Wait. Its name is "Malboro," and one of its attacks is "bad breath?" Hilarious.
Ha smoker jokes
yeah I just realised maybe that's a joke at Marlboro weird I never thought about it until I saw this video, and here it is someone else who also saw it haha
Seriously, is it Malboro? All those years I saw it as Marlboro lol.. Damn..
It was suppose to be Marlboro, but they changed it for copyright reasons.
--Mmm, I kissed a chick who was a Cig smoker.. pretty heavy Cig smoker.. bit like mouthing an ash tray. :\
"I don't even need to explain this one just watch, watch this"
*uses low power weapons while missing most of his shots*
Those god damn sharks with anchors. Why Bloodborne. I thought you loved me.
I loved bloodborne but had to spend so long in the fishing hamlet working out the timings with these guys! Aaargh!
To this day the only way I've found to beat them is with the Shaman Bone Blade.
D4rkcl4n I managed to do it using just the hunter's bone for the quickstep and a level 10 beast hunter saif but took soooo long! When I tried to use the shaman bone blade I couldn't find a time to strike.
I summoned help and got a Japanese player.
Needless to say he smashed both those guys! lol
Ryan David as my name suggests I like doing things the hard way! Platinum offline with no summons, but I found the first shark giant in the well alone harder than most bosses and spent most of my time running away and climbing the ladder to shake him off! Chipping away slowly at his health. I hate my way sometimes!
"Regenerators"
Looks like someone didn't find the Infrared Scope ;P
That's optional tho
His life was a lie xD
Behold the great Malboro, the reason I always get a hold of a ribbon as soon as possible.
This video is summed up by the word "miniboss" quite nicely.
Boss in mooks clothing is the common trope name
"Just look how much damage they can take." Misses every shot.
Steven T To be fair he was hitting like 1/5 to 1/8 of the shots. Hahaha I thought the same thing lol.
Welcome to Access when Rob's playing.
The concept of a boss battle is a bit of a formality. I like that games can just have difficult encounters.
Yeah makes the game more interesting
Those cursed pirate monster things didn't kill me in Uncharted. The stupid holes in the ground did. Multiple times.
Har hary
lol
I never thought of them as pirates, I just thought of them as Ghouls. Makes sense to me!
They are not pirates. They are nazis. Mostly.
They were... The Spaniards... the inbred descendents of Spanish colonists.
The Bloody Crow of Cainhurst from Bloodborne. The final hostile NPC from Eileen's quest who has a pistol that can 2 or 3 shot you and he is MORE than happy to spam it with his UNLIMITED quicksilver bullets.
I always just poison him and run away, aswell as hoping he two hands his katana so that he slowly dies... Please forgive me.
Sure, there's ways to cheese him but seriously, fighting him straight up is ridiculous.
And if he gunparries you, it's over...
those whales at the fishing hamlet
manages to do it at level 4 (waste of skin).....after about two mind rending bloody one shot hours
were gonna have to start a final fantasy board aren't we
You missed 80% of the shots in that Far cry clip
I think he got scared.
@@edwinsamuel5065 How could anyone get scared by that?
90%
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take
@@pelikanflyeralseinehandels8952 Could put that on a t-shirt under the heading "spray and pray" :D
The Honey Badger one is just realistic. You could probably drop a cruise missile on one of those little monsters and it'd still be kicking.
We need... GODZILLA!
+Crimson Keaton *we need a NOKIA
We need Godzilla and a Nokia....NOKZILLIA!
Rapt0r K1ng 👏🏽
Rapt0r K1ng no lol
Idea for Friday feature: 7 Video game items that we always seem to run out of!
I remember running out of ammo in Resident Evil: Code Veronica right before that last boss, and I couldn't finish the game, so I had to start from the beginning...
All the spots are Blood Vials
Jacob U ammo or stimpacks in fallout
Jacob U throwing knives in Assassin's creed.
Jacob U mana in dishonered
I was so happy when a Malboro attacked me and then Odin came to my rescue and split the damn thing in 2, looted the 6 Malboro tentacles I needed for Doomtrain and 2 more for Quistis' whip:)
That Honey Badger entry is very realistic in terms of how resistant to damage it is.
