my cycle was normal I bleed for 3 days, bleeding was normal and last three days only spoting but a few year ago I started noticing very heavy periods for 1st three days. Luckily I started fasting and found your Channel so I started following your book it's been almost a month and after 5 years I got my normal periods back. Thanks for help I am really grateful.

I think I’ve fasted too much over the past couple of years and my stress levels have ruined my hormones as I have very heavy periods every 21 days. Now I’ve got low iron. Looks like I will have to cut back on fasting and take better care of myself. Thanks Mindy :)
I recommend you read the book" cure your fatigue" by morley Robbins that states that Iron in blood is different than Iron in the tissues, and actually a low serical iron is a dysfunction where you can have too much iron stuck in your tissues and you need more cooper to get it moving. I'm not a doctor, but I have the same problem and I have started diggin more into health issues
Not going to lie these videos are the reason I'm having my Nexplanon removed. I was sans cycle for approximately 7 years, irregular (heavy, long, & frequent) for 2 years, pregnant 1 year. Enough is enough. Time to nurture my body instead of just telling my hormones to shut up.

I had a total hysterectomy at 25 because of fibroids, adenomyosis and a bunch of other (probably avoidable BS ) it took me YEARS to recover from this torture. I had to be transfused AND given a D&C during EVERY single period. I couldn’t afford depends so I wore toddler pull-up diapers to try and catch the blood. Most dehumanising experience of my life to date. I wasn’t overweight either, but I was eating a LOT of toxic crap.
I am so very sorry you went thru this traumatic scenario. Especially so young. Did you have your ovaries and cervix removed? And was it done laparoscopically robotic or open? Researching this now and saw your post. I hope you are stronger and healthier than ever. ❤️
Thanks for the info, I haven’t had my period since October. I’m 48 , I’m preparing my self to do 4:2:1 method fasting , last few months I was doing prolong fast . By the way I have ordered you book . I have to teach my teen daughter too . Thanks dr
For years I complained to my obgyn about this and they would just say I had a heavy period. I grew up with thin and losing hair and is until now in my high 40’s that i’m learning thanks to dr. mindy and online info that my hair grows even, doesn’t fall and I am ok with my emotional rollercoaster prior to my period. Now I am eating starches and carbs and know that my body needs it! I feel traditional doctors never bothered to help me.
Thank you SO much for breaking this down for us, it's so important and so misunderstood by the medical community at large out there, that we're often left feeling hopeless. I started noticing things like random breast pain, breakthrough bleeding when running the week before my period, adult acne, heavy flow, major clots, dry skin, hair thinning, brittle nails, etc. and because I was "only" 41 at the time, my doctor refused to test my hormones and instead had me go through mammograms, ultrasounds, blood tests for my pituitary gland, etc. and ultimately told me to use more lotion, drink more water and if the heavy periods persisted and really bothered me, I could consider going back on birth control pills, uterine ablation or a hysterectomy. I was sure those couldn't be my only options, so I've spent the last 2 years really delving into research on hormones, diet, exercise and lifestyle and this is some of the best I've found. I have hope once again, thank you for that!! 🙏🏽💗 Also, I read your Menopause Reset a couple of years ago and just started reading Fast Like a Girl, so excited and grateful for these resources!! Will share with sister and teen daughters. 🙌🏼🤗🌺
I'm 61 now but have been a one meal a day person for most of my adult life. Never bled heavily and had a very easy menopause with barely any symptoms. Now I possibly know why.
Many times there is a more serious reason for heavy bleeding. Fibroids, cysts, cancer and the like. If you do not approach this early enough you can spiral in to anemia which is a wild chase of iron and ferritin levels for months. If you are bleeding that much every 28 days, you are not likely to catch up on iron and ferritin levels from the loss of blood. I speak from firsthand experience. Be vigilant for yourself❤️
Last year at 39 my thyroid was out of whack, and I ended up having a 7 week long super heavy period. The doctors checked EVERYTHING and decided that I should either check myself into the ER or take a massive dose of hormones. I called my former midwife (she had 11 children and helped to bring 1000s into the world) and she recommended two products ---} Slow Flow and Hemaplex. By the next day my bleeding had normalized and two days later my almost 2 month long period came to a quiet end. I am now on a mission to figure out my hormones so that I can balance them. I'm so tired of the brain fog, weight gain, and fatigue. I just turned 40 and have had a 3 month break from my cycle. I know it's perimenopause! What now? Should I get some cream or something to help replace low progesterone? Also, I need to start fasting again because I had great success with it a few years ago (I lost nearly 50 lbs!) but got off track because my job is sedentary now. I'm up 30 lbs. It's so sad because I worked hard to get to goal weight of 130! Thank you you being here for all of us women! I couldn't get ANY answers from the "medical professionals" that I payed to help me. My midwife no longer treats me and she's not covered by my current insurance, or else she would help me! She offered but I could afford the $500 dollar labs. What you're doing is life saving! I admire your dedication and honesty! Please keep up the amazing work your doing! GOD bless you, Monica
@Mindy Thanks Mindy!!! Mind blowing (or not) we don’t know/learn this as women! Wondering if you can do a video about fibroids as so many women struggle with this and the western model’s only solution is a hysterectomy. Thanks for all you do!! I appreciate you!! I share your information with every woman I know!
I'm now following all your advice and found this video super helpful. I would love to see a video on anaemia. My periods didn't suddenly get heavy at 40, I've had heavy periods my whole life, and I've tried nearly everything to correct them. I haven't tried consistently no to low exercise prior and eating more carbs (although i know i wouldve in my younger years, and yet still had heavy periods). This cycle I did a 5 day fast and then went straight into my 7 day lead up. I tried de-stressing, no working out and more carbs. And yet for 2 days I still gushed, it depletes me horridly. I know I'm one of many women suffering from heavy periods leading to anaemia and fatigue. For someone who prides herself on excellent health, already doing all your suggestions, its quite disheartening. Would love your guidance.
I have endometriosis and I am on orilissa and on iud. I dont have a menstrual cycle. But I do have fatigue and alot of pain. Not sure what diet to use. Thanks char
This video could not have come at a better time! I am suffering from this very symptom of perimenopause and I have been prescribed progesterone pills for 3 months and a uterine device after that. I absolutely do not want to go that route and I am trying to find other ways of tackling this. Would love to know about your thoughts on DIM supplement please. Or anything else you could please recommend. Thank you 🙏🏻.

