    Don't forget the buttkicker! Feeling the vibration of different road surfaces and curbs and the "thunk" of the gear shift really makes it feel more real.

      Get a haptic vest. Blows the butt shakers out of the water. I picked up a Woojer Vest Edge and, that combined with VR and my sim rig, is the most immersive experience I have ever had.

    Transducers will also give you more “feel”. And that’s isn’t that expensive.

    i know he's like the sim racing king but i don't agree with his final list, the Rig and wheelbase almost certainly should change positions because no big investment in a wheelbase is worth shit if you are slapping a direct drive on your rickety table. pedals followed by a stable platform will be the best options first, this allows your new shiny pedals a stable place to be because nobody likes pushing a load cell while sat in a office chair sliding backwards, then when the time is right upgrade that g29 to a DD and you are good to go. everything else was on point though. i think on reflection he might agree with me, all immersion is broken if you hit that brake and go backwards every time. pedals swiftly followed by a stable rig which is then ready for the big boy wheelbase is the way every time.

    Just to add a little here before you invest in sim racing, a platform to play on. A budget gaming PC is enough to run all sim racing games at 1080p 75hz in a single monitor. I don't know if the requirements increase when using triple monitors though.

    The Oculus quest 2 is now better than the rift s as far as specs and upgraded hardware go with both costing the same price. Only difference being that the quest can be a standalone headset as-well as doing everything that the rift s was capable of by connecting it to a computer or laptop.

    No shakers or transducers? I can setup a kit for like 50$...

      Yeah I remember trying Dirt Rally with the Rift and... well it wasn't good!! :) Don't know how long you played it for but after a couple of days I was fine, and I haven't looked back tbh.

      You’ve gotta work your way up slowly, don’t go too hard and stop immediately if you feel nauseous. Also, playing a variety of other VR experiences including room scale (eventually using continuous movement options) can help build stronger “VR legs” in general.

    If you want the most IMMERSIVE rig then there's absolutely no point talking about budget hardware, no mention of dbox style motion in this video, GS5 seat, seat belt tensioners etc All of these things add to IMMERSION when combined with VR

  • @DJDiarrhea

    300 bucks for a seat isn't exactly budget hardware lol

      in simracing it is. You can’t expect an expensive sport to be cheap

    • @X1erra
      @X1erra 3 роки тому

      It's not even the most important thing; as he said a load cell brake is his #1 priority. And the cheapest one, Thrustmaster T-LCM should come close to the price of a seat... No doubt it's an expensive hobby that everyone should gradually upgrade over a long period of time.

    How you can talk about immersion when your FOV on your displays are horrendous.

    Ur driving content is good, but ur hardware and review content is shallow and superficial at best, with no real insight or opinion past what one would know as a beginner or after ten minutes of google. U dont mention wind sims, transducers, dashes, motion or anything that actually helps immersion past the basic.

      Did it ever cross your mind that this was aimed at the "Basic" side of getting setup and as it says in the bio it is James personal preferences and maybe he doesn't like the stuff you have mentioned. So maybe take a chill pill and just enjoy the content for what it is, Someone giving their opinion
