I think the beauty of Dark Souls challenge runs isn't "Can I do it" it's "How long will it take me to do it?" Or "Should I do this?" Or my personal favorite: "Why am I doing this"
Honestly, I got way too hyped when I saw you made a new challenge video. That being said, your videos are fantastic! Great run my guy, and can't wait to see the new iterations come out. Keep up the great work!
Oh damn, it's GW! Thanks for watching! To be honest I've been casually checking your channel once every few days to make sure I haven't missed your next video haha. Your MiraclesOnly run was inspired :)
Dude, give yourself credit too! GW was the first challenge runs I ever came across, and YOU helped me overcome my impatience and finally beat DS1. Now I'm hooked on the entire series. Both of you are amazing to the DS Community!
5:12 That's actually a speedrunning trick... Basically, you got hit and entered a stagger animation, and when that animation ended your character returned to its idle animation from which you can execute a dodge roll, which gives you i-frames as you already know, but what you might not know is that i-frames negate fall damage! Though, speedrunners usually accomplish this by either doing a plunging attack on a slope, or being at exactly 25.0008% equip load. Don't ask.
@@TheBacklogs Don't be, I have a fun time trying to work around the rules of the run. And like you said in the ds1 weapon arts video, I get to try weapons that I usually wouldn't use.
I like the perspective some new players bring into dark souls, every first playthrough is a world of new opportunities. I personally love Alluring Skulls and wonder why more people dont use it to just run through areas without being bothered by enemies.
So this is where it all began... the firebomb academy, may its be raised in ashes and fire and grow in the same falling never. May the firebomb academy grow as its fires do and raise up as high as its smoke. Praise be.
I found your channel a few days ago from the Salt and Sancuary subreddit where someone posted a link to one of your videos. I've now watched most of the things you've uploaded, and I really like your content!
I fucking love this editing XD The screaming hollow charging and bonking you with the torch, the "traitor" yell and fire bomb toss when you decided to git gud...I don't remember the last time a gameplay commentary cracked me up as hard as your stuff does. Must be like 8 years at least.
I love how the DS Community has this stigma of toxicity and gatekeeping. I thought the same. Then I came across GamersWeekend doing challenge runs, and it piqued my interest. Now I realize DS is one of the most wholesome and welcoming communities ever. What the fans hate is people refusing to learn the game then spouting "gAmE iS TraSh wTf." Now I find myself watching every challenge run I come across. And let me say. This video is better than Gwyneveres giant, massive, voluptuous, rotund.........dedication to Sunlight. \\Praise the Sun Bro//
What a lotta people don’t realize is gatekeeping like dark souls is a good thing, you should welcome new people who are willing to put in the minimum effort to engage with a community but when people just want to change it to suit their wants you shouldn’t change just so they don’t think you gatekeep
If I remember there could be a way to perform or at least place bombs on the side of the fog wall and for it to letting you have extra bombs in stock, by doing so you require to perform the "poop walk" patented name. But now that I remember I think it can only be done in the remaster version? you are able with this trick to have half of your animations speed, to just walk enoughin the fog wall and not trigger the boss ai Also binoculars are able to help you aim better and farther by first setting the throw and constantly throw Bombs at him precisely. Which I think is also the same way you precisely bomb the two spheres on the bed of chaos. If you are curious of more tricks a youtuber by the name of ymfah does wacky challenges that no same man does. So there is that too! I hope I was able to help in some way! But I assume other people tried to do so too! Also it is so charming to see you call your wife goddess It's so adorably cute and lovely Oh neat this is why you should watch the ending of videos. Now ds2 baby! And hey at least you can speed up your attack with adaptability. And I think tricks from ds1 still seem to work on the second and third. Which I think now they scale with stats

i think this video has to be my favorite of all of his so far, the edits and the jokes are absolutely my style and done great, loving the content even if its old :D
i like the idea of a noble knight willing to throw themselves at danger time and time again only to stop and say "yep gotta do the taxes and pick up the kids, you have fun but i gots to go" no hollowing, no rage quitting, just life coming at them.
This is what made me always have a full stack of fire bombs on me during my first playthrough of Dark Souls Remastered. So many early game bosses fell to the fire bombs, as I used them as a crutch while I learned the game more as I wasn't used to the slower gameplay as I game hot off the heels of Elden Ring. Even got the finishing shot on Artorias because I used a black firebomb to force him into a dodge so I had an attack opening.
Ok so how the actual hell does this guy only have 70k subs. This dude better blow the hell up. So glad the algorithm recommended you to me a few weeks ago, I’ve been watching your vids ever since and I must say keep up the great work. Hi Lemon, i stumbled upon your channel this winter.. and oh boy, oh boy have you kept me giggling. I think i can say with some confidence by now that you are my favourite UA-camr. Keep up the good work 😁
for all you people playing dark souls, this is for you. A tip is there if you want to try and kill clay lag with only firebombs yeah her fire resistance is infinite, but black fire bombs because it’s black fire. They do a bit of physical damage so they actually deal a bit of damage to qualagg
I’m not sure if it’s just because you are good at these games or not, but some of the challenges actually don’t even necessarily seem like that bad of ways to play the game! And I think that’s pretty cool

Darksouls 2 firebomb only would probably be easier since there’s different types, and I think they scale with strength.
