10:45 How do you cook an egg to maximize nutrition?
11:34 Check out my video on the cholesterol in eggs!
Today, I'm going to tell you why I eat four eggs a day and why you should do this too.
The nutrition of an egg is determined by how the chicken is raised and by what it's fed. I recommend getting organic pasture-raised eggs. Getting your eggs from a farmer's market is a great idea or even raising your own chickens for eggs.
It's important to note that I do not eat eggs for breakfast. I eat them for a late lunch because I fast breakfast. It's also important to consume the whole egg vs. only egg whites.
Heating an egg can destroy some of the carotenoids. To maximize the nutrition of the eggs, it's great to have them poached or over-easy. If you like them scrambled, it's best to crack them inside of the pan and allow the whites to turn white before scrambling them.
If you're a small person, you may want to consume one or two eggs a day. If you're a larger person, you may want to consume three or four.
    Health benefits of eggs:
    • Eggs are a great source of protein
    • Eggs contain choline
    • Eggs contain lecithin
    • Eggs have vitamin K2, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin A
    • Eggs are rich in omega-3 fatty acids
    • Eggs are loaded with B vitamins
    • Eggs have minerals and trace minerals
    • Eggs contain carotenoids

terrible advice to encourage people to eat that many eggs daily, it is loaded in cholesterol - a NORMAL healthy liver SHOULD in theory downregulate and upregulate cholesterol - unfortunately some people do not properly regulate cholesterol, in the case you cannot downregulate cholesterol production, you must limit your consumption of dietary cholesterol - so the whole eat that many eggs daily is not for everyone..............because it is not safe for everyone.

Dr. Berg, I went on your fasting diet and ate a lot of things you suggested. I want to thank you because no other Doctor gave me the advice that you have. I figured out I was insulin resistant from watching all your Diabetic Vids. I am type II diabetic, WAS overweight. I went from 267 down to 212 and still losing. I take a small shot of good virgin olive oil, coffee in the morning and around 12-1 I have eggs for lunch with an english muffin. Eat a sensible dinner at 6 and don't eat till the next day, sometimes I cheat and have a little ice cream. lol. My A1C is 5.6 and my sugar in the morning ranges from 85 to 95. I went from a 40 waist down to almost a 34. All i had to do was follow your direction, in which I did and have not felt as good as I do now!! So, THANK YOU my friend...

Thanks for this video! I watched this in late April and began eating 4 eggs with some meat & spinach for breakfast everyday, also watched a lot of your other videos and began working towards a keto lifestyle and intermittent fasting. In four months I've lost 50 lbs, my A1C went from 11 to 6.6, I'm taking 50mcg less levothyroxine, dropped 1 diabetes & 1 hbp med. Up til April I hadn't eaten eggs in 3 years, they always made me sick. Found out it was the combo of eggs with carbs that was making me sick. Again, thanks so much.

2 to 3 Eggs & avocados with chicken sausage were all I ate every morning for over 2 years, following a keto based regimen in an attempt to get my A1c out of pre-diabetic range. But my numbers and my body felt like it plateaued. Weight was stable but more concerning was that I was experiencing more constipation. In an effort to change it up, I'm now doing vegan 3 to 4 days a week (more fruit, legumes, veggies) and it's only been a month but it's been a game changer. Weight is down, body fat is almost gone. I haven't been this lean since high school. Most importantly my sugars are down, less peaks and troughs, no lethargy after bad carbs and no more constipation. This won't work for everyone but worth trying to change it up especially if you're dealing with pre or diabetes type 2.

Dr. Sten Ekberg also has good information, and I think Dr. Berg has mentioned him once or twice. Dr. Berg is still the better researcher, in my opinion, and his videos are much easier to 'digest,' if you will, because they're so much shorter and more frequent. Dr. Ekberg makes videos that are 30+ minutes, and I don't have the necessary attention span, unfortunately. He does offer very, very good information, though, very much in line with Dr. Berg's. He speaks rather slowly, both to let information sink in, and because he's Swedish, so English isn't his first language, and by his own admission, he has to really think of the words he wants to use.
Just wanted to make you aware that there is at least one other good, conscientious physiologist out there who is also working hard to inform people of the dangers of foul food practices, wrong and harmful foods and products, and who does his own research, just like Dr. Berg does.

Thank you! This confirms further to me that eggs are an incredible superfood. When I got diagnosed with T2 diabetes about 18 months ago I immediately adjusted my diet. I started eating eggs every morning. My doctors (primary and endocrinologist) said go easy on eggs, no more than 5 per week. I went from 2 a day to 3 and then 4 and I still do 4 a day and they are JUMBO eggs. I also usually have bacon with it (2-3 strips). When I went back after 3 months of 3-4 eggs per day (and I have been on a statin) my cholesterol, triglycerides had dropped from very high to mid-normal range. Next 3 months later they dropped to low normal. That's after INCREASING my eggs intake. I do 4 a day still, missing a day here or there but almost every day. And bonus - they are DELICIOUS. I thought I'd get sick of eggs but I haven't. And my health has improved, including my diabetic retinopathy (because I understand the lutein in eggs helps eyes so I credit the eggs with that). Thanks for spreading the word. Oh, and my doctors? when I told them I was having 4 eggs per day they both then said (independently of each other, not knowing what the other said) - "keep eating the eggs". Exactly that, they said!!!! They know it is a superfood but I think they're guided to be overly cautious and are a little afraid to tell people to eat them. Thank God for doctors like you who spread the truth about this superfood!!! I am thoroughly convinced - it's been 18 months and my health has only gotten better! By the way they removed me from taking insulin a year ago and just reduced my metformin by half 3 months ago!

    • @johnny07652
      @johnny07652 2 роки тому +4

@Jul I think, in fairness to the doctors, they tell people how to do natural things to control their diabetes but then most diabetics don't do it at all. Then the doctors become jaded and quickly move them onto medication and/or insulin. Everyone, just about, that I have met and that I know who is diabetic does NOT carefully watch their diet even though they know they're supposed to. One of them even says "Well I'm on metformin anyway so I might as well just let that do its work!!!" So it's not really the doctors, in my opinion. My doctor makes nothing from me taking metformin or insulin. My doctor actively tries to get me off of both of those. But my doctors also deal with dummies like my friends who don't want to change their diets. Here you have a video of a doctor telling people to eat eggs. Most will NOT listen. If they were his patients he'd have no choice but to put them on medication if they don't listen to his instructions on how to NATUALLY manage their diabetes.
