    Thank you for the walkthrough! One day I’ll make it up there!! My fear is that once i make the journey, everything will be closed off!!

      Thanks Amy, I feel ya. It’s tough for Mississippians to get up that far north.

      @@JRO_Lights my husband is a truck driver, so we've been able to travel the northeast coast, and beyond!! It's pretty!! Just waiting and saving money 💰 to make a trip to Bradford! It's on my bucket list!!!

    I appreciate the walkthrough of the museum. I'm not likely to be there anyTime soon, certainly not before the new one opens, so I'm happy to at least see the old before it's gone. By the way, what's the name of the main facebook Zippo group? I saw several there, but been too busy to figure out which is the best to jump on. Not that I spend a lot of hours on that platform anyway.

      Thanks for watching!
      The main group is Zippo Addicts, there’s another one called “The lighters keepers- a zippo collecting group.”
      I strongly recommend joining at least one if not both of those groups.

    My mother worked at Zippo in the original factory which was next to the Tuna Creek. Unfortunately, Zippo no longer has records of their early employees.

    My Zippo lighter was stolen from me.. it was a black lighter with a gold dragon.. wrapped all the way around the lighter.. and the head of the Dragon was sitting on top of the lighter.. I have never seen another one like it since.. the dragon looked like it was 3D it was not carved into lighter..

    I also was born in Bradford Pennsylvania so I know where the factory is😮

    My grandmother hand painted those lighters for 30 years,went to work with her a dark room with overhead work lights and a bunch of women on backless stools painting with tiny brushes.A regular slave factory that made the owners indolent and worthless.

    • @H2x2x2
      @H2x2x2 8 місяців тому

      Hand painted?! Hah, bet they wish for that now.. today I bet they just pull press levers all day, zero creative input. I do love Zippos though, they're like the Henry Ford mentality. You serious about your grandma doing that though bro? If so, respect. If not, bless her anyways - grandparents are awesome (though I lost mine when I was a kid). Take care 👍🙏

      @@60gator I hope when our time is up, we get to meet our loved ones and ancestors. They sure knew the real stuff back then, and sadly a lot of hardships. Though through all that sometimes I think they were happier than us. Thank you for sharing her story. Your grandma was an incredible lady, cherish the memories always . 🫂
