Step 1) cold shower Step 2) analyze emotion (experience, effort, energy) Step 3) get a CLEAR plan, thats way too EASY Step 4) ONLY FOCUS on the task only. Step 5) get the task done.
I want to avoid procrastination so I can finally feel that amazing sensation at the end of the day where you feel like you deserve a rest, and you are amazing
5-Step Full Procrastination Protocol: Step 1) 3:39 Clear your mind (and identify the emotion -): cold shower and/or head on a bowl of ice cubes (short term); meditate and exercises (long term); Step 2) 4:39 Deconstruct the emotion (is it lack of experience/clarity for the task?, is the task too low/high effort?, is your energy level low at the moment?): Think about your current situation to think of prompts to why did that negative emotion appear now? You have the skills and knowledge? Did your friends just invited you to play? Is it fear of judgement/failure? Step 3) 5:27 Get a CLEAR plan, that's way too EASY you would be STUPID not to do it, even as stupider as create a sentence or even a word. If the reason if low energy level atm, make a clear plan of action for the next day. Step 4) 7:11 Begin to execute, don't think too hard on the plan, just start. Just get working, even if the negative emotions are not completely gone. Step 5) 7:56 Celebrate your ability to overcome procrastination (that day).
@@bonquva I ain't no expert, but I think people usually dont feel low energy for tasks they enjoy alot, so try to find ways to make it more enjoyable like study with friends, or create funny mnemonics or stories for everything you read, or do something ridiculous for every exercise or chapter you finish, but try not to do everything at once, like a whole subject in one day, take small steps so they dont feel overwhelming. And it also could be your health/sleep schedule, try to sleep more or less, or at a different time like if you sleep at 12am, try to sleep at 10pm and wake up early, switch that, it might help.🫡
How I beat procrastination 1. Make a plan 2. Make a schedule 3. Wake up when the sun rises or wake up at an adequate time (6:00 am - 9:00 am is the time you should be waking up) 4. Don't skip meals 5. Drink water 6. Go outside when you feel overwhelmed and get some sunlight and fresh air 7. Don't sleep to late. (I usually try to sleep between 11:00 pm - 12:00am) 8. Exercise. Don't do to much when you exercise. Do something beginner friendly 9. Organize your life.
This is by far one of the best and practical videos I’ve seen about overcoming procrastination. I appreciate the fact that he mentioned that procrastination has no cure, it’s a life long battle. That’s the reason such videos help.
I want to beat procrastination just because it will help me so much in life! There's nothing better than finishing a hard task and realizing that it wasn't that bad and you just needed to get started. Wish everyone luck on your studies and your life
I don’t have energy to study for finals because I just finished senior year with straight A’s (not a single B this year) and I don’t have the energy to study for these finals. It’s a lot of effort and energy I have to spend to ace these exams. (But I only need to pass 2 of the exams) So, my clear and stupid goals for tomorrow are: 1) Wake up around 7am & study 2) Study: practice rewriting the things I need to memorize for the exam. 3) If I still have energy, practice outlining my essay off the top of my head. 4) Praise myself by doing something I enjoy afterwards. (*Very important step*) 7:30 is exactly what I needed to hear. I often get so caught up in my head that I don’t even begin what I need. By taking smaller steps, I can slowly achieve my goal.
Small tip: The Getting Started Rule says that action leads to motivation. Not the other way around most of the time. Trust me once you get started it builds momentum, just like running a race.
My school grades have dropped significantly, I used to be all naturally gifted, but now as I'm getting Year 10 and actually have to study, its gotten harder and harder. That's why I want to overcome procrastination. I also get very stressed when things are out of my control, and I want to minimise my stress. Thank you so much for this video!
Wow! As a long-time procrastinator I've watched probably hundreds of videos on this topic (instead of doing my work lol) and this is probably the one that is gonna stay with me for longer. I already made mental notes and adjustments in my mind as I watched instead of passively agreeing/disagreeing on what I heard. The way you present information is hugely accesible, fun, condensed, cutting straight to the point and just what I needed. From a graphic/motion design point of view: also fantastic! Thank you!
Why do i want to beat procrastination 1. I want to talk to my crush 2.i want to achieve and enjoy the small things in life 3.to motivate my self that there is still hope outhere for myself
I struggled a lot with my master's thesis, and it took me about three years to finish it. I didn't know how to get myself out of this situation because I hadn't faced problems like this during my time at university. So, I went to a student counseling service, and they advised me to write only one page a day. Even that was too challenging for me, so I decided to write half a page (almost) every day. Of course, my problem was much more profound, but this approach helped me to make progress. Thanks so much for all your videos!
