Thanks for the tutorial!! This is the only thing missing from the ML Line!!! Your kid is gonna have a great childhood, making memories playing with your duo!!! Awesome job dude!!
That was such a bad ass diorama you hit the nail right on the head, sounds like sabotage to me they should have known what was going to happen so called friends in your diorama world . LOVE your work keep it real and peace out...
Great job. I don't do diorama but I enjoy watching an artist turn foam and paint into art. I am now a subscriber and look forward to your other and future videos. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Great stuff man!! Your son is a lucky kid! Hey I saw myself on that last part of the vid lol I hate when "experimenting" with new things go wrong! Anyways, awesome vid! Thx 4 sharing!!
If you haven't learned about it yet, try using Mod Podge after you do your carving and before you do your painting. Mix it with a bit of black paint and a tiny bit of water and apply 2 coats. This will allow you to use aerosol paints and sealants without it melting your XPS. It also strengthens the XPS so it's less likely to get damaged.
Clicked on this out of curiosity from your comment on my youtube tutorial video. I'm not big into action figures myself, but I do like to do scale modeling. This diorama turned out great, very fun to watch it come together. I am sure he will/did love it. Keep up the cool videos!
Elton Tooahnippah More is on the way. I'm working on a 3 episode cartoon series that is occupying most of my time but I have a few commissions coming up after that I will be making tutorials for. Feel free to share this video and give it a thumbs up if it helped you. :) Thanks for watching!
This was an awesome video very informative, and I'm so glad you covered the painting and dry brushing of the pavement, I still got started into dios and I have no idea for the life of me how to achieve that effect. So once again thank you for all the hard work making that!
The end product looks absolutely amazing, very realistic and looks perfectly to scale. I really wish you had said what some of the things were made of or where you got them things like the trash cans, wooden palette, voltage box, and pipes. Either way im glad that spray didnt ruin your all your work though.
thanks! everything is handmade with foam ot wood sticks except the trash cans. the cans and pipes are from the 99 cent store DIY straws and bucket o slime
This looks more expensive and impressive than a majority of the figures I've seen . I like the bricks. Sheesh ! Must be nice. You do this for a living ? I'd like to see someone do a miniature set of buildings underneath a figure flying over , somehow. Probably already done but I have just started to watch these videos. A person can get a load of ideas from watching this . Thanks ! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks! I'm a flooring and shower contractor in "real life" so my eye for detail earns my living. I appreciate the kind words. The walls are made from Foamular Insulation Panels available at Home Depot for $6 per 4 sqft (2'x2') It's pink and easy to spot in the store by the lumber and other building materials. Usually held in an independent kiosk in the middle of the isle.
yeah bro i could tell, have you thought about trying to do Toy Conventions, showing your work like that could seriously change things money wise for people . You have mad Skills
Billy Hahn Thank you so much. I hadn't thought of it. Do you know anything about the process of doing that? Thanks for the suggestion and vote of confidence
hello man ..Im sebastian ..and I want to say .. EXELLENT WORK !!!! I need help .. can you hel me withe the colowrs of the brickswall ..?and when you finish to paint it what color do you use .. ?? thamks a lot and thanks for your time .. I want to see more of your dios videos tutorial !!!
Wow, that is an excellent piece of work! This is something I have wanted to do because of the videos like this that inspire me. By the way, what is that foam called and where can you buy it? It looks perfect for molding in the little details.
Thanks so much for watching and the compliment. Its called Foamular Insulation Panels. Its in the insulation aisle at Home Depot. Its usually in its own box in the middle of the aisle. Its about $5.50 for a 2 ft by 2ft section. Easy to locate in the store because its pink and stands out. Very easy to work with but wear a dust mask because the foam dust is bad for your lungs. www.foamular.com/foam/
Great job man! Im'm just starting to get into building my own dios. This helped alot! BTW where do you get the minature barrels and the pallet? I can never find minatures like that.
You skipped the part where you showed your technique for making the unflush bricks... I assume you cut out the individual bricks and popped them out or pushed them in?
Hello what are you doing at 13:33? Thanks Also how the heck do you not get red paint in the groves? I've been doing exactly what you have showed us but can't get past that lol. Thank you so much for sharing your art with us and giving inspiration. Amazing work! Ricky.
you take a bit off paint onto the brush and then blot your brush on a paper towel so you dont use too much paint. Its called dry brushing. You can find other videos that describe the technique in more detail. you're basically dusting the surface more than painting it. you'll see me blotting on the paper towel in spots in the video
the pipes are "DIY straws" from .99 cent store. www.walmart.com/ip/Diy-Straws/752059470?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1035&adid=22222222227000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=42423897272&wl4=aud-430887228898:pla-51320962143&wl5=9031273&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=113134932&wl11=online&wl12=752059470&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQiA1-3yBRCmARIsAN7B4H2p2STAlbPD8axQUhoHG05f0OBAudPxwKDvWtplZkhEQ6qgWW1KIpAaAnX6EALw_wcB Signage can be printed out on paper and glued to comic book backerboard
I have a question...after painting red on the brick walls and making touches.....are u suppossed to use a spray sealer or something so the paint never rubs off? Let me know..im trying to learn all this.
@117715867209141061708 eBay my man. I say if it fits the look of your project and saves time, use it. There are many miniatures sellers on eBay look for "1 : 12 or 1/12 scale doors and windows"
yeah, they are a lot of work. Often times people aren't willing to pay what it would cost to make it worth the time. If you have something in mind I could shoot you an estimate.
Awesome video but not recommend if one were to attempt in imitating the painting procedure. There are many steps and for those earlier diorama buildiners would only catch on as mentioned *dry brushing* and not steps like blending as you did at the end and why you used white to pop your works. Additional Written details for each steps would be a plus, if the learner ever need to understand more they would search it up. Eg. Dry brushing. Awesome video
+marcelojaimep Yes, sir. Its called Foamular Insulation Panels from HOme Depot www.homedepot.com/p/Project-Panels-2-ft-x-2-ft-Project-Panel-PP1/203553730

