- A few years ago I made a box to hold my every day carry, or EDC as the cool kids say. In this video I remake it with some wild carving for my new EDC Pistol.

YT did not like the last video so yes I will watch again. A little confused on the sparks coming from the band saw while cutting wood... Love the hidden box concept.
Our bandsaw uses blocks for stabilizers, sometimes they spark when i push them on curves

For a little extra control with your contour sander, get sanding disks that are larger than the diameter of the plate where the disks attach. This will give you the ability to soften or round out inside corners so they aren't too sharp. All you need to do is do a pretty good eyeball when you're lining up the disk to the tool.
Nice. The carving is like woodworking jazz. Of course there is a bit of irony in making a post about your "secret" gun hiding spot.

What was wrong with first video?
@@jimmyjohn8008 youtube doesn't like things that launch projectiles (even saying the word can flag it due to the auto captions). And then the video gets limited/demonetised etc.

Wow! Very awesome. Consider adding 2 dovetail inserts on the bottom to lock the secret drawer in place
I love the design's organic feel. Very nice. I think I would line the interior of both the gun cubby and the catch all with some kind of black felt. Protect the gun and gives the outward appearance a slightly more refined look. Maybe the next version, for the next gun, you can incorporate some kind of hidden magnetic mechanism to open the bottom - make it a bit more secure from any little yinz that might be around.

Looks really great man! Also, that was a great reveal. Sometimes I feel like you rush and cut short showing the finished product but you gave us a great look that time!

That is bad ass, yeah ok the gun is to lol. I love how you carved the outside so the maple comes through the walnut. That’s an awesome box even if it didn’t have the hidden gun compartment. Love your channel and how you come right out with any mistakes you made opposed to editing them out and maybe redoing the piece without having it in the video.

That looks amazing you should have included a dowel or magnet to hold it in so people don't accidentally discover the pistol.

Love the design. Think I’ll make one, I have little kids, so I need to keep all firearms locked up, but I guess you don’t, so this should be fine. I’ll just omit the secret compartment.
Are you concerned that with such a tight fit, with some seasonal movement the bottom may get stuck at points?

Hmm... Imho, I'd modify it with a multislot pen holder inside with a little arm to hold them down. And the arm can serve as a key release lever through to unlock the bottom cabinet. Swing one way, nothing. Swing the otherway unlocks the bottom.