With just two months left before my exam, my goal is to achieve an A grade, but my biggest obstacle has always been procrastination. However, my fortunes turned around when I stumbled upon a life-changing video that revealed why I've always fallen short of my goals. With this newfound knowledge, I am now armed with five powerful steps to conquer procrastination and ace my exam with flying colors!
good luck i'm about to have my finals too and I am trying not to procrastinate, even doing my yt videos is a bit of a way to procrastinate for me but now exams are my focus :P
What I do to beat procastination: 1. Stop following a rigid schedule 2. Break things into small steps 4. Analyze my emotion 5. Have a good health (Mentallt & Physically)
This video is very helpful because it deals with an unspoken problem of our generation, procrastination. It has to be taken seriously for a couple of particular reasons, although the main one, in my opinion, is that it is a symptom of a much dangerous state of emotion, like the ones you mentioned earlier in the video. Great choice of subject and great video. I wish you all the best of luck.
so true i feel that my life is always out of control (just like at my messy life on my vlogs, like I'm just waiting for it to be "normal 😏) but I've discovered that the beauty of life is how uncontrollable it is
The biggest revelation I had is that there isn’t just one form of procrastination, we all procrastinate in different ways. Just made a video about 5 different types, learned so much making it😁🙌🏼
MEDITATION IS INDEED VERY POWERFUL I AM FROM INDIA 2 YEARS BACK WHEN I WAS GIVING MY 10 GRADE EXAM I USED TO MEDIDATE AND IT GAVE ME SO MUCH POWER AND I LEARNED TO CONTROL MY MIND BUT NOW I HAVENT MEDIDATE FOR A YEAR CAUSE I THOUGHT I HAVE ACHIEVED CONTROL ON MY MIND FOREVER NOW ITS TIME FOR MY ENTRANCE EXAM AND I CANT FOCUS SO NEVER SKIP MEDITATION
bro havent watched the vid yet but i just realized my procrastination is that bad when i chose to add this in my “watch later” playlist together with 1000+ pending videos i havent watched yet 💀
To me, a very useful thing was to stablish levels of work. I wouldn't be able to cary three hours sessions of study (my current level), if I haven't started with one hour plans. That way, you can feel proud for your progress in the practice itself, not only with the result. What ends up happening is that I feel reward when I'm able to increase 15 more minutes of work or so, because I feel that I've earned the skill to focus for longer without losing the quality. It's a great way to make your self esteem work in your favor, the way I experience it.
I’m currently studying for a National Exam for Medical Residence (USMLE like, but in Mexico), and everyday it’s an endless battle with self-frustration, procrastination and effort. I really like your tips and videos: They helped me to keep focus.
i graduate high school this june and i've been procrastinating like crazy. Because of this video ive realized im scared. School is all i've ever known i've been privileged enough to have support by my family though it hasn't always been easy and i have a lot of trauma school has been one of the stabilities in my life thus far so i don't know what it's like to not have it for more than a few months. Everytime i get on to do school work i get panicked and start overthinking about the future. I'm gonna start in bite sized pieces and dunk my face in ice water lol maybe i can pull myself together and realize graduation is a huge achievement not just something scary. thank you so much for this video it's truly made a difference.
I want to beat procrastination because I want the freedom to go study in another city, earn a lot of money and provide for my family. I want to make cool stuff and understand how the world around me works. I want to fix and understand complicated problems, but I also want to teach. I want to enlighten and share my love for the subject. I want to teach those who want to be taught and I want to be there for them like I wish someone was for me. Aid them with the techniques, the knowledge, the routine, I want to help myself so I can help others.
I agree with the organization and thing. I also love how you guys emphasize how sometimes the most productive thing to do is “take a hot shower, get some sleep, and wake up tomorrow morning”
procrastination for me, feels like a nagging itch that i should listen to but for some reason i’m not. I run into this mainly because of a new career direction, while working my other job, the traveling and studying gets to be overwhelming sometimes and i tend to breakdown often from feeling stressed out i hope that the knowledge shared in these videos helps in the long run, thank you for your time. new season, new way of thinking!! 💪
I want to beat procrastination because i feel like i can achieve more . I feel like i can grow as a person and become the best version of myself. I want to stop getting distracted by small things because those small things tend to lead to large amounts of my time being wasted. In order to feel motivation , i must take action and enjoy what i do. I want to uncover the new me.
as my comment to why I want to beat procrastination ... Well honestly I feel throughout middle school, high school, and even college I have been following a dream of what I think I want to do with my life or what people have always said "good to do / would make me a lot of money" and have been following a career that I think I may like , but the amount of stress and anxiety that I have gained by getting through and even getting my degree, I second guess if it was actually my passion that I was willing to dedicate my life to and building the skills towards. OR did I even like computer science to begin n with, Maybe becoming this better person that is proactive, studies because he wants to and takes initiative to learn every day about the world and what's going on in life will bring a positive light to my situation and help me grow as a person and even understand that I may actually like computer science and it's not about the money. One tip that helped me a lot is writing how I felt or what I was thinking at the time! you won't imaging how many thoughts or how such a small number of thoughts will overcloud your mind and make you worry. it could just be 3 things that you may branch of into so many other things, but when you write out, it almost becomes clear or gives your mind room to breathe. just take a deep breath and focus on your thoughts after you write it out. It can only get better
Procrastination prevents us from achieving great things. It is necessary to apply the knowledge in organizing in a practical way, focus on the present moment and never stop trying.
I have a very important exam on 29th May and I am gonna do well in that! No more procrastination as I deserve much more and I wanna achieve my dreams 💪🏻✨
I wanna beat procrastination because I'm starting over. I'm just not enjoying what I do, like I used to, for the last couple of years. Dealing with perfectionism can be really hard. I know my potential but right now the most difficult thing is to just get me started with even the smallest activity. Thank you for this video. I'll just have to get on, start small and switch the formula to begin getting closer to my goals.
