For this video, I hop in my friend Kody Ingo's Vortech Supercharged 2003 Mustang GT. It was incredibly weird hopping into such a similar car I once had years ago of there same model, and it was a great time. The car is stock internals and pushing 370 wheel horsepower. And incredibly low-the H pipe was scraping like crazy! Thank you all for watching and you are about it!

Kody was about that video review life!
Thanks for watching!
sunny koma As soon as I get the chance my friend. Thanks!
ThatDudeinBlue You should review CZeroMedia's EVO im pretty sure he lives in Virginia so you should check it out. 500HP!
what all did he do with the car besides forced induction? anything with the rest of the engine, heads, internals?
Nathan Koonce Should try watching the video again. He says in the video.
ownTer
stock powedered metal or whatever rods suck. thats why I was asking. not the mod list i could give af about that forced induction is enough said
LOVED the two valves. The BEST sounding and looking mustangs to date.
l0l
NuarStanger the design has aged perfectly
NuarStanger still the 4 Valves Wit the Mach and cobras are great sounding too!
94-98 best looking
Alex Powers nah 99-04
NGL this video was huge for me when i was a broke college student wanting to buld a 2v. Kept the dream alive and finally living it
LOL "That was a busa!" gotta love when car guys get shocked by bikes. but that mustang is a sharp looking car! seems like its perfectly modified to be a daily driver, if it wasn't so low to the ground.
I don't think david is a car guy. Hes a motor enthusiast more likely. He did a review on a truck awhile back.
Oh I love bikes as well, I just was ready for him to go around that corner and BAM 100+ mph. haha. It is one realm of motorsports I do need to learn more about though.
I used to be all about car's until I sat on a bike for the first time. Once you do it your forever addicted and you'll never be able to get rid of that "itch" to ride. And it's actually quite easy to learn about/get in to, especially if you already know a lot about car's, everything will make sense
Im addicted to anything motors. Im saving for a bike and I agree with what you said completely except id say cars is my #1 if I had to choose. BUT I love em all as far as im concerned!
Bullseye I went back to black.
That Hyundai = 100hp (add vinyl) = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000hp!
Lol
That Vinyl....that car was gone before the race even started.
ThatDudeinBlue Hahaha!!
Dude big fan love your vids
hey i watch your videos man big fan im subbed to you wow what are the chances
Not normally a Mustang person but your 2013 "Smurfstang" and this 2003 Mustang are the best Mustangs I have seen and are really the only Mustangs I like
It's all good man! There's always opportunity to let our taste all dabble in different stuff haha.
Man, this was the video that convinced me to buy a 2v gt for my first car. Its been a year since I've bought it and I still dont have any regrets
@u666sa Sold it and bought a C5. Currently planning on selling the c5 and picking up a terminator.
This video and the cobra video convinced me 6 years ago. was a v6 has a 5.8 small block ford swap. Will never sell my first car :(
Yeah it's just recently picked up mine about seven months ago. 2002 GT mineral gray metallic 5-speed. Current exhaust is an off-road x pipe with flowmaster 40s but eventually I'll be upgrading to Long tubes with the x-pipe and borla ataks along with strapping and eaton blower off of an 03 04 Cobra on it with a more conservative tune. So I should be getting quite a bit of power with a decent amount of gas mileage.
@@guitarsandcars2586 i hope you know an eaton off of a 4v cobra will NOT fit your 2v.. the manifold sizes dont match up and to make it match up it would cost alot and not make any sense
I absolutely loved my 99 GT auto that I bought new in December of 98. I did the bolt-ons at first. Then moved to a V2 S-trim and finally a T-76 turbo on a built block and transmission. The car ran 10.92 at Englishtown on pump gas and then my girlfriend and I drove to Portland, ME for a week. I would get 22 mpg with the AC on for over 900 miles round trip and then run 11.20s on the same Nitto drag radials. Most fun car I ever owned.
This is good power on the stock hypereutectic pistons and powder rods. Much more and it will scatter. I broke 3 of mine running high 10s/low 11s. With a built engine, transmission and rear, it was the most fun car I have ever owned. The turbo made that V8 into a monster. At 14 psi, it ran 10s on the completely stock engine and pulled up to and over 150 mph quite easily.
Hey from a person that’s been to Maine 50,000 time already 😂
i always think you're about to catch a rare pokemon for some reason. lol
Anybody else with me on the fact that the hood on this Stang should've come factory on the 99-04 mustangs...
And the Mach 1 should of came with the Cobra Front Bumper.