I have read the book, and learnt so much in the past 3 months. I’m 47, had the Mirena IUD from 27-45, with no period. I’ve had to figure out how to have one again… my cycle was between 23-24 days. Now following the fasting guide for my cycle, and the nurture phase my cycle is now 26-27 days. The progesterone headache has not been present for the past two months. But this month I’ve had the heaviest period I’ve ever experienced. I was wiped out for the second day. My gynaecologist says I’m nowhere near perimenopause, but I’m not sure. I’ll extend the nurture phase from ovulation for the next couple of months to see how that helps. I want to try and reduce the effect I had this month. Also, I always find the symptoms worse when I ovulate on the right side, which was this month. I’m in South Africa so ordering the Dutch test here is not an option unfortunately. Any other thoughts?

I too had a hysterectomy at 43..Im 49 now... due to horrible continuous bleeding. Was a part of my life that was not good. Blood transfusion, huge fibroids, was put on a triple dose of the pill! Crazy...Docs didn't know what to do, except say... remove it! Was able to keep ovaries. Wish I had this info back then. Waiting for book as well. How do I follow a cycle with no period? Anyway....
Hi Dr. Mindy! What if fasting is causing potting?… i am use to fasting 12-16 hours fast but notice that after 2 days of fasting I always have spotting. I can’t figure out what’s happening! Thanks for your response in advance 🙏🏼
Thanks dr. Mindy But you didn't mention anything about magnesium, which type and when should I take it to help with my period cramping? The week before or during the period? Can't find helpful info on Google. I just got off my IUD and the bleeding returned very heavy (~100ml on the first day).
48 years old, had continuous bleeding for 4 months. There was no more cycle to track. Then it just became uncontrollable massive hemorrhaging of tissue and blood. Doc said I have an intramuscular fibroid and was going to do and D&C and biopsy. I ended up taking myself to the ER while waiting for the procedure and got on Progesterone. Doc got to my procedure the next week. I don't know what the heck is going on. But if you have no cycle, no period, and just keep bleeding... you just don't know what to do. Except take a loan out to keep buying pads. Meeting with the doc next week to talk about next steps. Now I have to start researching hysterectomy and hormone supplementation. Ugggg... I'd hoped this would be much easier.
I’m fairly new to IF. I downloaded your book. I’m a 7 year BC survivor and I would love your insight on IF and I am almost positive I’m peri menopausal. I’ll be 48 in 2 weeks. Hormones all crazy but that also led my cancer so when they go crazy it gives me PTSD. It does not run in my family.