Procrastination, how to beat it? - Make sure your difficult tasks get done in the morning. - Keep Focus, One thing at a time. - Do it, a plan doesn't work if you don't take action. your videos are amazing, the edition and tips are incredible, thanks for sharing 🤘
you know i watch this video each morning & it simply just saves my day. such quality content you deliver, everything so precise & yet each point you mention is just..so perfectly delivered & easy to absorb. man, i can only imagine how much effort you guys put in every single one of these..and you know what? You both just keep getting better! keep up the great work 😊👍and thank you for Everything!😇
I want to be the best version of myself ever, it doesnt matter how many distractions and negative feelings are out there that ultimately demotivates u to not take up the opportunity, i would still go for it Lets be the embodiment of humanity's smartest, realest and strongest ever as a community, should most definitely be a goal haha!
I have all kinds of Procrastination mentioned in the video but I will try to incorporate these steps in my work. I procrastinate because I have the fear of failure. I want a write CAT exam which is one of the toughest and unpredictable exam for MBA entrance into top business schools. I love learning about business, finance, economics, supply chain, geopolitics but when I sit for studying I have this fear that all these efforts will become worthless if I don't get a good percentile. I think I should stop worrying about the end result and start working on the process. Also I used to put a perfect plan like a 6 month study plan but that is too perfect. If I don't follow or miss the deadline for a day I feel like I am lost. From now on I will just put a 1 week plan or a plan for one chapter and when I finish it I will award myself.
i'm strugling right now, i have many assignments to due and i just watch youtube videos all day and just postpone my work, because i know that i can complete that in just 1 hour, before this i created a timetable and actually followed it and i changed myself but i didn't do the 5th step, so i'm back to being shit, i'm getting headaches, not doing my things, like literally not even showering, i hope this finally helps me!
Procrastination Killer: Step 1.) Analyze my goals and values Step 2.) Discern what my negative emotions stem from and try to overcome that problem Step 3.) Create a CLEAR schedule, thats not stressful to do daily Step 4.) One task at a time Step 5.) Success
Best Video about procrastination. Most UA-camrs just tell us about some basic ideas while You show us how to actually work with it and make actually Personal efforts. Thank You
I want to beat procrastination so I can become a good and helpful MedTech while also instilling good values in myself while I’m still young so when I get older I don’t have to be troubled as much. I’m a Grade 11 student and I want to become better because I realized that I lost so much time in my younger high school years having no aim
The main reason i was able to over come procostinate by creating an action pan My action plan consist of this time: task 10 to 11 => Apply for jobs 11 to 11:30 => Break 11:30 to 12:30 => dsa It atmost important to give break to yourself. Follow your plan for 7 days and it will become easier going forward after 21 days it become an habit so form here it's just an curise.
First video to actually help. Clear and simple is the best advice for me. Fear of judgement, low energy, and not understanding negative emotions manifests overwhelm and stops me from doing what I need to do. Waking up early to focus on goals is my next plan of action!
Right now, I’m a 14 year old from a town with a population of 30.000. Being not natively American from any side of my parents, I’m trying to get a better life for myself and them. Right now, I’m on my way to finish musical school with A’s straight, the same thing is with my local school. I take Chinese and English classes to expand my vocabulary and find abilities for myself. But procrastination gets me off track. Learning German by myself began to look enormous, so do the usual studies. I am trying to beat it, studying active recall, active notes etc. I began to dig into self-development at the age of 13, and you are a very important aspect of my journey. Writing this comment, I hope to feel the drive of the self to keep making progress and develop a better personality.
Honestly, just like any other person, I want to beat procrastination because I feel like I'm wasting my day AND time, but because of this video, I just realized that the cause of this is because of my negative emotions, I have been feeling so low lately that I end up trying to look for comfort and that lead me to procrastination. I wasn't even sure of what I was feeling and I only thought about removing these negative emotions quickly without even trying to understand it but now I realized that in order for me stop I just had to understand and realize that it's normal for me to be like this and that trying to get rid of it will only turn worse for me. Thank you so much for making this video to be honest, if I never found this video I would have never realized why I'm procrastinating and what the cause of it is!
This video is absolutely immaculate. Clear, concise explanation. Expressive editing. Citing sources. Giving examples. This is probably the best video on procrastination out there, so thank you. It will really help me with my exam revision.
It never sat right with me that my procrastination was due to fear of failure (like everyone swears it is) because I fail at everything, that’s how I learned perseverance. Clarity of mind and not knowing where to start resonates though.
Why do I want to beat procrastination? Because it's time to take back my life. Currently, I procrastinate my way to about 3 hours of sleep a night. I easily procrastinate for about 3-4 times as long as I actually spend doing the task I've been putting off. I'm new to teaching and I procrastinate planning lessons (fear of failure, fear of being judged as being a failure, inexperienced, being overwhelmed instead of breaking stuff down 'til it's too stupid to not do) til the early hours of the morning before the lesson, and then I eventually put something together. Crash hard and sleep the whole weekend away, rinse and repeat! If I can eliminate procrastination, not only will I be able to sleep a normal amount, but I'll also have my free time back. Free time that I can use to live a fulfilling life, rather than being perpetually sleep deprived and not doing anything other than procrastinating and working. Thanks for managing to explain this in such depth, in just 10 minutes, along with step-by-step instructions. Following your example: "if it's still too hard, make it simpler and make it stupider." Thanks for making this one simpler and stupider for me. :D I've already watched this video twice (the second time with pen in hand making a summary and relating back to what I need to change). I feel like what you've given me here might actually be actionable and make a difference. I'm starting immediately. Fingers crossed I have more sleep and free time lying on the horizon!