XxLevegencexX nah
Plate yes
I hate my factory fake hood scoop lol
What hood is it? Looks really nice
Nice review! It looks really good!
Thanks dude! It's definitely one of my favorite 99-04's I've ever seen!
ThatDudeinBlue u aint seen my 99 saleen
Matt Maran Motoring Hey it's the Subaru guy haha
@@ThatDudeinBlue have you done a review of a Crown Victoria or grand marquis?
That exhaust sounds absolutely incredible!
2 valves per cylinder? I am so used to my 16v 4cyl. Damn it took me a second to conceive of that lol! All is well though.
Duuuuuuuuude....That Hayabusa went by like a fuckin boss.
Busa power!
If he didn't say something would of never known something passed him no blur no nothing just a second of sound
Jacobi Sparks 6:03 for the mega fast Suzuki Hayabusa
+geoff I would have noticed but damn
Cleanest new edge I've seen in awhile, I was waiting for a new edge to pop up like an SVT but this car definitely has more character, it's hard to find a 2V that has more than just bolt ons. Coilovers definitely wake up the sn's in the corner too
Especially nowadays, here in central Florida I barely see custom new edge mustangs but they’re out there
Okay, I finally had to comment 'DudeinBlue'. Your so down to earth and refreshingly friendly to watch. You don't try to be a star, although your natural way of conveying info, makes one want to listen, and watch you more. I've been running into your videos so often, without even realizing it, that I had to let you know how much I enjoy them. I'm glad you moved to the Atlanta area from Virginia. I saw the videos of the issues you encountered, and pulling through them after moving here. I hope your settled and happy here. We moved to Acworth from Fla 20 years ago. We NEVER regretted it a single day, and WISHED we did it YEARS earlier! So, Kudos to you. My wife and I are MUSTANG LOVERS. We have two. Again, I enjoy your videos. Robert Keller.
This is my favorite GT in all of UA-cam
I loved that first shot with your mustang in the background!
Camera work is getting really good man, keep it up!
My friend had a 2003 terminator cobra and that thing was damn fast. 0-150 mph so easily. Unfortunately he didn't check the oil on a long road trip and seized the engine and now needs a new car. :(
Bro just have him replace or rebuild the motor its not worth buying a whole new car
That's what I'm trying to do. But he kinda wants a new bike instead so he might go that route.
Well damn if I had the money id buy the termi off of him
Tyler Novia
For real. You can rebuild it for under a grand and termis are amazing cars... Shame to see one go to waste like that.
McDonaldsGrillGuy pistons are 800$ and crank another 900$ and u can do it in ur garage haha if I had the money id buy it and rebuild it myself with a 3.4 whipple
Just finished my online health class, except for the final, so now I'm treating myself to an awesome David Patterson review. That comment about the tiburon at the end, a guy at my school drives a tiburon, his looks pretty sweet, don't know if it's modded or not though.
6:07 "THAT WAS A BUSA" *surprised look O.O
lmfao XD
His face with the Busa went by! hahhaha
Right? Dude came in his pants on the spot.
4:36 i seen you miss that shift and go into 5th lmao
Mine was boosted at 100k. At 138 now w no problems
Thanks for sharing this video, you definitely said some things I agree with. I have a 99 GT myself, stock engine with most bolt ons including long tube headers and suspension. It hasn't been tuned but the shop (who specializes in Mustangs) told me that without forced induction, it wasn't even worth spending the money to get a tuner and dyno time for. When I got the car I knew it wouldn't be the best; I just got whatever I could afford for my first car and I've learned to care for it and work on it. Its been a nice introduction to the world of cars and mustangs but I do feel a bit silly now after spending so much money on it only to realize that I'll be upgrading fairly soon. Many have said essentially what you said: the 90s (and early 2000s) were kind of a dark age for Ford in which the mustangs were (mostly) outmatched by the LS1, especially stock for stock. The new 5.0 is a monster and I can't wait to buy one myself minus the car note and insurance for a 20 year old male. The 2v and even the 3v are a waste of time if you can afford a Coyote. Just my opinion there but I've heard it from a lot of people... As you said, boosting a 2v is risky for the clutch and the internals of the engine especially if it has 80k+ miles. There are success stories or there but plenty of guys with bad luck on their boosted daily drivers that makes me want to just spend the money on the Coyote and save money on the long run for a newer and better car.
Swap would cost about as much as the car is worth and I already bought a trans am. I'm just going to sell the GT whenever I find someone who wants it.
junkyard?
