Before she did, my mom and daughter got into an argument about the way my daughter was talking to me. Mom said, "She may be your mother, but she is my baby." I almost melted. That's what parenting is all about. She will always be your baby.
I love your mom for that line! My mom's baby is only my younger sister. It's like I only exist in her PAST. However, what your mom said is something I would say to my future grandchildren. That's love. ❤

There are very few relationships I aspire to have but THIS right here is one of them. The mutual love, respect, adoration and friendship they have for each other is everything. They genuinely LIKE each other. Goals for sure. 🥰
They always seemed to have a forever love but now as they talk about her, it comes across more viscerally. Maybe that is what we mean when we say "love at first sight." It seems that baby was a part of them before they knew her. They seem both brand new and the most themselves. New parents always articulate this sense of not knowing, but I find them to be unusually prepared for this/primed for her/available for each other and the process. I don't know that feeling of home he mentioned when she asked about their love, but witnessing it makes me so hopeful.
