I hope this game franchise comes back. I'd love an open world Bone Buggy areas with aspects of Super Revivals, better graphics, better sound design and just a good return to an early Yugioh/Digimon esque story? I'd prebuy it in a heartbeat, just like if they returned Spectrobes to the world

Dynal, Duna, and Raptin have holographic devices that create their dinosaur forms, and we are told that they are prototypes. What if there was a 4th prototype, and it was on the crashed ship at Secret Island. And Dr. Diggins used this prototype to help create Vivosaurs! It would basically analyze the fossils and use the genetic information to create a hologram of the dino around the Dino Medal! Explaining why vivosaurs have to charge up FP before they can do anything, and why they dont need time to recover after battles! I would assume that the actual revival technology only actually works to awaken one from stone sleep

Apparently Beckles and Spinax are different, cuz while the new one is Becklespinax, the old and familiar one is Altispinax. I always thought both were Becklespinax.. Weird..

I remember having a copy of the first game with all vivosaurs at maxed level; even the silly little chicken nuggets I got early from the old Nintendo Channel on the Wii. It’s probably the proudest I’ve felt 100% a game on my own. I truly wish the series could come back after that stupid Frontier travesty, but I’m content with replaying the classics for as long as my hands can last. Sweet vid! You’re a real one putting this all together.

Plus this guy REALLY misses the point of cleaning a fossil if all he does is smash it to be considered "clean enough". To anyone not in the know, the more percentage of the fossil being clean, the stronger stats.

I got that event Celebi and I've been keeping it in the Gen IV games specifically to do that event again.

One thing I could not stand with Yellow version is Pikachu’s tail animation while walking. Your emulator removed this feature for the better.

As someone who grew up on the first two games. I still have found memerious of playing through them and trying to get the fire trex. Playing it with friends and so on. I would love to see a new one made, as you said in the closing. This whole video was like a trip down memory lane until the 3rd game since I never played it.

That last comment about the battle frontier is exactly why I never liked it. They just seem like afterthought mini games involving battling Pokémon that are not yours, or your own team not getting any sort of reward for winning. Adding a lot more lore and story could have helped a lot though.

Came in my recommened middle of work. Going to watch this whole video. Loved the games. Im 23 now and the DS for me was my favorite handheld like most kids. (Though the psp was significantly before its time.) These games made me obsessed. I would play for hours learn every odd team setup and comp. I loved learning the synergy between teams. The 'super battles' in my own eyes that were the post game optional bosses. All so good.

Speaking of the ds game the alpha droids give you tells that unintentionally help you beat them: if say they will use there crit move or something similar use the move that counters it, if they say that they will counter your crit move use the move your crit move beats, if they say they are not afraid of your crit move well.... use it and if they say something else that involves your crit move use the move that beats your crit move. Thats just for the first turn after that they will either try and beat the last move you used, use the same move you used or use the move they used again. After a tie they either try beat the tie move or bet you are gonna try and beat the tie move so they pick the move the tie move beats. And well that means that if your good enough you can beat higher level dinosaurs with low level ones though slower. (Also no matter what if you get countered the alpha droids will use the same move they use to counter you example: if you choose rock but they beat you with paper they always choose paper until you tie with them or choose scissors)

Short aside at 36:30. You say that kyoger, groudon, and rayquaza are based on behemoth, Zizs, and Leviathan. While they probably serve for the loose Inspiration for the Legendaries, especially given the biblical proportion To which they cause damage in these games. In the Bible itself, it states that the original creatures We're actually Not all that powerful persay, didn't have control over nature, They were more just giant inconveniences that would cause trouble when angered. It's similar to like a kraken or something. As well ziz the flying one didn't have control over the other two. Furthermore, none of the gen 3 legendaries have much visual connection to the biblical creatures. Ziz was a Griffin, Leviathan was some kind of a snake, and Behometh was like a bull or cow. Still, I think the connection is interesting. I love that pokemon can pull form many different sources. Great vid

Thank you for giving ORAS the justice it deserves. I’m almost 22 years old. Hoenn is my favorite region. Emerald was my first game. ORAS is my favorite game in the whole franchise. Gen 6 in general is majorly slept on gameplay wise and aesthetically wise. The art style is just as good as Gen 5’s. You combine that gameplay and art style with the near perfection of Gen 3 alongside new innovations like the upgraded Dex Nax functions, the national dex and its Pokémon becoming available pre elite 4, the Eon Flute, and most of all, the final battle in space vs Deoxys, I just don’t understand how so many hated on ORAS. Yeah, the lack of the battle frontier sucked, but if that’s the only real criticism in a Pokémon game then it must be a damn good Pokémon game.

Ever since watching ur region retrospective, ive subbed and been waiting for the next one, im not heavy pokemon fan nor have i never played much of the games, but your retrospectives on it makes it so interesting to watch, cause mainly you talk about the game development, how it effected the series overall, how was the community like at the time, etc. i cant wait until eventually you go into the 3D pokemons, that'd be nice to listen to the background :]
