Amen! I tried the traditional way with foam to mixed results. It took a lot of time and effort, so that was discouraging. This by comparison is much more manageable
@@maxgonzalez5696 I'm glad you think so! I feel the same way, and it occurred to me to try working "smarter" and not "harder", haha. Some things you just need the foam to be able to do, but a lot of times we're just making street scenes with brick buildings, so this seemed like it was worth a try. Good luck and have fun!
Love seeing this come together with inexpensive materials and no 3D printing! I'm planning an elaborate diorama for my Sam & Max figures, and this has me excited to get started on it soon!
Thank you very much! You'd probably feel a little different if you knew how much time it's taken and how many cuts I've given myself making this stuff 😂🙏🏼 Bless you, my friend!
Love this kind of tutorial. I’ve always admired your attention to repurposing items that would normally be tossed. I’ve caught myself hanging on to odds and ends, lol now I just need something to use them for! Looks Batfleck may be next??
Thanks so much, dude! Haha, I love it. I think the BVS Batcave is my next big dio for sure. Not sure when I'll get to it though, as I have a bunch of figured I'm itching to work on, and they take less time/are easier to make videos of without a huge gap between posts, haha.
That's so badass bro! You should stick a turtle on the fire escape so you can angle the van better so the diorama shows better. Thanks for the video! So many great ideas!
Wow! Thanks i have been watching the channel for a short time. Great useful content. Relevent thankful for pointing out low cost alternatives creativeness. I want to set back drops for my figures but now know how and where to start. Thanks keep it up!
Thanks so much for checking out the videos, and for the kind words! I'm really happy to know that you found this helpful and I hope it's a good starting point for you!
It’s always a thrill to watch your work and see your creativity come to life. When I watch what you are creating it’s like I’m hoping you do what I would if it was my creation and when you add those little details and finishing touches it makes it so more incredible. As always I send you my best regards mate and keep up the wonderful work. Rod 👍
Thanks so much, Rod. Your regular support and encouraging words are always a bright spot of this experience and I truly appreciate it. Cheers, my friend. All the best to you!
Not really. It’s a lot of material and waste for just a tiny little sign, and I don’t make enough of them to batch a bunch at once. When I have something I want as clean as possible I go to a print shop.
Thank you! I really didn’t want to try to cut through that combo of wood and plastic, so I’d probably do something on top of the brick paper like with that roll up door. I think a solid door would be easier to make look good. If I’d had the vertical space for one I’d have done that or added a partial ladder to indicate it was either the bottom landing of one where there’s no window, or that the window was bricked over at some point. A little brick ledge to show where the window used to be would be a good move, too.
Man I thank you so much. I’ve been wanting dioramas for my ML or G.i Joe classified figures for so long however they are so expensive. Never really had the utensils to make or really time but this video helped a lot. Thank you bro, preciate you 💯 especially for actually putting your items in the description which sadly most people actually don’t
Man, thank you! I'm really glad to know that you found it helpful. And I appreciate you saying that bit about the links in the description because I always try to take the time and do that for these videos even though it's time consuming to look all of the stuff up and copy and paste back and forth, haha. Thank you, bro! 🙏🏼🙌🏼
@@Ibrahim_M Haha yes, i figured that’s why most people probably don’t include them as yes copy pasting can be VERY annoying 😂. But thank you anyway it definitely helped as I now know what I want for my dioramas 👀. I’ll definitely be checking out your videos
Ayyyy welcome, man! Thanks for checking out the videos! The shelves are "VITTSJO" from Ikea, and then I had plexiglass cut to size to make "glass" covers for them. I really love these shelves and I think they're an excellent size for 1/12 scale. You can find risers on amazon to make the most out of the vertical space, too.
Great video bud, showing how easy it can be done. Shame most of your work is hidden because of the van. But enjoyed watching. Your collection is amazing with all your diorama displays, even though it's all in 1/12 lol. Joking aside it's just fantastic to see and one of my favourites out there.😊
😂 Thank you, my friend! It's funny, this is all in my office/studio, and from where I sit at my computer I can actually see the hidden bits really well. So not a total loss, haha. Thanks for the kind words and support as always, sir!
Hey took me a while to have the time to post here but watched your video at least a couple of times, hope you like the pic of my roll up door and trash container I sent you, like always you make things look so simple and with great results,I love the way you take on projects and glad to have witness your turtles turtle van and now diorama, huge respect always a fan, keep you head on swivel!! greetings from Mexico!!
Carlos! I didn't realize that was you, man! Thank you so much for sharing that with me. You did a great job! Did you cut out each brick individually? That's impressive! Thanks as always for your kind words and support, man! It means a lot.
@@Ibrahim_M Yup I cut eacha brick, and the container was also made from scratch, just cardboard, glue some metal wire, and lots of your videos! BTW, thanks for the follow
They're Ikea Vittsjo shelves that I enclosed with plexiglass. They're open in the back (but against the wall and most of them have backdrops that help enclose them). It's pretty great for keeping dust out, overall. A little gets through but very little compared to an open shelf.
Thanks! Many bottom landings on fire escapes don't correlate to windows or doors, they're just a way to get down. There wasn't the space or supplies for another stretch of ladder going up. But on a shelf with giant anthropomorphic turtles who don't have an income stream, and a rare classic van that they somehow painted and outfitted with expensive equipment, there's a lot to wrap one's head around before we get to the fire escape 😂
For someone like me who’s been procrastinating at making a diorama for years this is extremely helpful 😅
Haha I'm glad, bro! That's what I was hoping for 🙌🏼

Can you do splinter or Baxter Stockmin
I don’t plan to. I may be doing Bebop and Rocksteady, though.
that trash can is a WWF trash can from Jakks Pacific

Need a keyhole for the roller door!
Just pretend it's hiding behind a removable brick 😂
Where did you get your display case?
It's actually several Ikea Vittsjo shelves in a row, and then I had plexiglass cut to fit them so that they close like a display case.
ahh gotcha