Since it primarily goes straight into bee's nests to get the honeycombs, it's skin has developed to the point that if you want to seriously damage a Honey Badger, go for the eyes or the nose.
Hunter in the cathedral in Bloodborne (end of Eileen's quest line)
I beat him in 7-8 tries, I beat the shark giants in an infinite amount of tries shoved into an hour of cussing and crying and mashing all the buttons on the controller and crying
Yeah, i had to cheese him by leaving the agro zone then getting a sneaky thrust power attack, his dmg output is just ridiculous
+Jack H the Shaman Bone Blade is probably the only reason I beat them. That DLC was just brimmed with impossible things, like Laurence and the Orphan and those void giants and these shark giants
Cainhurst Crow would be my guess too.
Luckily the shark giants can be gunparried, which makes them alot easier
The little pigs in Majula in DS2 are stronger than Raime
More terrifying than that hole in the Old Iron king's boss room.
Mimmokpalle You lie!
It's more dangerous when Elana summons the little pigs than when she summons Velstadt tbh
Fun fact! Honey badgers are know to castrate bigger animals... like lions and buffaloes
budoka92 why?
sajad adel because they can thats why :D
sajad adel Because, honey badger don't care! Ewww!
@@raphaeltrumpetsound835 a honey badger killed my whole colony in a game called gnomoria, took me a week to go back to the game with the sole mission to kill it and make Armour out of it.
Kudos, Rob. I've only seen a couple of your videos, but your delivery, writing and the overall quality of these videos talked me into subscribing.
Whenever I watch Rob's Friday feature I know it's officially the weekend 🎉👯
That's how I feel too! Yay!
yeah
Started my Saturday morning with this! :)
+Sam Victor omg same
+Sam Victor I Always Do
Let's be honest here am I the only one who subscribed this channel because of Rob.
Rob makes it great! He's got some serious writing, comedic timing and delivery skills!
take a look at the views for every single other video than the friday features on this channel and realise you're not alone
mainly rob and holly tbh
I love'em all ^^
Me too
Or as we Tropers would call it, "7 Bosses In Mook Clothing".
4:42 there's a reason they gave you an RPG and explosives for that mission.
still though honey badgers honestly take more bullets to kill then bears tigers and even rhinos in that game
Yep F*** Malboro's specifically the FFX ones in Omega's Ruins, guys were every 50 steps I swear to god.
Perhaps the common cold should be a boss as well, Rob?
+teppolundgren Beat it though, didn't I -Rob
cool you reply and the videos only up an hour. good job rob
Lol
Damn I was just about to comment this.
Ivin3690
You mean you actually think like me?
My sympathies...
FFX Malboro tip: get Tidus or Auron in main party with First Strike equipped weapon, Provoke it and it will not do Bad Breath.
Thanks for the tips man I finished ff10 didn't know about this
2:19 - Hilarious intentional reaction!!! Reminded me of the Doc Brown's reaction to the model car falling off the table and catching the lab on fire!!!
Nice to see dark chronicle getting some love, still hoping for a sequel.
its gotten some love in previous features
I haven't gotten to finishing Dark Chronicle yet, I really should start playing it again.
i still haven't gotten passed the sewer level at the beginning of the game :(
I rented from Blockbusters, about 8 years ago and I still haven't completed it. Mainly because I don't have a working PS2 anymore but also I think I was slightly disappointed by it. I loved Dark Cloud 1 and I felt it wasn't quite the same.
*****
actually i never beat dark cloud 1 either, and it stopped working before i started applying strategy and actual THOUGHT to the games i played....which means i never made it passed the first dungeon of dark cloud 1. kind of a reoccurring theme when it comes to me and older games like maximo and dark cloud.
hey Rob here's a topic for next week: 7 puns In trophy s
trophy names
cute idea. my favorite pun in a PSN trophy name is from E.D.F. 4.1. If you kill enough alien "motherships" and you get a trophy called "Just wait till your fathership gets home".
how about fangs for playing from infamous festufal of blood
Any normal enemies in Nioh, Bloodborne & Dark Souls are bosses to me.