I am not usually a procrastinator, but as soon as I feel incapable of completing a task to a high standard, I procrastinate. I am a perfectionist, and even though most people would say that is a good thing, it has been my biggest battle.
Yeah, i am like that too. I try to complete my task and even understand all the concepts but when i get to the questions,if i fail to solve 3 or 4 questions consecutively? I stop studying and when it is something i can easily do then i do it.
I don't want to waste time procrastinating as I do not want to waste time stressing. Key ways I have found help: - start assignments early - find a plan and stick to it - look after yourself (exercise, eat healthy, stay hydrated, and sleep well) - think of it as a learning curve, even if you do not get what you want, you still at least tried to and know how to do better! :)
I want to beat procrastination so bad because it’s the only way I can live happier. I spiral in regret and disappointment most times because I set out goals and don’t achieve them. It’s a really dark vicious circle of goals-plans-procrastination-failure to accomplish goal-regrets. But with this video, I’m sure I’ll get my life back on track 🙂
ChatGPT Summary: The video "How to Take Control Of Your Life │ Full Procrastination Protocol" is a five-step protocol to beat procrastination. The first step is to identify the emotion being experienced, which is often a desire to escape negative emotions. The three underlying causes of procrastination are a lack of experience, an inappropriate level of effort, and a low-energy state. The second step is to deconstruct the emotion and determine which type of procrastination is being experienced. The third step is to determine the smallest possible action that can be taken to move forward. The fourth step is to take that action, and the fifth step is to repeat the process. Additionally, the video emphasizes the importance of understanding the root causes of procrastination in order to change behavior and recommends techniques such as meditation and exercise to strengthen the mind and detach from emotional states.
Oh my God I'm needing this video right now I was studying consistently for over 3 months But today l was procrastinating and l felt so bad about that I wrote down every word you said 😂 Your video saved me Thanks ❤
i want to beat procrastination because my exams for getting into a college are starting next month and i NEED TO STUDY FOR THOSE EXAMS.i need to prove myself to myself and show myself that i can do something ... thankyou so much for this video loved it!
I'm trying to beat procrastination because I've been doing it way too much lately. I used to be a workaholic and never was really satisfied but now I'm satisfied with what I accomplished. So that's good. But the issue is that I'm writing my finals or rather I did. And I was barely able to study. My apartment was a mess and I only got to it now. While I'm cleaning I actually watch these videos, it's like having someone who has the same goal as oneself and that's just pumping up. I have friends who are... very supportive but rather on the "hey, take a break" kind of side. And I get it. Breaks are important but it's no longer a break if you've been doing it for 12 hours. I've some psychological disorders which make it very hard to do anything for days and weeks on end, so I do get why they are like that. And especially recently I suffered because of that and the procrastination that partly came from it. But the suffering doesn't come because I don't take a break, it comes from the inactions even though I want to do things. I want to follow my aims and ambitions and I wanted to study more, I wanted to have a clean apartment because I like it a lot more when it's clean and so on. And mainly hearing that a break is okay makes it... More than okay. It normalized my inactivity, which increased my troubled feelings about it etc. But now I've completely cleaned my apartment, brought stuff into the basement I don't need up here and washed clothes. Even my computer finally got cleaned (he really deserved that, my poor bby) and I'm really glad. And like I said, listening/watching these videos while doing so, made it much easier and I was even having fun after I finished a task because it's just so much better now. So, thanks for the videos, they help a lot and I try to apply some strategies. They might not heal my depression but maybe help me overcome it better😂❤
I am a high-school senior trying to learn as much as I can about a very complex ChemE subject because I am going into research next year. Even reading the subject is always hard, it can take an hour to read a page, and I need to stay on track so that I can be a valuable asset to the research group. That's why I need to avoid procrastination.
I have to beat procrastination because I don’t want to end up looking back 5 years from now and regretting. I realise this is the best chance in my life to accomplish something great
procrastination has held me back from reaching my full potential all my life. it comes in the way of me becoming the better version of myself and leaves me feeling like a sore loser. i feel like it has power over me, so here i am trying to change the narrative.