I'm now post menopausal , I wish I had of seen this video while I was still menstruating in my early fifties as I started to suffer very heavy periods that went on for a few years, if only I knew low progesterone could have been the cause . My iron was so low I required iron infusions . A Mirena was suggested by a couple of Doctor's, unfortunately low progesterone was never mentioned.
Hi Dr Mindy, I have changed a lot to make my pms better and believe I have accomplished it. Only thing I'm struggling with is ovulation tiredness. Hello Dr. Mindy. I'm dealing with fibroids. Two years ago, I had anemia, and I recently was diagnosed with diabetes. I really don't know where to start. 😢
Thank you for sharing with me. I cannot touch on this not knowing your medical history. I would highly advise reaching out to your health practitioner to discuss the best possible solution for YOU 💙 Also know that healing your metabolism, developing metabolic flexibility and opening up detox pathways in addition to whole foods and fasting are our first line of defense. 👍
Well I guess I'm out. 39 soon to be 40 this year. Periods are 18 days apart for forever it seems. Was recently diagnosed with uterine fibroids too. Was told my FSH/TSH/Androgens were completely normal. So I guess I'll just grin and bear it as usual. 😢😢😢😢
Im 50, carnivore then meat based following 5 years vegan. My periods are now 2 to 3 days longer and very heavy with some cramps. I have skipped a couple as well. When vegan they were 3 days, light, zero cramps... I'd forget I was on my period. It may not be dietary changes though just perimenopause. But carnivore is a fasting state so I do wonder.
I bought a hormone testing kit to find when my luteal phase is. It’s for tracking ovulation with 5 strips so I’ll use the 5 day strips as 5 weeks instead 🤷🏻♀️ My whole life I had horrible periods. And my uterus had a fibroid in the wall that ruptured in 2019, so it’s definitely time to find my own rhythm again
I followed your book, and it didn't help. I've hemorrhaged on my cycle the last 20 years. Going keto helped, but it was still very bad. Going full carnivore helped more. If I have ANY carbs before my period, the pain is so bad I vomit, I scream, I pass out. Doctors have been worthless. I have fibroids, and insulin stimulates their growth. I have yet to hear you speak on fibroids. Please please please address fibroids.
Thank you for all these information you give us, and I want to share me experience with cold blunges that I was doing because of the heat this month caused me a late and heavey menstal bleeding so what should we do if woman faces heat weather and want just a cold shower. And what is the right time in my menstrual cycle to take iron, because I have iron anemia. ❤❤❤
I’m curious because I don’t have any issues the week before my period, but after I get my period, a few days in, it’s pure Hell (fatigue, brain fog, carb cravings, cramps). Should I do your “nurturing” phase into my actual period? I just finished reading Fast Like a Girl and am obsessed! Thank you!! 😊

Hi Dr Mindy! I'm on a 3 day water fast and day 5 of my cycle. I started fasting on day 3. Today I passed a large clot and a few smaller ones. Is it okay to start a water fast on Day 3 of my cycle? Not sure if progesterone is still supposed to play a role at that point. Note that this current period came 3 weeks late, and I'm 100% certain that it came (at last) due to following the guidelines in your book.👍 Thank you! PS. I was killing progesterone due to being a all-systems-go corporate career woman for too long. Time to take things slower. 34yrs and wanting to get pregnant within the next 2 years.
Hi! Dr. Mindy I am in low carb intermitten fasting. Usually in my peroids i feel more hungry I want to eat freqently. If i will not fast before period week , it will deacrese?
Dr. Mindy, last year, I was continuously bleeding for months (9/12 months) of the year. Right now I stopped bleeding and just received 4 infusions of iron, but I have no idea where I am in my cycle because I’m so irregular. I never know when it will start or when it will stop. Do you recommend I just start the 30-day reset plan from your book even tho I don’t know if I’m in a power phase, manifestation phase or nurture phase??
Hi there, please consider the Dutch test to helps you with this. 🙂 Thanks for watching! Here is the link for DUTCH test information - bit.ly/dutch-test-ytc
Hey Mindy what about when in perimenopause? When you don't know when your bleed will come? I had a 72 day cycle, then BAM! A flooding period, which is now still going at day six. I have low iron stores already! Is this likely low progesterone still? I have had all clear for scans etc, so it is defo perimenopause. Feeling quite light headed, trying to nurture myself with oatmeal, root veg, warming foods etc, dark choc, dark leafy greens. And some herbs. But wondering if I have been doing too much in terms of rushing around. So I am trying to slow down. X

