Hello everyone! In today's video, I'll be showing you my grueling process of creating customizations and weathering on a 1/6 scale figure and diorama, called "Battle of Hue." To build this figure, I used a combination of loose parts from various brands such as Hot Toys, Soldier Story, Dragon, DiD, ACE, and Toy Soldier. 🇻🇳 The Battle of Huế, also known as the Siege of Huế, was a major battle of the Vietnam War that took place during the Tet Offensive, in 1968. It was fought between the North Vietnamese Army and the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN), supported by the United States, for control of Huế, a city in central Vietnam. The battle lasted for over a month and resulted in a North Vietnamese victory, but at a high cost to both sides. The fighting was some of the most intense of the war, and large parts of the city were destroyed.
◉ what is Weathering in the miniature figure?
Weathering for military figures refers to the process of adding realistic details and effects to miniature figures that depict soldiers or military vehicles. This can include things like battle damage, dirt, mud, and other elements that would be found on a real-life military object that has been used in combat or on the field. Weathering is often used to make the figures look more lifelike and to enhance the overall appearance of a model or diorama. It is also used in historical reenactments, to make the figures look more genuine and accurate.

Very cool
Thank you 👊🏻👊🏻
Love seeing videos like this! Could you make a video weathering a more modern soldier? especially something like E&S multicam.
I appreciate your kind words, mate! Yes, I can make something with a multicam camouflage. 👍Actually, I've been preparing my next project using a woodland camouflage, similar to that of special forces ODA in Afghanistan. Next, I'll make another modern soldier with a multicam pattern. Keep watching 👊
How did u fix the flaking of the leather boots? The video only showed the part where u glued the soles😅
Hey, man! I just replaced the sole and then I weathered the leather. I used a flaky boot sole (ACE) on a Toysoldier leather boot... 😁👍
@@biginjapanminiatures Ahh i see, I missed out that part. So There's nothing we can do about the flaking(ace boots) right? Also will we get the same effect as the mink oil with vaseline?😂
Greetings from France 🇫🇷🙋
I really appreciate your work. I'm new to custom 1/6. Your videos inspire me for my customs.👍😉
Greetings from Japan, my friend!
Look good! keep making your 1/6 customizations. It makes our mind healthier. Thanks for your kind words👊🏻👊🏻
They did not have the ring around the surpeasur
Hello, I wanted to know where I can buy those boots and clothes. Thank you very much and congratulations for the video!
Hey, mate! You can probably find a lot of loose parts on Monkey Depot, Black Ops Toys, or Echobase Toys. Thanks for watching!
A super interesting video, especially because I am currently heavily involved with the aging of uniforms. I am currently working with oil paints and pigments. Greetings from Germany Torsten
Thanks a lot, my friend! keep pushing... 👊🏻 Greetings from Japan!
Too bad about the boots. A lot of my older figures have crumbling fake leather boots.
Totally agree with you. I got frustrated about these flake off. Lately, the only manufacturer doing a good job on leather boots is DID. I hope they make more Vietnam figures.👍🏻
Top top top

Thanks for watching, mate! Thanks for coming on and comment 👍🏻
What was the spray used on the M16? First applied to the rag then wiped off?
Before applying the weathering effect I applied matte varnish spray 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
@@brianshafer1301 I got it wrong, mate, I used the rag to remove the excess fading effect with water spray 👍🏻
@@biginjapanminiatures thank sounds correct, thank you!
Absolutely incredible work!!
Thank you, mate! 👍
can I ask, what does the mink oil do? does it protect the weathering effects or just to keep the fabric pliable?
Hello mate!
the mink oil is great for getting clothes looking grimy, dirty and stained or something like that. Super useful 😉
More videos like this please!!!