*insert obligatory "git gud" joke here*
ESPECIALLY those dang Raven Tengus!!
but and nioh are not that hard though unlike darksouls and blood borne
@@chinhobae3977 Nioh is a lot harder.
Calbenmike nioh has many unique abilities which makes it easier than others i played this game ya know
I appreciate you bringing up dark cloud 2. That was one of my favorite games on the ps2 and not nearly enough people know about it or talk about it.
I love how this video randomly was featured as a recommended video to me, right after I booted up Dark Cloud 2 on my PS4 for the first time in like 2 years lol
ReikokuXTaifuu dark cloud 2 is on the ps4?? Do you know if it’s on Xbox too?
Kyle McCollum Sadly no.
Dark Cloud 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, now I want to replay it again.
I got an itching for Spheda!
I just recently got Dark cloud 2 on my ps4. this game is awesome. I played DarkCloud on my ps2. I agree, it's pretty cool that Dark Cloud 2 was included on this list.
First one is a great game as well.
That one annoying enemy with the mask that you fight in DMC Devil May Cry.
charge the fists and is gg, never had a problem with them doing that
bruh, have you even played devil may cry? those awful giant scythe wielding things in devil may cry 3 are just.......
+AlmightyStarfire I completely agree. A blitz is by far the most annoying enemy in dmc history especially when you have to dodge their attacks when their lightning turns red or else they grab you and blow themselves up to try and take you with them. And you have to fight them every time they show up.
+AlmightyStarfire Yep, they single handedly kept me from getting to/past floor 40 as Dante. Even spamming shotgun on them while using Trickster to get close, it still takes forever. And don't get me started on when they get grouped with Frosts.
Malboro that has bad breath: It sounds like a cigarette to me!
now you're getting the joke
got im, please tell me I got im, dude you're hilarious, that bit afterwards was great, love your Friday features
Tonberrys from final fantasy
They are easy, dont attack wait for it to move 4 times then all out attack
Did you forget about their Karma attack? Where they deal back all pooled damage to a character easily letting them one-shot your party members one by one?
@@wrestlecrazygamer7419 that doesn't happen when they have gotten closer in 4 turns. it will only use melee attacks and doesn't use karma anymore
@@horizonbumpy2828 does the king tonberry do the same after you beat the little ones constantly in ff8?
@@Bustuhh King Tonberry doesnt move forward. He just attacks. He will still use Everyone's Grudge though. If i remember correctly the formula for that attack is that it deals 20 damage to the target times the number of killing blows that character has scored throughout the entirety of the game.
And I love the Lion Heart move and got it early. So Everyone's Grudge instantly kills Squall while only dealing 300 damage to my supporting members lol
Not to be rude cuz i love this channel, but maybe the Honey Badgers dont die because u missed 99% of the shots. LOVE the channel, makes me jealous because i am a PC user and this is a PS channel!
Honey badgers still took too long to kill. I'd say 8-10 bullets to kill one.
+XxWhIpLaSh18xX But they are bulletproof irl
+Divyansh Sehgal 2-3 shots of a RPG, Bazooka, whatever you wanna call it*
To be fair they are small and fast as hell
I saw that to but after the remote explosive, I went "Ah, there we go ...yup following the honey badger meme. Honey badger don't care".
Lynels in the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
All you have to do is jump.
Golden Lynel in the first 5 minutes of the Great Plateau, the best weapon you have is a boko club. "just jump" 4Head
Git gud XD
Nah, they get easier when you get used to them. You know what does not? FLYING GUARDIANS.
Rob's reaction to the regenerator growing its arms back is the best thing I've seen for a while
in RE4 there's actually a scope in the freezer, where the regenerators are that helps you fight them by being able to see the parasites in their body, making them really easy to fight.
The Grim Reaper in Persona. Stay too long in a dungeon/level and he'll hunt you down and kill you. It's (slightly) easier on NG+ but on your first time through it's guarenteed to scare when you hear those chains.