Beautiful Work! This is true art. The addition of a much needed backdrop for already imaginative figures brings them to life that much more.

Just watched this now. Amazing you are very talented. Great Dio and what's the amazing music you have playing over it?
Thank you! Which song? There are a few of them in this video.
Hi thanks for the reply. The music that starts at 3:05 very heavy guitar rocking music, sounds a bit like Michael Angelo Batio .

ua-cam.com/video/2tmAq--IcLs/v-deo.html
Thanks. keep up the good work it earned a new subscriber.
Nice job, man!I would also like to ask what's the name of the music you used at 19:04. Thanks :)
What kind of craft board did you use for the right side of the dio to cover the bricks?
what material did you use for the walls
How do you make some of the bricks look sunk in and others stand out? or did I miss it somehow...
Thanks for watching. I have that planned for an upcoming tutorial. gotta leave them wanting more they say
Hey,(I hope you read the comments :D) what paint did you use? It looks awesome!
+Ironmander Channel Apple Barrel paints from Walmart. Super cheap stuff!
Thank you!
+GJL Creative Studios thx!
But how you make the bricks pop out of the wall
I have a question...after painting red on the brick walls and making touches.....are u suppossed to use a spray sealer or something so the paint never rubs off? Let me know..im trying to learn all this.
use Mod Podge glue sealer
11 unlikes? Really now? Why would someone unlike this?
Hello, sir. I have a question. How did you make the brick parts levelled?
+Project422 Films ya gotta carve some bricks independently and glue them inside the cutout spaces only protruding a bit
+GJL Creative Studios hey were did u get the door and window Frame and love ur work
@117715867209141061708 eBay my man. I say if it fits the look of your project and saves time, use it.
There are many miniatures sellers on eBay look for "1 : 12 or 1/12 scale doors and windows"
didnt come with hardware though so I sculpted the doorknobs
GJL Creative Studios how did you remove the original bricks from the sculpt for putting in the protruding ones? Thanks for sharing this.
Can u purchase any of these. Looks like a lot of work!
yeah, they are a lot of work. Often times people aren't willing to pay what it would cost to make it worth the time.
If you have something in mind I could shoot you an estimate.
How much did you sold it man? Great job!
Thanks! I gave it to my son for Christmas in 2014
Awesome video but not recommend if one were to attempt in imitating the painting procedure. Great point! thank you
I'll find the time to do that
GJL Creative Studios How did you get the bricks to pop out of the wall?