By not doing procrastination , I will be able to clear jee examination and enter IITs, the best engineering colleges in India and meet other geniuses there. There will be no limit over my thinking processes, I will get so many ideas and resources as everybody surrounding me will be from all different parts of India and also have a beautiful mind. I will meet the best people there
1. Set a goal with an effective method Analytical effectiveness: how to do this to be effective? For example, how to learn to be effective, the overall overlap [use textbooks, teaching materials, online courses, etc. to learn this course repeatedly from shallow to deep], partial overlap and repetition [if there is a piece of knowledge that you don’t understand, you can use this Learn the knowledge again, or even learn it again, summarize the notes of this knowledge, and teach this piece of knowledge to the air] Formulation purpose: learn 6 hours This forms a task or goal: learning 6h through overall overlap, partial repetition, and overlap These are the goals for my free days: hygiene tasks [clean the house to my satisfaction], diet tasks [one day ketogenic diet, one day apple cider vinegar lemon ketogenic drink], exercise tasks [probably 300 sets of exercise], study tasks [overlap overall with partial repetition and overlap] 2. Small goals Do easy goals directly. Difficult goals cut it into small goals. For example, the learning goal is difficult, cut it into: learn a page of books, take a 5-minute break, study a page of books, take a 5-minute break, watch online courses for 10 minutes, Rest for 5 minutes. It is also difficult to do exercise tasks, so I cut the exercise tasks into: do 30 sets of exercises, rest for 5 minutes, do 30 sets of exercises, and rest for 5 minutes. Ha, it is a small goal. Summary: 1 Set goals 2 Analyze an effective approach 3 Do the easy things directly. Difficult things are cut into small goals, and then replace the old goals Additional advice Learning about thinking and eating I have some suggestions here that may help. When learning, you must have a kind of thinking. For example, when you see the root sign X-4 when studying mathematics, you will naturally know that X-4 is greater than or equal to 0, and you will naturally know that X is greater than or equal to 4. .Use mathematical methods to solve problems, and naturally feel that if you understand it, there will be no problem. One day of ketogenic diet [such as cauliflower rice and tomato fried onion eggs, fried pork chops with garlic and fried broccoli, humans do not have any need to eat carbohydrates], one day of ketogenic drinks [such as morning lemonade plus apple cider vinegar plus baking soda plus Erythritol plus mint .In fact, this day is fasting] Since I started the ketogenic diet, I no longer have irritability, headaches and fatigue. There may also be mistakes in what I said, I always have problems...
Well, I'm a little too dazzled by this approach. In fact, the analytical efficiency is part of the molecular target, and usually only the molecular target is enough. Summary: It is easy to do it directly, but it is difficult to cut it into small goals. Analyze whether a single goal is effective, and if it is still difficult, cut the goal smaller
I've been working on a project for a very long time now and I'm not able to complete it because of procrastination. This was a great video, specially the 'analyzing why we're procrastinating' part. makes a lot of sense!! hope I can overcome procrastination and get all the things done soon.
I want to beat procrastination so I will never be in this constant slow/down state and prevent myself my resorting to worse and worse things to avoid that feeling, I want to tackle it head on, I hope everyone here also overcomes their procrastination aswell, thanks for the video aswell Cajun Koi really helped me alot.
I would like to get my shit together and take control of my life. Utilizing my potential to the fullest to see what height I can possibly reach. I will feel joy in doing that. Taking action rn and conquering the moment in a continuous fashion till I get so used to getting things done, finally overcoming procrastination would definitely open new doors and opportunities I didn't know previously existed.
This is so helpful because this finally dived into the topic of emotions that we neglect while discussing procrastination . We need to be more open about feelings and emotions because I don't think we can actually achieve something until we find that exact spot where we flip our emotions and become helpless , where we can't control anything .The main problem is our emotions can be shaken by internal and external means and both must be dealt in a different way , I think the most difficult one's are external because at some point we can control ourselves but we can't control others and that's is deeply frustating but all i wanna ask is plz tell me how I stop procastinating internally. Thank you
Isn't the external and internal means somewhat linked to each other , as in if you're not in the right environment which is a external factor you'll procrastinate Internally The simpler solution would obviously be getting out of that environment ie eliminating the external means The internal mean , is something you can gain control over by using a a bunch of techniques like the cold plunge ,workouts, that helps you stop procrastinating and think straight But ultimately if the external factors barge in again , it's the same circle if you are not able to deal with external means That's what I feel
I'm gonna share my thoughts and feelings freely, being true to myself, and with the purpose to grow, and to possibly help somebody who might feel this goes through their heart. I want beat procrastination because it's and indicative that I'm not living the way I had proposed my self to live. It's not like I'm giving up when I procrastinate, it's more like I'm consciously and unconsciously lying to my face, instead of accepting that I need to unravel this feeling. Why is it that even though I do meditation, I still procrastinate afterwards? Why is it that even though I had told myself that I must endure a bit of pain, and then it gets easier, I still go back to procrastination? It's a stupid cycle that I enjoy on impulse level, but not on a spiritual and deep and loving level. I try so many things - I workout, I stretch, I meditate, I write my thoughts and feelings, I hang out with people (not much right now, but I do), I do pomodoro, but I still feel addicted to videos, and social media. And I think it's for many reasons, but I really think it might be because we are becoming more isolated people, and that needs to change. Because as humans, we crave relationships, but we watch all these videos and shows to get a glimpse of a social life that we can control with our devices, and not risk being rejected or feeling ashamed about ourselves in real life. But that's BS honestly, there's a lot of BS today - our minds are less clear (I know I sound like a conspiracy theorist) - but we need to stop this. Life, of course, can become very boring without media. For example, that's why people had a lot of children before - sex was the least boring thing to do. I think we at least realize this problem nowadays, and are craving more and more to be free from technology, but it's just because we have terms of comparison to what is like to have tech (not being bored, but being overwhelmed with addiction and too much information), and not having tech (a feeling of community with people and nature, and reading, and working out, i.e. doing healthy activities, which one day, might ultimately become really boring, and we are gonna want to go back to social media (TV, PC, Streaming, videos, etc.)).