I didn't even encounter him until ng+ so...
XFallout Builds You're lucky, many hours (especially on harder modes) get ruined by that guy. Still a really nice challenge for the second time through.
+Madness1 That's why we grind and fuse my friend. In persona 4 on my first playthrough I was able to get Yoshitsune( no fusion walkthroughs I swear) and he made reaper allot easier.
Mujtaba Ellari Yeah that sounds about right, if you plan and are geared out you can beat him around the Lvl 60 mark. I can't imagine actually winning before then though as even at level 60 it's tough even on the easier difficulties.
Agreed, even on my lvl(85 i think) his attacks stil hit hard. To be fair i invested all my money in personas instead of the best gear.
Loved the "Honey badger don't care" reference, haha
Haha I found your channel about a year ago and love it (especially since final fantasy is so prevalent). Great job guys
2:56
I laughed way too hard at this.
I would be surprised if someone hasn't suggested it before or if there isn't a video already, but here's an idea for a topic.
I should point out that I do like Dave, but I'm not sure he'll like me after this suggestion:
Top Metal Gear References in Non-Metal Gear Games.
Every enemy in dark souls
Really? Every enemy? Even the hollows in the undead asylum that take like one hit to kill? IDK about that one
Titanite Demons, Outrider Knights, Hydras, etc.
your username and statement creates a state of cognitive dissonance
the beast in irithril bridge ;v
DS3 outrider knight below the tower in Undead Settlement is what I think about when I picture a non-boss worse than a boss, until you realise you can trick it into jumping in a bottomless pit.
I love how you shift your frustration into funny served in sarcasim 😂
The Dead Space regenerative neromorphs.
Jacob Toweson finally someone !!
Love dead space!
same 😂
And in Dead Space 2, they are actually bosses.
A friday feature without a Metal Gear entry???!!! I don't even... Why?? How?? What does it mean??
I am so scared right now.
Huh? he didn't say Metal Gear Solid in this video.......
Great to see the giant depraved getting the no. 1 spot! So few have had to deal with those monsters they can't appreciate it's not just the fact they one-shot you, or the fact there are multiple... it's the fact you're in a super dark swamp area with tiny bits you can actually fight them on!!
You should've mentioned the island you can go to with 3 of them on and NO islands around it. That there has got to be the toughest fight in any game that isn't classified as a mini-boss fight.
Honorable mention for a soulsborn enemy. "Spear Adept" from Senpou Temple in Sekiro. That's the only enemy in the game i have ever failed to kill in an actual fight. They are harder than most mini bosses and bosses.
Wintern lanterns from bloodborne. I hate those things.
Hear hear, hate those things
Shark Giants, fat rollers in chalice dungeons and the dozens of Blood lickers are also a pest
It's bad enough when the enemies are fast, do tonnes of damage or appear in awkward places. But the winter lanterns, nah, just looking at them can kill you.
Laurence Barnes
Luckily they can be parried into oblivion, so that you can kill them in one hit, unfortunately if the parrying fails it often results in instant death due to frenzy
all these and no one mentions those blood/demon spiders that chase you throughout the whole chalice dungeon? worse if there are 2 bell b1tches and they're far away from each other
Mudcrabs from skyrim, they’re the most op enemy that has ever existed!
As always you made my boring work live again. The best ever!
Since you have a box of the witcher in the back, you reminded me of those nice wolves on deathmarch with enemy upscaling turned on.
I love how you won't forget FFVIII. Thanks guys! From a fan.
the hairy lizard on ithryl bridge?
DS3
what about the basement near anor londo, where there a two at once
+Matej Vesel Yes
they're cunning and fast e.e
They are easy. What about this Brain Frenzy Guy from Bloodbourne.
Your scare from the resident evil enemy made me subscribe, like, and in love with this show
Was not expecting you to pull out Dark Cloud 2, huge fan of that game.
Those god awful mutant wasps from Fallout NV
Cazador's aren't really that bad
Agreed. I always ran from those things, it wasn't worth getting poisoned over and over while trying to kill them.