@drmindy what about light brown flow the first 2 days followed by 2 days of normal bleeding and last day low flow for the past 3 cycles. I am 34 years and for most of my life I have had normal cycles.
Hi Mindy! I followed your link in my Instagram post regarding Adenomyosis. I'm wondering if you have seen any studies on the effects of fasting & Adenomyosis? Or if there is a particular video you have made? Thanks ☺️
Hi there! While I don't have specific studies on fasting and Adenomyosis, fasting can have positive effects on hormone balance and inflammation, which might indirectly benefit those with Adenomyosis. You might want to explore my UA-cam channel and other resources for more information. It's always a good idea to consult your healthcare provider before making any significant changes to your health regimen. Take care!
Hi Dr Mindy. Thanks for all of your help and videos. I’ve also read your book! I just completed a fast that was about 50 or so hours, I wanted to get to 72 but I felt awful (body aches, headache). Two questions first what are you thoughts about how I felt at the end of the fast? Also during the fast I had a big blood clot come out (I’m on my period) otherwise I didn’t haven much clotting this cycle. Do you know what this could mean?
Hi @blimygluck great question! 💙 Please go to my UA-cam channel where you can keyword search to find more information on this topic and so much more! ua-cam.com/users/DrMindyPelz
So is low carb ok during the week before period? How many carbs do I need to kick in progesteron? I weight 47kg trying to gain with no success over the last 20 yrs
It is okayif you are postmenopausal. If you need more hormone enhancment, no, have some sweet potatoes. Get the book, it explains Fast LIke A Girl now available in bookstores. www.fastlikeagirl.com
Does this advice apply even if you are insulin resistant? I'm also afraid that if I add carbs for a week, that I won't be able to stop. Additionally, I went off Keto for 6 months and always got migraine-like headaches on the 1st day of my period. This is one of the reasons I went back to Keto and am afraid that adding carbs back even for a week will bring back those headaches. I have a very heavy and long period (7-10days) when I'm on keto and when I'm not on keto, the period is not AS heavy, more clots but only lasts about 5 days. I also use progesterone cream.
I tried to fast 2 cycles from day 1 and every time it was a failure as I was starving, weak and in a terrible mood and I am a heavy bleeder. I think I will keep it to keto during the 1st few days of bleeding and not fast because it really doesn't work for me
I have debilitating endometriosis and have to take large doses of synthetic progesterone to keep it from growing. Do you have any advice on this subject?
Thank you for sharing with me. I cannot touch on this not knowing your medical history. I started having extremely heavy periods from one month to the next started at 37. But I have a 5.6 submucosal fibroid and they said that's the cause but I don't believe it. Could this help me?
Progesterone doesnt work for me. Heavy bleeding started after my last missed miscarriage, irregular periods, and 1 hemorrhage ended in emergency room. 1 surgery hysteroscopy. Didnt work very long. Progesterone makes me bleed, birth control makes me bleed every 2 week's. 45, had 5 kids, i highly doubt its low Progesterone. Why? It makes me bleed. Iodine deficiency may be an issue. Supposedly, supposed to help regulate cycles and shorten them.
Please talk about why young women, teens and into their 20’s, bleed heavily & have bad cramps- is this also low progesterone? All of my daughters bleed heavily, I did too in my younger years.

🙌
And some people who are evangelical about fasting would tell you that fasting definitely CURES flooding.
I just tried this too this past month and had a MUCH milder experience as well! I was shocked and super grateful because I was on vacation and had been dreading it.
And updates or additional insights?
Do you have any updates, please?
Can you please do a video on POLYPS, FIBROIDS, and LONG PERIODS,
A video like that would be great.

