What I love is the form factor. I’m used to using synths and drum machines that are more or less the same size at the Go, very used to working with relatively small machines. For me this was the unit to get! And I’m fine with the small jog wheels. They’re smooth and precise. Sticking to the Black one though. :-)

We agree with regards to the jogwheels. People think jogwheels have to be big, but it's not true.

I got the Prime Go almost 3 years ago and I am really happy with it.
Constant software updates, improving things over time, and the last 4.1 gave us also bluetooth out!
    Is it perfect?
No it's not, but I think many people complaining about it lack of... Mental flexibility?
Very few controllers compare to this pocket rocket, and the software support has been honestly great, which, for the use you should expect of this gear, makes it worth it.

Great unit, so is it similar to Numark Mixstream Pro + ? I need something like this to play my own music, so I don't need a tone of effects or other stuff just to have the unit for show off (youtube videos on different locations) and simple playback of tracks one after another ... So the question is do I need this or is Numark Mixstream Pro + enough? Thanks :))

@@digitaldjtips Isnt it strange though. ALphaTheta have all the marketing muscle and technical prowess the industry can muster, they keep spitting out unit after unit, all with some highly desirable features, yet always somehow fall just a little short ofthe mark at a bit too steep of a price, and Denon just do a couple of small adjusstments to half a decade old product and just create a whole lot more exciting product overall AT a pricetag not out of this world...
Heck, they even removed some things here to do that... Though for myself, I dont see much point in the amazon music thing thats their thing, I`d like to see some Traxxsource adaptation, and like I think you said, Serato... maybe its in the works... Oh and Iwoiuld absolutely dig it iif turntables could behooked up as well.. Oh well. Tuff little unit nevertheless.

I just wish they would bring out a new version of the Denon DJMC 4000 , there is a gap in the market for a compact (but professional) controller, the 4000 had it all really. the prime go is amazing, but overkill for some of us who dont really need the battery or the screen which adds weight and cost to it. we could do with the extra space for better jogs and longer pitch faders. a 4000 with some new intuitive stem features, now that would be a treat

    • @digitaldjtips

The usb ethernet dongle trick has been around for a while works on the sc lives. Probably e en the Numark. There is another one to adapter to the power of the Sc Live units that is usb and plugs into a usb battery if you wanted to take those mobile though I think the Numark and the Go are much better designed for that. That said it's a good hack to use if your power brick dies.

Loved the original. One thing to beware of, the build is not as robust as it seems. Treat it as a FRAGILE ITEM and don't jostle it qround!! Especially the headphone controls on the front. Unfortunately mine broke along with some internal PCB boards somehow and it was unable to be fixed. Now i have reason to get this new one hehehe.

I have had the original Go for years I love it, its great for a last min invite to a mates BBQ or take on holiday etc, I really don't see why they took the network port off, that probably saves them about 10p as the hardware will almost certainly still be capable of it and it probably still has the area on the board just with no connector. My only real annoyance with the Go is the 1 USB port if you have a couple of DJ's who want to use their own sticks you need to use a USB hub, they missed a great opportunity to add 1 or 2 more IMO. Im not a fan of the silver, I think the original looks better :)

Pretty disappointing coming from an extended use with the Prime Go, to the same thing in "Nostalgic TechNerd Grey". I've never used up my battery doing a marathon 3+ hour set with mine, it's not really what they're made for. Adding 25% more battery and one streaming service is hardly worth spending money on. This is disappointing in that it's not much of an improvement. I do see their possible logic though: 1. Not wanting previous users to feel completely left behind and 2. They added amazon music which 90% of real DJ's couldnt give a crap about. Just sayin lots of pioneer / alpha crying but why not the same fort this waste of an update from Denon. Yeah but they ain’t trying to pass it off as a Prime Go 2 that’s the difference lol.
It’s a Prime Go + which I expect most Denon users would know its just a small update. I’m saying this as someone that is not a Denon fan too. It’s nice to get the Plus refresh in between Prime 4 and Prime 4 + and now the Prime Go and Prime Go + etc.
Every Denon fan will know without research that the name of this device doesn’t mean its a new device, I mean did lol. There ain’t a doubt about who is more innovative with their products if it was between Pioneer or Denon. It just depends on if you want to stay with club or an other type of DJ.
Check out some of Denons sister company that make Numark you will see the same trend continues with the Mixstream Pro and the Mixstream Pro +
Once you hear the word plus it says that its not a new board just a refresh.