Pain in the arse on lowlevels but they are easy about Level 20+
Shoot the wings...and...they are not as threatening
when i see a malboro i immediately run, ain't about tempt fate
the reaction at 2:18 is priceless. Because it's exactly how I reacted towards that first regenerator lol
HA ! , I can relate to all of those.
I'm glad it was Rob presenting, otherwise I wouldn't even have bothered watching.
does the otter have a PSN? lol 😂
+A7X_Girl_foREVer ! OTTER. I never offended so much I am. Badger. BADGER I AM -Delsin
+PlayStation Access Rob said shut up Delsin you are nothing
+PlayStation Access lol. Poor delsin
+PlayStation Access lol. Poor delsin
Hey, I like your username, mi psn id is a7xfan99
Really? A badger being upset over a guy killing honey badgers?!? They are not even the same type of badger....
+Adam Ewan Keachie He's not really a badger, he's a puppet -Rob
+PlayStation Access but we love him just the same
"ITS AAHH PUPPET"
YOU... ARE... A... TOY! A CHILD'S PLAYTHING!
So, is it irony or sarcasm? Or a bit of both?
Rob reactions to the regenerators from re4 was just like mine! Hahahaha
Nice picks from Bloodborne and Demon's Souls.^^ The two sharkmen in that well from Bloodborne were the first that came to my mind when I read the title.
Darknuts in many Zelda games, especially Twilight Princess.
They hit hard can take a lot of damage and often there are several at once.
Really cool enemy but easy as piss
Fish giants. First time through, I just said "Loot not worth," so frustrated that I couldn't form a proper sentence. Little did I know that it was the Rakuyo, that thing that I should've gotten for beating Lady Maria.
you have seriously good comedic timing
Omg I love the little badger puppet so much
It is now 2018 and we have thunderjaws rock breakers and behemoths in horizon zero dawn, our good old explorers in god of war which should at least be mini bosses
Come on rob, Ozma is wayyyy harder than malboros :)
But no where near as IRRITATING -Rob
***** not when he starts you off with Meteor! haha
Ozma is a boss though. Malboros are normal enemies that spawn at random. Could you imagine if Ozma was a random spawn enemy.
***** i'd rather not ;-;
me either...good lord...
Hayokonton from Wild Arms. They are similar to the guy on this list with bad breath attack but instead of just hitting you with 4 or 5 or even 7 status alignments at once, these guys can hit you with every one in the book at once, nearly 10. Everything from sleep, paralysis, and silence all they way down to poison and toxic at the same time, nothing like having multiple HP sapping one's to go with heartbroken (prevents ability to heal one's own HP with items or magic).
Oh, and to make it better, you have to fight 2 at once and they have as much HP as even some optional bosses.
Plus side though, they give massive exp points (even at end game which is still more than almost every optional boss) and if your good enough to clear the arena, you can equip a Full Libra to protect you from all status alignments. However, failure to come prepared can lead to your death, even if your strong enough to beat every single boss, including optional one's, with ease just because these guys can and will hit you with every status effect in game. Plus they have a move that will always take half your remaining HP and another one that just hits really hard, and yet one more that can hit fairly hard plus give more, but limited, status effects.
Bleeping regenerators! The first time i encountered one was in the prison block. My brother had played ahead without me, and i loaded up his save to see where he was. I found myself in a creepy, dark prison, with the sound of rasping breathing playing. I carefully checked the front of the room (finding the further unnerving wiggle sack in the process), then proceeded down the hall only to find this unkillable monstrosity shambling towards me. i think i unloaded all of my shotgun ammo into it without killing it, and i jumped out of my skin when its legless body leaped at me and started to chow down. I now take perverse pleasure in blowing up that nightmare with the post game mega weapons.
When you're in Auram Vale and your party gets hit with the bad breath
what about the Anor Londo archers? 😧
Ash the Ghoul I remember the very first time I killed one of the archers I let out a triumphant war cry as I assumed they were perma death mobs like the black knights. Oh how wrong I was
Dude...Parry them. Easiest way I've found
That was unnecessary
Ari Jappendi Shut up, casul
If you are ever gonna make a part 2 don't forget to include the elite runners in the division. In particular the ones from the mission Hudson refugee camp at the end
Excellent video Rob. But you forgot to mention - EVERYTHING IN ANY SOULS GAME. I am scared sh*tless when i play them.
