I think it being relatively empty sets the mood even more, it would’ve been less terrifying had you walked in and there were just soldiers and bats everywhere
@anom2619 your point doesn't really stand since while there isn't soldiers and bats theres sheep and rats aswell a few honesent guys. The aged ones are rather pathetic as this area's gimmick as there isnt a lot of them to make them a threat besides the insta kill move that is very easy to parry. On top of that you can literally just run past them and like normal enemies they give up shortly after.
@@gubly849 I think Fromsoft put a few too many signs on the ground. The first few signs scared me, but the last few signs explained a little too much. And one of the signs is even misleading because parry is an ash of war (and thus a tool for combat) and we can kill the enemies, so technically it's a lie that we can't fight them. If they hadn't put that sign there, I would've definitely tried parrying them. Too bad I believed them.
@@anom2619 I think it's more an issue of managing expectations based on the cool-looking map. Kind of a roller coaster because at first I had no clue if the fog below was even explorable or what the map east looked like, then finally arrived to abyssal wood realizing it was one of the biggest areas, then realized exploring every nook and cranny wasn't even encouraged. So it does create a freaky mood, but the real estate is a bit wasted. I mostly avoided the insta-kill enemies but that was maybe a bit too easy, there's a lot of "tell" but not "show". The dungeon was fine and the boss nice. South of Midra's Mane is one of the indications that they didn't finish everything they wanted, even if I'm having enough of a blast with the DLC overall.
I think that's some waste potential there. I feel like there should have been a frenzied tree avatar there. Something kin to the frenzied flame ending. That would have been so cool but no.
Love Elden Ring, might be getting an Elden Ring tattoo. But the DLC has a LOT of empty wasted space that feels unfinished tbh. Its great, but the problems of the Consecreted Snowfields in basegame are back with a vengeance for basically the entire southern part of the map.
Idk i really like having an open world where there isnt just stuff literally everywhere. Cerulean coast is awesome because I realized I dont have to scour every corner for loot, its nice to have packed maps, but when the whole thing has so much it can get VERY exhausting and tedious, I think the dlc strikes a good balance between having plenty of things to do around while also not being entirely barren Visuals and atmosphere also really help with certain areas, its why the coast and abyss are good areas but snowfield isnt, you have a nice vibe and pretty sights on cerulean coast and a perfect horror feeling in the abyss, but snowfield is half blinding and half unimpressive white and trees and very little distant objects
Please can you make a video to showing us what it looks like at the top of the tower, at the arena where we fight Radahn. I mean the place where Radahn is at the beginning of the fight, on those steps, between those two little towers where all the bodies are. You see what I mean, you get into the arena and in the intro you see Radah appear at the top of the steps! I would have liked to go up after the fight, but this is not possible because the stairs were broken by Fromsoft! Please a video!
You have to appreciate the attention to details From put into the game. They created tons of empty uninteresting areas for us to go through and "explore", but that wasn't enough. They even created huge empty uninteresting areas we can't see behind the fog just for background noise, in case our frames didn't drop enough! They even made a reference to so many aspects of their games, by not finishing it! Huge fan, best DLC, perfect game. People who disagree are uninformed haters.
finnaly know what here developers its lazy to make here small map spot extra loot or mobs or godwin strukture or something maybe next underground or small church
Fr, the amount of empty or poorly-utilized areas in the DLC is disappointing. It’s like they put all their focus into the center of the map and the legacy dungeons, and threw the rest in just to pad it out.
When people say the DLC is very empty we are not exaggerating. The map should be shrunken down by 50% or 30% minimum. There is even that one cliff/mountain at the top of the map that you cant even climb on top of. I assumed it would have been a similar thing with Moonlight Altar in Liurnia but its not accessible.
When i was playing i was like "im missing something?"
Abyssal woods was such a nice shift in tone, too bad the zone is basically empty.

I wish they finished this place. It could be a cool secret route to the Jagged Peak and a good place for a frenzy dragon.
Aw what a shame. Thank you for this, i thought I was missing something but it turns out it's not even meant to be accessible.
Phew... Itch has been scratched. Thanks for the video.

Finally, we get to see the birth of a skull lmao
Also, jumpscare warning after 3:27
Torrent jumpscare
even MORE Pantagana content
Thank You. That lone skull is interesting 🤔
The skulls seem to be procedurally generated. New ones appear on random places, and old ones disappear if you just walk around.
Thank you! I've been wondering about this area for a while.
This area was my biggest disappointment, I searched for over 2hours trying to get here.
Love this channel! Keep up the good work!

Why make it a open world game if there isn't anything do explore?
@@AutistiCat2406 the most fun in open world games is exploration.....
@@KFSENSEIwhat game are you refering to? ER and Erdtree have tons of stuff to explore
Well that was disappointing. But it's incredibly weird how these OOB places have collision where they're most likely just to be visual.
People really are reaching when they are saying this is an incomplete area instead of just intentional background map filler