Yeah that's the main problem. I'm not at that level yet. But where did you get yours? I didn't want to go junkyard route really.
I know you can get crate engines but it's $$$ cause they're new.
Then you had to buy new exhaust manifolds right? I would hate to have to buy new long tubes and put them on, even though it would be comparatively easy with the engine out of the car.
I paid a shop a lot of money for the header installation. My buddy who's done engine swaps and header installations before pretty much by himself refused to tackle it with me... so I knew it'd be a bitch. He says they're a lot easier on f bodies but he still wouldn't help me with them so I'm willing to put header installation for any car in the category of "probably should let a shop handle it". Or maybe one day when I get a garage with a lift and have more friends who can help me.
This Stang is a 10/10 in my opinion!!! Great review, David!
Another awesome review man!! Loved the way your video begins and all those beautiful shots. Great editing.
That FlyBy Was Clean
My 4.6 by 166,000 still going strong
+gary monk (nywarrior50) mine too @174,000 but its naturally aspirated
nice
My 3.8 just hit 187,000. And runs great
Brandon green urs still have a lot of life in it. I have a 1998 3.8 as a daily driver and its about to hit 250,000 on the clock and still riding smooth
nice
Just lovely. I have the same year and color, with 40,000 miles. I am ready for the 2015.
the shifters in these mustangs are horrible
They're not that bad. Not real good either. Spend $200 and get an MGW or a B&M and you'll love it.
The front view on that thing is monster, loving it
By todays standards yes a slouch. But back then mustang mags and people were posting high 13s bone stock.that wasnt too bad until u put it up against the ls1. Gears can really wake it up too
I can't believe this video is six years old @thatdudeinblue. When I first got my 2v I fiend these videos.
Hey man that was a great review of a truly beautiful gt. i was surprised that it made that much hp. I didnt even think a s/c 2v was that capable on stock internals. It would be awesome if u could review a 99-04 cobra. I would be willing to let you review my e-green 99 cobra if you wanted to but I live a few states away down in SC
I use to have a 2004 terminator. The back tires despised the front tires always being in the lead
I'm proud of my New Edge until I see this one haha, beautiful car!
I would highly suggest to anyone thinking about getting one of these to do so soon. With the world car market moving to electric and economic two cylinders, these v8's are going down the line of succession and rising in price. Won't be surprised if in 2-5 years these cars nearly double in price for anything under 100k miles.
4:32 😂
"Not bad. I dig it. Oh wow."
That should be a sticker
When these models are decked out and modified they look pretty sick
Just got my first car ever a month ago it's 2002 Mustang and man I just love how this 03 roars! I want mine to sound like that :( haha
DJ DamagedBeatz is it fast?
Can I get 1,000,000 Suscribers with no videos a mustang is pretty fast even the 2v
My Grandma bought a 2001 mustang v6 when it was new and now that I got my license it is my car and it may not be a cobra but I love the car, it only has 79k miles on it too.
i can c why it doesnt rattle he has borlas not dronemaster
come back to this video ever so often, beautiful mustang, sound great
6:05
"Good god!"
"That was a busa"
Hahaha
Got to love the "New Edge"s...My 40K mile 2000 GT is Vorteched 390rwhp/377rwtq, White Cobra R clone w/Full Kenny Brown Panhard Bar Road Race suspension, 5 way Tokico's and FR 500 Concept car Leather interior. 171+ at Talladega ...12.5@111. 20K in mods, I still have it and it is Insured for 25,000 (Agreed Value) through Grundy!!
One of my favorite videos. Can't help but notice that it isn't intercooled. Guess that must be because a centrifugal superchargers are more efficient than roots type? Would have liked to hear more about the motor. Did it need to be rebuilt with forged internals? Was it running on pump gas when you drove it?
Scott9084 I actually said everything about the motor. lol. Stock internals with just the blower kit. If it was intercooled it would've made a bit more for sure! Thanks!
ThatDudeinBlue Oop's, I'm sorry. Watched it again. Stock insides, 103K miles. I pay attention for purely selfish reasons. This project looks so completely practical for My 2000 Mustang with just a few more miles on it.
Centrifugals are a bit more efficient in not producing heat compared to the roots, BUT that still shouldn't make you avoid a intercooler. With the IAT's getting very high, timing is pulled by the computer to avoid detonation, and in turn takes power away. The 2v's can take a max of 450whp, and that's skating on the edge. It's the rods that are weak. Some even send a rod through the block at 400whp. Tuning is critical no matter what. I'm sure it'll be fine on pump gas but again, timing needing to be pulled from heat. Some run methanol injection but that requires refilling. Just get an intercooled kit for sound mind.