I am testament to most things he mentioned here. Very well presented, it makes sense to me now. This channel is underrated. This stuff is 100 times more vital than Ali Abdaal's productivity videos.
In a nutshell Planning is the key to stop procrastinating Stick to one thing even when there's a lot to accomplish If it gets overwhelming resort to externals means of relief such as cold plunge , workout which clears your mind
Why I want to beat procrastination: I want to become a music youtuber who creates popular music covers. I want to become a great coder who's good at web development and machine learning. I need to become a writer so I can write three books that have been living in my head. The person who accomplishes all this is hard-working, charismatic, and values his work above all else. He never doubts his purpose and path, and can't see past anything else other than his goals. He has a fire burning inside him to achieve his goals and he lives his life with a sense of urgency.
Thank you so much!!!😭😭🙏🙏 I'm so glad that you finally uploaded this Just saw your- How to Escape Daydreaming video... I think this is the perfect extension of that one Honestly, even I struggled with finding the right study techniques on youtube, but the way you describe their problems and give a solution is just on point I have really improved a lot not just in my studies but overall like having a good mindset and managing emotions. I literally found you guys when I needed you the most! Thank you once again and please keep on uploading videos like this... they constantly prove to be life-changing
I'm currently a first year in an eastern european medschool, struggle with procrastination because im a perfectionist. I use procrastination to avoid the anxiety i feel about what would happen if i wasnt perfect. I want to beat procrastination so that i can confront my anxiety so that I can pass my exams in medschool
My goal is to finish my undergrad with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude, GPA 3.9+), because I want to get into a good graduate program and land some scholarships or a TA position so I don’t go into debt. I want to go to grad school because I love learning and 4 years of university just isn’t enough for me. It’s honestly my happy place and I want to make a name for myself there because I think I’d be pretty happy with a future career on my campus as a professor, student advisor, maybe even university president someday! I also have to admit that there are some external pressures, I come from a heavily academic family, mom and grandpa are teachers, cousins were National Merit honors, lot of phds, you get the idea. It’s almost shameful in my family to not have a masters degree, and even choosing humanities over STEM sometimes makes me feel lesser than I not only want to study for the A, but I want to take advantage of my internal curiosity and be the kind of person who genuinely loves studying. I used to be like that, but some shitty high school teachers ruined some of my motivation. I’m working at getting back to that childlike love of learning new things and taking on new challenges
To beat my procrastination will mean alot for me because then i can finally experience celebration again. I've been failing every single exam for the past year because of my procrastination and honestly it has really ruined me
I contemplated whether or not I should click on this video as at the moment I am procrastinating on studying. Good thing I clicked because now I got a sense of motivation. Thanks for showing up in my recommendations 😭
I always have so much procrastination when I overwork myself. If I work hard for a week then my energy is down for 2 weeks. It always makes me feel less motivated and regret but still nothing changes.
Please listen to the body and work to the best of your abilities. You'll get sicker as the days progress. Nothing is work your health and mental peace, rookie. Remember that.
Also I would add that our brain has some inertia from whatever we are feeling so if we lay down all day and then we want to do a really difficult task it's not that we lack energy and we just need to ease our mind into intermidiate levels of effort. Example: i do hiits at the end of my cardio so it never bothers me to do several of them per week.
With the advent of social media, I noticed that I was constantly distracted by unimportant things: messages, notifications It's important to learn to stay focused, it's not about productivity, it's about mental health
Beating procrastination is a skill and it takes months and years to finally know you are procrastinating and being aware what to do, being objective and in-tune in your state of mind.
Emotions serve as the steering wheel and gas tank for behavior. The only tool I’ve found effective in manipulating emotions is a commitment contract. I have a daily wake-up referee; if I don’t wake up at the intended time, it costs me hundreds of dollars. I also set small milestones and place wagers on them.
I want to stop procrastination, to be aware of every moment in life, and to be in control of myself. To be able to interact freely without negative bias in our mind, that's the first step to being truly alive!
I want to become an exelent architecht. i want to win the honorable mention of this semester. i dont want to struggle finding a job because of how good and diciplined im that it comes easy to me. but yes. we all deal with procastination. it happens to me when im feealing sad and lonely, or when im too tired. Thank you for sharing.

There is a ratio of 1% of success. Only 1% students get into a public University. Then for specific dream subject my ratio would be 0.1%. So It's so competitive. This is the reason why i Wanna beat procrastination. Thanks to your video.
No wonder rational and encouraging thoughts come to our mind when we are showering. We feel the need to make resolute settlements. It almost feels like we're being ourselves momentarily.

5-Step Full Procrastination Protocol:
Step 1) 3:39 Clear your mind (and identify the emotion -): cold shower and/or head on a bowl of ice cubes (short term); meditate and exercises (long term);
Step 2) 4:39 Deconstruct the emotion (is it lack of experience/clarity for the task?, is the task too low/high effort?, is your energy level low at the moment?): Think about your current situation to think of prompts to why did that negative emotion appear now?
Thanks a lot
The problem for me atleast is always energy lvl, i dont know how to fix that..