Laughs in the framerate of blighttown
*screaming Ps3 noises*
The guardian stalkers and lynels from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There is a reason some people accidentally call the lynels bosses.
A Link Between Games "playstation" access
Trivikram Lokesh
You realise they often talk about other console exclusives too right? Like Halo for example. They don't JUST talk about playstation games.
Lynels and Guardians are a pain in the arse but nearly not hard enough to be considered a Boss. Imo
I started watching this channel few days ago mmm well nice videos and you have lovely voice
Oh sweet Heavenly Father in Heaven above the Malboros just brought back memories of early FFXIV's Malboros Swamp near that Mansion dungeon. There were so many of them, SO MANY, and it was like the 2nd dungeon of the game!
The Cathedral Knights with the Ultra Greatswords have got to be the worst. They have so many attacks of various speed, hit stupidly hard, can tank a dumb amount of hits, and will never let you backstab them.... EVER!
Well having infinite stamina seems to be on of their special skills just like their special 360° attacks, wonderful design...
they drop badass armor
Morvicks Indeed they do.
JasonDoe1000 Not as bad as the Drakekeepers with the mace. I forgot all about their broken asses.
Sir Weenielick
Please don't remind me on these ones, they are simply broken, but luckily there are only two of the mace version and you can damage or kill them from a distance
Damn those regenerators. Just them breathing already makes my skin crawl
Nice, love seeing Demon's Souls getting some love. Original is still the best to me.
And Dark Cloud 2 is amazing, still one of my favorite games of all time.
That malboro intro was the best lmfao
Having just beaten my first run through of Bloodborne I have trust issues after facing those sharks
Yeah they're tough, but here's a tip: use that poisoned knifes on them
The Blitz enemies in DMC 4 they take forever to kill are impervious to melee until you pump them full of a truckload of bullets on top of the fact that the teleport around constantly only being vulnerable right before they attack and just when you think you've got them they enter a pinch mode that makes them faster more damaging and gives them a suicide attack that takes almost a full bar of health if you don't DT out of it, oh and they explode then they finally die which can hurt you too
The mastiffs from Metal Gear Rising were pretty tough. But then again I didn't learn how to parry until the Jetstream Sam boss fight
I didnt really find re4 scary but when i got to the area with regenerators ” what is this feeling? Am i...a little scared?”
"Honey badgers Far Cry 4"😂
I joined this channel thx to Rob, he makes this worth it :)
mimic Marcus from Resident evil 0, tough to kill, quick to catch you, and when you kill it explodes to damage, hard mode a nightmare, great video
What Honey Badgers from Farcry 4 aren't a boss???
Well I'm just a baby that has to cry in a pillow after I fight them...
Honey Badger should have been number 1...
the disgusting aligator dog things from dark souls 3
Good Networking they're called the sullyvahn beasts
Good Networking yeah those were annoying, patturns were really simple tho, just gotta be patient, role to your left until it attacks, get a couple hits in, repeat
Just run
I fought them yesterday
Just use hollow warden twinblades with 30 luck and carthud rouge. They bleed in one l1 hit which ussualy kills them in about 3 - 4 hits.
Champion Gundyr but I'm not a luck build but thanks anyways
On the topic of PlayStation games, I had this guide for Star Ocean 3 that mistakenly lists the Mudman as a non-boss and the tree enemies in Duggus Forest as bosses
I got the BioShock Collection disc so I played all Bioshocks on the highest difficulty and like you said the Big Daddies were fine because you could plan out how you’re gonna take it down but with the Handymen, you just gotta have shock jockey an RPG and good aim.
The Shark giants in Bloodborne are the worst! Especially when you have to fight two of them in the well...
I loved when I almost beat one and then it walked away and came back with a buddy. Then I had to complete some dungeons to unlock the shaman bone blades as a buyanle item to stand a chance