That's so sweet of you! 💗
Dr. Mindy you LITERALLY hanged my life. After years of having to stop my life on the days of my period and the week before, after fast like a girl all of that is I the past. Understanding my hormones and how to use fasting as a tool to help my body shine has truly changed my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I'm glad to hear that, but it's your hard work and persistence that made it happen. Keep it up! 💙
💙
Where have u been my whole life!!!! O can't wait till my book shows up!!!!
💚
Wow you are really the only information out there going really into detail and making it easy to understand for many of women's problems. Thank you!

🥺
I am so so sorry for what you have been through. I hope eventually you will recover from these traumas 😢 sending hugs
I am so very sorry you went thru this traumatic scenario. Especially so young. Did you have your ovaries and cervix removed? And was it done laparoscopically robotic or open? Researching this now and saw your post. I hope you are stronger and healthier than ever. ❤️

You've got this! 💪
🙌💙
Also, I read your Menopause Reset a couple of years ago and just started reading Fast Like a Girl, so excited and grateful for these resources!! Will share with sister and teen daughters. 🙌🏼🤗🌺

I'm 61 now but have been a one meal a day person for most of my adult life. Never bled heavily and had a very easy menopause with barely any symptoms. Now I possibly know why.
🙌
Yes, I started this practice and my next 2 periods had no clotting and zero pain. I'm telling everyone lol
🤗
Absolutely you are constantly trying to catch up through nutrition , it's a full time job even as a meat eater
What did u do to overcome over bleeding?
GOD bless you,
Monica

Dr. Mindy, thank you for sharing this information. What resources do you have or advice for adenomyosis?

🤗
I’m curious because I don’t have any issues the week before my period, but after I get my period, a few days in, it’s pure Hell (fatigue, brain fog, carb cravings, cramps). Should I do your “nurturing” phase into my actual period? I just finished reading Fast Like a Girl and am obsessed! Thank you!! 😊
Consider doing the monthly reset protocol in Fast Like a Girl for all the phases and keep repeating to be in sync with your hormones. Be aware and mindful of stress and cortisol management.

@@DrMindyPelz Thanks so much!! 🌸
Try and see that is the only way to tell

Helli Sarah how are you now? my sister is also experiencing heavy bleeding

@@DrMindyPelz Amazing, thank you! I have your fast like a girl book and have also read your meno reset book! Love your work.
Take care!
Thank you so much

I have fibriods, and having been told that fasting has caused this. I'm so lost.
Dealing with this today ...2 years in perimenopause ..
@@DrMindyPelz does this video also apply to menstrual cramping?
Hi @blimygluck great question! 💙 Please go to my UA-cam channel where you can keyword search to find more information on this topic and so much more! ua-cam.com/users/DrMindyPelz
So is low carb ok during the week before period? How many carbs do I need to kick in progesteron? I weight 47kg trying to gain with no success over the last 20 yrs
It is okayif you are postmenopausal. If you need more hormone enhancment, no, have some sweet potatoes.
Get the book, it explains

Does this advice apply even if you are insulin resistant? I'm also afraid that if I add carbs for a week, that I won't be able to stop. Additionally, I went off Keto for 6 months and always got migraine-like headaches on the 1st day of my period. This is one of the reasons I went back to Keto and am afraid that adding carbs back even for a week will bring back those headaches.
I have a very heavy and long period (7-10days) when I'm on keto and when I'm not on keto, the period is not AS heavy, more clots but only lasts about 5 days. I also use progesterone cream.
Yes.
As a diabetic how can i manage to eat more carbs 1 week before my period? I use keto for controlling my blood sugar
I tried to fast 2 cycles from day 1 and every time it was a failure as I was starving, weak and in a terrible mood and I am a heavy bleeder. I think I will keep it to keto during the 1st few days of bleeding and not fast because it really doesn't work for me
👍💪
I have debilitating endometriosis and have to take large doses of synthetic progesterone to keep it from growing. Do you have any advice on this subject?
Thank you for sharing with me. I cannot touch on this not knowing your medical history. I would highly advise reaching out to your health practitioner to discuss the best possible solution for YOU 💙
Endometriosis is inflammatory and anything that helps to reduce inflammation is beneficial (fasting helps inflammation). To learn more about inflammation, watch my teaching video:

All of the information/studies are on my book "Fast Like A Girl". 🙂