How I beat procrastination
1. Make a plan
2. Make a schedule
3. Wake up when the sun rises or wake up at an adequate time (6:00 am - 9:00 am is the time you should be waking up)
4. Don't skip meals
5. Drink water
6. Go outside when you feel overwhelmed and get some sunlight and fresh air
7. Don't sleep to late. (I usually try to sleep between 11:00 pm - 12:00am)
8. Exercise. Don't do to much when you exercise. Do something beginner friendly
9. Organize your life.
What can be a beginner friendly exercise... push ups?

(But I only need to pass 2 of the exams)
So, my clear and stupid goals for tomorrow are:
1) Wake up around 7am & study
2) Study: practice rewriting the things I need to memorize for the exam.
3) If I still have energy, practice outlining my essay off the top of my head.
4) Praise myself by doing something I enjoy afterwards. (*Very important step*)
7:30 is exactly what I needed to hear.

Thank you!
Same thoughts as a big procrastinator who also watch videos about this. It felt like I've found the right channel.
Why do i want to beat procrastination

I struggled a lot with my master's thesis, and it took me about three years to finish it. I didn't know how to get myself out of this situation because I hadn't faced problems like this during my time at university. So, I went to a student counseling service, and they advised me to write only one page a day. Even that was too challenging for me, so I decided to write half a page (almost) every day. Of course, my problem was much more profound, but this approach helped me to make progress. Thanks so much for all your videos!

I run into this mainly because of a new career direction, while working my other job, the traveling and studying gets to be overwhelming sometimes and i tend to breakdown often from feeling stressed out

Cajun koi is like a relatable friend who has the same study problems as you ❤.
I have a very important exam on 29th May and I am gonna do well in that! No more procrastination as I deserve much more and I wanna achieve my dreams 💪🏻✨
Bro how you did ur exam.

I want to be the best version of myself ever, it doesnt matter how many distractions and negative feelings are out there that ultimately demotivates u to not take up the opportunity, i would still go for it
Lets be the embodiment of humanity's smartest, realest and strongest ever as a community, should most definitely be a goal haha!
Procrastination Killer:
Step 1.) Analyze my goals and values
Step 2.) Discern what my negative emotions stem from and try to overcome that problem
Step 3.) Create a CLEAR schedule, thats not stressful to do daily
Step 4.) One task at a time
Step 5.) Success

I want to beat procrastination so I can become a good and helpful MedTech while also instilling good values in myself while I’m still young so when I get older I don’t have to be troubled as much. I’m a Grade 11 student and I want to become better because I realized that I lost so much time in my younger high school years having no aim
The main reason i was able to over come procostinate by creating an action pan
My action plan consist of this time: task
10 to 11 => Apply for jobs
11 to 11:30 => Break
11:30 to 12:30 => dsa
It atmost important to give break to yourself.
Follow your plan for 7 days and it will become easier going forward after 21 days it become an habit so form here it's just an curise.
To make it a habit it varies from 21 to 68 days, depends on individual.
First video to actually help. Clear and simple is the best advice for me. Fear of judgement, low energy, and not understanding negative emotions manifests overwhelm and stops me from doing what I need to do. Waking up early to focus on goals is my next plan of action!
Keep me updated on your progress!
I've already watched this video twice (the second time with pen in hand making a summary and relating back to what I need to change).
Key ways I have found help:
- start assignments early
- find a plan and stick to it
- look after yourself (exercise, eat healthy, stay hydrated, and sleep well)
- think of it as a learning curve, even if you do not get what you want, you still at least tried to and know how to do better!
I'm procrastinating my bachelor thesis right now, i absolutely needed this.
Additionally, the video emphasizes the importance of understanding the root causes of procrastination in order to change behavior and recommends techniques such as meditation and exercise to strengthen the mind and detach from emotional states.

thankyou so much for this video loved it!
You saved my day man Thank you I subscribed you.👍
I am a high-school senior trying to learn as much as I can about a very complex ChemE subject because I am going into research next year.
I will meet the best people there
1. Set a goal with an effective method
Analytical effectiveness: how to do this to be effective? For example, how to learn to be effective, the overall overlap [use textbooks, teaching materials, online courses, etc. to learn this course repeatedly from shallow to deep], partial overlap and repetition [if there is a piece of knowledge that you don’t understand, you can use this Learn the knowledge again, or even learn it again, summarize the notes of this knowledge, and teach this piece of knowledge to the air]
Formulation purpose: learn 6 hours
This forms a task or goal: learning 6h through overall overlap, partial repetition, and overlap
These are the goals for my free days: hygiene tasks [clean the house to my satisfaction], diet tasks [one day ketogenic diet, one day apple cider vinegar lemon ketogenic drink], exercise tasks [probably 300 sets of exercise], study tasks [overlap overall with partial repetition and overlap]
2. Small goals
Do easy goals directly.
Difficult things are cut into small goals, and then replace the old goals
Additional advice Learning about thinking and eating
I have some suggestions here that may help.