BleedBlue_ _TillIDie Yes, thank you. It's just this one looks so clean under the hood without the intercooler plumbing. I took a second look at this video after watching videos of the new Kawasaki H2 with its supercharger. There were comments that It wasn't intercooled and it supposedly didn't need it because it was a centrifugal type. I know... apples and oranges.
It's the stock block
ThatDudeinBlue I must've watched this video 10 times!!! Probably my favorite vid of yours. Keep em coming bro!!!!
This car is soooooo much fucking goals.
Got my '01 GT about a week ago (dream car btw) and I'm saving for this and supporting mods.
Anyone on here, THAT ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT THEYRE TAKING ABOUT, have any advice on what other supporting mods I should do BEFORE supercharging?
+CalypsoNotch408 oh trust me. if I could afford it I would've just gotten a Mach 1/Terminator to begin with and get a 4v from the start.
+Mason Rice The GT in the video was stock besides the Vortech. However, you could get headers, mid pipes, CAI with tune, even injectors. You also want to probably get better tires. Your choice though of course!
I also have 02 gt and while I thought about putting money into it, I think I'd rather just save up for a cobra, or get a new 5.0 don't get me wrong a supercharger on a 2v gt will wake it up forsure but the max you can put into these engines is 450ish horsepower more and you'll need to swap the stock internals
Update for anyone who's seen this ... Got a '01 cobra today! Decided not to waste the money on the 2v and go straight for a 4v to use as a platform.
That will be a stronger engine.
Your videos are so awesome i like it before i even watch it, honestly i don't know how you do it man but please keep it these perfect videos up
looks and sounds good.
Ngl this video got me into new edges😭😭
When are you going to get a new Hurley cap?
A lot of people commenting on the lack of power. Stock bottom end on a 2v is only rated for about 400-425 safely. Anymore and it's a guarantee to blow. i think the trans is about 600 hp minus the clutch.
..... " that was a busa" .... Haha Haha that was good!!
great review, it's pretty cool seeing you review around 360 and the back roads of chesterfield, keep up the sweet reviews man
Nice and clean Virginia "new-edge" Mustang GT.... and I do believe we heard a bit of puberty at the 4:14 mark, I think, lol.
.....what region of Virginia do you fellas call home?
Oh BTW, I absolutely love the 1999, 2001 SVT Cobra front fascia and Mach 1 grille delete and chin spoiler.
757 !! 04 2v gt full bolt ons
that Mustang looks real badass. and with the Vortech hooked up with its 4.6, it sure marches like crazy.
Everything you said is true. i have a 99 gt and when i first got it, it really sucked ,you really need to put money in the engine to wake up that 2V motor . i don't have a blower on my but i have alot of bolts on, my goal is to have a turbo cuz everybody has a supercharger but nice jod man really nice jod
David you are my inspiration. Keep up the good work as hope to become like you in my future
Thank you man!
6:04 that motorcycle tho
My first car was a 2000 Mustang GT. Loved that car and put just under 200k miles on it. Looking at getting a 2005+ this time around.
Is a 2003-04 mustang v6 a good first car? (My parents won't let me have a v8)
Get something else the v6 versions of these blow
I own a v6 now and cant wait to sell it and get a v8. The v6's below 2011 are terrible.
Reptileboy44 v6's are for chicks man, tell ur parents kids will think u are gay if u get a v6... get a 98 gt atleast an tell them they arent really fast bc they arent but atleast its a v8 and sounds nice
Hell no. They are absolute shit.
1320 video had a bad ass v6 mustang
Dude, your review was like something i'd watching Speedtv or something, good job, love the 99-04s, just got my Paxton Novi 2200 for my 2008, maybe i'll do a review once I'm done.
how much boost?
Alex Thompson all of them
Probably about 8-10 psi. Standard procedure for a non-IC vortech blower
I like how it has the 01' Cobra front end, makes it look different in a good way, deff wish I had a termi..
Lol 390 rwhp with a blower? That's sad.
Its the modular 4.6l it's and outdated engine still reliable tho
2 Valve my dude. Welcome to Ford dark ages haha
Can't get as much power from a 2 valve than with a 4 valve. :( Still a sick car though.
