This zippo lighter is not the original release of 1993, if you look at the shape of the bottom of this lighter it is flat and round at each corner, the original zippo lighter released in 1993 is sunken at the bottom of the zippo lighter and round at each corner, if you want to know, every few years zippo will change the design and every feature of the zippo lighter and will be stamped with the year it was released, zippo fans will always know if it is original or fake
Are you kidding me ? Did some poor guy just lose it drunk on a beach one night and years later someone found it with a metal detector ? How could it get that rusty holy ! You brought it back to its self again and made it happy !
I found a Zippo lighter that was underground for 48 years that belonged to a Vietnam vet and it never looked that bad and I found many more that have never looked that bad
I’m amused by the comments asking about how you made it look like it started off in such bad shape. People think all these guys restoring lighters are just making stuff up. Lot of stuff like this gets found by people metal detecting. Not sure why it’s so hard for people to believe that a lighter can get dropped and be found years later.
Yeah I remember as a kid I was hired to help someone with yard work and we was tilling up a garden and I found a zippo that was atleast 12 under the ground
What's that green block you used to remove the plating? My own Zippo isn't rusty/covered in gunk like this but I've got missing parts in the chrome finish and would like to strip it off. I might/might not add a new finish (I like the unfinished look) but I'm curious what that was!
IKR! I'd definitely call bullshit if...ya know...he didn't record the whole process. But I guess there's always the chance of the old bait n switch thing...but...I don't think so. Its pretty damn impressive that's for sure

Probably got dropped outside by someone and never found until years later. Plenty of time for the elements to cause rust build up and structural damage.

This has got to be the best zippo lighter restoration I’ve ever seen. Beautiful work!
Nice to hear that, thank you 👍
Exquisite craftsmanship!
Made in May, 1993. Almost 30 years later and still sparks. Here’s to another 30.

E IX is May 1993. That is the meaning of bottom stamp.
Far out that was flippen amazing to watch, like restoration artistry at its finest😮..man Thankyou for sharing that amazing process with us 💪
Thank you, with pleasure

Probably the same poor guy that is restoring it. Lost it a few weeks back in salty water and then added some mud for the artistic effect.
Wow amazing transformation, i would keep the raw brass finish though . It's made in 1993
Nice job
Thank you!

Didn’t know that hole was for a spare flint, thanks
Those who use the lighter a lot need a spare flint 😃
Good job!
Thank you! 😀
Epic work on the lighter! Really nice result.
Ooo Jernej, thanks! :)

I totally agree with you :)

i agree too
I went on a fishing trip and found one on a beach
Maybe because you can't do miracles out of a fake rusted lighter. How would the lettering be perfectly intact underneath, no way.
Can you show the video of how you made the new lighter dirty. That would be more interesting and honest.
Do it agaib and again. I'll watch as always
Thank you! :)
Very nice video! I lovw the quality and commentary! You are very underrated. You just gained a new subscription 😃
Thank you very much👍
Great work 👍

I'm surprised all that rust didn't do any damage past the surface layer!!

would like to keep it with tis original color brass
If the brass doesn`t have a protective layer, it is sensitive and starts to darken.
Is that what that hole is for in the bottom felt, to put a spare flint?
Wow
Thanks! :)
Wow no comment!
Thanks!

I want to buy a beat up rusty lighter too to restore. Anyone know where or who to buy from?
Go to Walmart buy a zippo lighter for $10 and then bury it in the backyard for as long as desired

What the heck happened to that lighter that got to that bad of condition?
Probably got dropped outside by someone and never found until years later. Plenty of time for the elements to cause rust build up and structural damage.
😍✌👏👍🍾🙏
I would love to buy this lighter from you. Is it for sale?
I'm glad you're interested in a unique Zippo lighter 😃👍Write to my e-mail to make an agreement.

I really need to know where the hell trashed resto pieces like these come from. Was this buried in a grave of saline and moss bog?
My friend found it with a metal detector. I don't know where exactly he found it.
Beautiful work! May i know what size of the rivet you used on the flint wheel and cam?
Thanks! :)
On flint wheel 2mm and cam 1,8mm
Wow! This is so fake - you can tell by the cotton swab condition, its bright white on the inside

No, it`s 1993 :)
Why not just wash off the mud and paint you put on it?
How is it a 1997 no time to die if no time to die came out in 2022?🤣🤣🤣
Fake.
No, it`s original Zippo 1993 :)

The lighter was made in 1993
Correctly :)
Not sound cling zippo
Very nice!.... Other than the fact brass doesn't rust... 100% faked.
Brass is the core metal. The plating absolutely will rust.
You could’ve just sent it back and they’d’ve fixed it for you, there’s a lifetime warranty for a reason x3
The year is stamped on the bottom could be 1906
amazing work kelp it up love watching your videos
Really? 😮
Thank you so much :) Soon I publish new restoration project 👍
LOL That would be quite a feat considering Zippo didn't even exist until 27 years later.
@@MrMikesMondoVideo haha
Das zippo ist von 1993.
Genau 👍
Date code : E= May, IX=1993
It's true 👍
How long did you leave the zippo in your wet backgarden to let it rust so beautyfully?
I don't know, how long he was forgot.
My friend from Norway send to me to restore this 1993s lighter 🔥
О зипо клике мечтать не вредно

It is necessary to restore gently and slowly :)