Thank you
Isn't the external and internal means somewhat linked to each other , as in if you're not in the right environment which is a external factor you'll procrastinate
Internally
The simpler solution would obviously be getting out of that environment ie eliminating the external means
The internal mean , is something you can gain control over by using a a bunch of techniques like the cold plunge ,workouts, that helps you stop procrastinating and think straight
But ultimately if the external factors barge in again , it's the same circle if you are not able to deal with external means
That's what I feel
This video changed my life I have transformed myself 😁
I am testament to most things he mentioned here. Very well presented, it makes sense to me now. This channel is underrated. This stuff is 100 times more vital than Ali Abdaal's productivity videos.
In a nutshell
Planning is the key to stop procrastinating
Stick to one thing even when there's a lot to accomplish
If it gets overwhelming resort to externals means of relief such as cold plunge , workout which clears your mind
Why I want to beat procrastination:
I want to become a music youtuber who creates popular music covers.
Thank you so much!!!😭😭🙏🙏 I'm so glad that you finally uploaded this
Just saw your- How to Escape Daydreaming video... I think this is the perfect extension of that one
Honestly, even I struggled with finding the right study techniques on youtube, but the way you describe their problems and give a solution is just on point
I have really improved a lot not just in my studies but overall like having a good mindset and managing emotions.
It’s almost shameful in my family to not have a masters degree, and even choosing humanities over STEM sometimes makes me feel lesser than
I not only want to study for the A, but I want to take advantage of my internal curiosity and be the kind of person who genuinely loves studying. I used to be like that, but some shitty high school teachers ruined some of my motivation. I’m working at getting back to that childlike love of learning new things and taking on new challenges
To improve with anything is to track things and see what works for you as an individual
Couldn’t agree more. Celebrate your wins and reflect on your progress
To beat my procrastination will mean alot for me because then i can finally experience celebration again. I've been failing every single exam for the past year because of my procrastination and honestly it has really ruined me
thank you for posting things like this over the last few months it has really helped me get on track with my own work. God bless you!
The Editor seriously deserves a raise!
Your videos gives me so much motivation
Also I would add that our brain has some inertia from whatever we are feeling so if we lay down all day and then we want to do a really difficult task it's not that we lack energy and we just need to ease our mind into intermidiate levels of effort.
Example: i do hiits at the end of my cardio so it never bothers me to do several of them per week.
With the advent of social media, I noticed that I was constantly distracted by unimportant things: messages, notifications
It's important to learn to stay focused, it's not about productivity, it's about mental health
Great insight! Conquer the mind conquer productivity

Summary: The emotions we feel from different levels of effort are attached to our ego.
Low energy state
In a low energy state you will procrastinate more
You will be more productive when you have the most energy
Summary: When in a low energy state you will be less likely to overcome procrastination

5 Steps to Overcome Procrastination
Step 1: Identify the emotion you are experiencing.
Step 2: Deconstruct the emotion.
Is the procrastination coming from
Lack of experience?
Level of effort?
Low energy state?
What emotional consequence is your mind trying to escape?
Step 3: Create a clear action plan, so simple you’d be stupid not to do it.
Do a brain dump of all the many tasks that are part of that big task
Action Plans:
Effort type procrastination: break apart the task into bite sized actions.
If it's still too hard make it simpler, make it stupider
Step 4: Begin your action plan
Step 5: Celebrate your ability to overcome procrastination
Savor and acknowledge your win, science says so
Footnotes:
It doesn't matter how good your action plan is if you don't use it
“Mood follows action.”
Procrastination is a BIG block between me and my progress and success. So yeah I really want to beat it. Pray that everyone will beat their own too!!
1) cold shower or dipping your face in bowl full of ice to enter of state of third person view from which you can identity your emotions.
2) Identity emotions, lack of expreince, fear of judgment, boredom.
Note procrastination in an inbuilt mechanism to minimize emotional damage
3)after emotions are identity, make a plan so clear and stupid you will be extreme degernate not to do it, this will use you ego as fuel to start planning.
But over planning could lead to procrastination so be careful.
You can use step 1 to recalibrate your brain.
4)Focus on single task, multi tasking could increase excessive conginitve load.
5) Do the action,use 2 min, 2 day, 2 year role.
Just do the thing for 2 min
If not possible use step 1
I want to beat procrastination so that I cold get better college.
I wat to get admission on (pharmacy or Genetic Engineering) Public University’s of my country. This is a competitive exam for our country.
And 1st time I have failed. Now I am a second timer.
I want to clarify what I can do to help myself, in ways that help me with procrastination. I also like the aspect of small wins that underly the task that really helps me. Thanks for explaining it so well love these vids man I respect your work as I want to grow my channel the same way !
I've been suffering with this! Planning on binging your guy's videos, lotta good tips! Struggling here 😭
Really need a dopamine fast and cures for procrastination... it's becoming really bad, to the point I avoid everything and then fail and then it makes it worse.
Learning how to focus is also one of my main problems. Glad your videos address really all these unspoken issues, real problems and how we all relate here/how you engage with us as if we are all family friends!
Beating procrastination will allow me (and others) to achieve my true potential. And i wont be basking in the glory alone, the people around me can benefit from it too
I wanna beat procrastination to develop games, learn new languages, and to be my best self the longest I can, there is so many interesting things in this world, languages, and I don't want to miss out on the opoturnity to enjoy these things, I can't imagine seing myself being old and regretting things I could have done now.
This is the best video on procrastination topic I've ever watched.