^^
It's a 3300 pound car so it's still pretty quick
Thanks for all the compliments :D
Once you fix the sorry excuse for a 4 link set up/ quad shock issues in the back that car is so much fun to drive! I never thought I'd like having a mustang so much. It truly is a driver's car as far as I'm concerned. Mine supposedly ran 386hp and 360 something tq but that was a sheet from the previous owner after the tune. I am na running forged internals, stage 1 cams, port and polished PI Heads/ intake, cai, bassani x pipe, glasspacks, bama, I couldn't believe a 281 2v would put such a smile on my face. Not extremely fast no, but a 5 or 6 thousand dollar car that's capable of being modded for days on a budget and provide you with arguably one of the best exhaust notes ever! Can't go wrong, right?
6 liters V8 supercharged just to get 370hp.... what a waste of fuel.....
lea009full 4.6 liter.
ThatDudeinBlue
My bad, but still a waste. The car is gorgeous I'd love to have one, but that engine is a waste. Great videos BTW dude...
lea009full it's not a waste. You might not know this, but 370 horsepower is actually quite a lot for such a light car.
lea009full do a engine swap iv been thinking about this gen of mustang too or try to get a cobra
Its a 4.6 liter not a 6 liter.
3.73s are prolly the magic gear for mustangs as they like to rev higher ever since the modular motors were put in them.
Great video! I like that he painted the grille delete to match his bumper cover. Nice touch.
that busa fly-by though
car is absolutely gorgeous cleanest 99-04 gt I've ever seen
My first car IS a 2003 V6 mustang, and I love it
Thanks for replying bro that's why your my favorite UA-camr
Good choice on the seats, I hate the stock mustang 99-04 seats!
Who else is here still enjoying this in 2020?
Always loved these mustangs. The sound and looks, so good.
I actually own one officially now. A 2002 mustang GT 5 speed in mineral gray metallic. Very happy with it. I do plan on supercharging mine but I'm going with a Roots style blower more specifically the 03 to 04 Terminator Cobra Eaton blower because of that supercharger whine that they have, not to mention it just looks the best under the hood. I also wanted to say that the 2001 mustang did not have that front bumper setup. That setup only came on the 99 to 2000 mustang.
Yeah 99-04 lowering is definite mod
Really liked this Review man! Great Job! Most guys just dont get the hang of it, but i enjoyed this alot. Especially since my 03' GT, which i still have was my first car as well : ) Keep it up man!
You complained about 15 mpg?!?!?! Our ZL1 gets somewhere around 8 mpg, but this may be due to the 730hp dumped into it. Anyways, awesome review as always and keep it up!
5:23 103,000 and it hasn’t given out I still have a 4.6 with 236k so I’m just guessing if I even attempted to supercharge this I will blow the motor if you do not think so please respond?
nice! i plan to supercharge my 08 mustang once it hits 100k miles which is still 62k miles to go xD
That car looks dope. I used to want one of these. But yeah that 90s Ford build quality tough.
best car review channel
Loved the review, and the car! I have been waiting for you to do a review on a boosted 2v, I got excited when I saw this video on my feed haha. Keep up the good work as always David, been loving the videos since way back!
-Treyson
This Mustang GT is so loud that is making my furniture to shake....amazing video!
I live in VA and this car is up on Craigslist right now for $9500. I would def go look at it if I was ready to buy.
I've got an 02 True Blue GT (same color) and its getting a coyote swap atm and this video makes me miss driving it do much
God, what a gorgeous car.
im not a fan of stangs but i love the way this car has been styled.
Always liked those 99 Cobra Bumbers.
I've been mostly an import guy my 20yrs of having cars and have always liked that gen of Mustang, looks really good! odd shifter in those cars though, man that thing sounds loud! loud and low, a tough combination for a daily!
Always nice to be different a lot of mustangs have that front end
Love this car. Can't really beat them for the price you can get a clean new edge gt for. That damn 2 valve 4.6 tho... lol
loved the review . I can relate since I have a boosted 02 new edge w/vortec v3 and a 09 Busa ... been riding bikes since forever lol !
Those wheels look gorgeous.
David my man you've got to come up to the Northern Virginia area sometime and check out our meets in Great Falls. I've got a MazdaSpeed3 that I would love to show you someday! Great videos dude and hope to see you up here soon!
You mean like this one I filmed? lol
The Great Falls Cars and Coffee:Automotive Beauty
It always sucks when I make these trips and they don't get any views. haha. And I hope to see you too sometime!
I'm not sure why people hate on the 2v PI (99-04) mustangs. I mean you can make power with them. I love mine. I'm just saying 13s in a quarter is not bad at all. It's bang for your buck.
