I think the theme for Jhoto is preservation and the decaying of time. (Kind of like The elves in lord of the rings). The burned tower, the desecration of the slowpoke well, the forced changes of the Lake of Rage, the kimono girls, the ilex forest, etc etc Lugia hides itself to protect and preserve those around it, for if it flaps wings, it'll cause a devastating storm. Ho-oh renews and revitalizes life to preserve it
@@MIBxSpartan bro, I'd play D&P with its 10,000 HMs and slow battle mechanics over any Switch Pokemon game... And I haven't played any, nor do I intend to.

Gen 2 holds a special spot in my heart because of Takeishi's contributions. I followed his blog posts and his writings really struck me in a way as did his struggles with substances. His thoughts about the role of maternal figures in the series as well as his uncommon (in his culture) respect for them and their own special form of strength really showed his progressiveness and willingness to think beyond himself. To some degree of unfortune, I feel like we had a lot in common, sort of a kindred spirit in a way despite not having met. It's made lugia one of my favorites and I tend to name my protag in the games Shudo in memoriam of him and his wonderfully unique mind. Thanks for the video on such an important part of the series' history.
I was gonna add, I think Ho-Oh is based on Ameterasu and Lugia on Susanoo. Plus Ho-Oh gives new life to the dead beast trio, while Lugia is connected to the older, last gen, legendary birds.
The commercial at the beginning literally made me tears 😢 nostalgia hit like a freight train jit 😢 I got Pokémon blue version and a game boy for Christmas of 1998 and then got yellow virgin Christmas of 1999 and I’ve loved the pocket monsters every since jit b!

Less than 4 minutes in and you got me HOOKED! The silver lion being the trio leader of the beasts and Ho-oh being leader of the birds makes way too much sense. I kinda wish we had gotten that version of Silver instead.

I remember when HGSS came out it took my 5th grade class by storm. Everyone had their ds’s at school trading and battling pokemon. It felt like the people in my generation got to have our own little pokemania because of these games. Even if it didn’t last as long as long as the original pokemania. Those few months and summer vacation that year felt really special. I guess you could say there was a third pokemania with Go in 2016 though.
I remember playing this game for the first time in 2000 and thinking to myself, “it’s like the johto pokémon are absurdly difficult to obtain just because they’re new pokémon.”
When I was in 3rd grade everyone said I had a crush on Lanette so I know what you mean. In reality though, I was just autistic and when words or names got stuck in my head I made it EVERYONE'S problem.
I'm also gonna give an extra engagement comment for the Chikorita love! To this day, best starter. People shet on Meganium, and yeah the fairy type added would've made sense. But as a defensive part of the whole in a team. Genuinely good. Leech Seed, Body Slam (for Paralyze) Light Screen, Reflect. Just let his tiny lettuces suck up their life whilst they can't move, bop them now and then, keep your Defs up. Switch out after screens. It's just not a 'team leader' in the way Cyndaquil and Totodile play. And subbed.
As a hardcore gen 2 fan (Gold is my first pokemon game and honestly is the first game i can remember playing as well as having a copy of gold and crystal still, bought all 3 on 3ds and still own a copy of soul silver with the pokewalker and i still play ALL of them regularly) they are my favorite games Johto feels like home to me and while now yeah people have a hard time with just Johto on its own thats only because it had to be limited BECAUSE they wanted to add Kanto but idk why they wouldnt have added MORE to HGSS but if they did just 1 more remake of it, if they really took the time to rework the reigon and add more to it as if it was its own place (which it is) there is not a doubt in my mind you wouldnt need kanto. At least in my opinion. I know its just a lot of nostolgia from me but even now i wouldnt and dont need Kanto to enjoy the region, but i sure wouldnt turn down a really nice update to the place either lol
Yea, Gold/Silver are prettty iconic. I started with Yellow and am still a hardcore fan. The Pokegear feature is definitely the coolest item in all the Pokemon games. And I named the rival, Silver, in my game to JerkA$$. ^_^ He lived up to it too. Aw, wow. Seeing the remakes, *sigh*. Everything about them is great. So MUCH content! Best games. These(SoulSilver for me, Lugia all the way) and Omega Sapphire. So many feels right now.
Im glad you mentioned the Gen 2 mons and how Johto isnt as good as most ppl say. I totally agree. Gen 2 is so under represented in the main story itself. I did a check of my pokedex when i got to the elite 4. 161 seen. 36 of those where Johto. And some of those were only seen once or in the very last portion of the same story. It was a mistake to not involve the new mons more in the main game. Gold and Silver i feel are incredibly overrated to begin with. Lack of mons, lack of elemental stones till post game, the options for team building are terrible, the bad level scaling and the almost guaranteed need to grind to catch up to the elite 4. Theyre terrible to replay. Crystal fixes almost all of these problems that is the game that is amazing. Saves Gen 2 completely and cements it as a Top 3 generation in my eyes. But really wish the wild pokemon and trainer team composition was more balanced with johto and kanto mons
HG/SS actually makes Silver worse. Literally everyone he encounters tries to beat it into his head that he should be more compassionate. Then at the end he's like, "huh, maybe that Lance guy was right."
11:40 A Pokemon's shininess is determined by its DVs (the precursor to IVs). The easiest way to edit a Pokemon so it'll be shiny using arbitrary code execution is to make all 4 DVs 10. The max each DV can be is 15, so a shiny with all 10s would be better than average. IIRC, the Speed, Def, and Special DVs (yes there's still only one Special DV and the HP DV is determined by the other 4) have to be exactly 10, and the Atk DV has to be 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, or 15. So you could have max Atk on your shiny (and max HP).
I'm replaying Crystal right now (it'll always hold a special place in my heart as my first true Pokemon game. I cried when I turned on my original GBC version many years back and found the Continue option gone. RIP my OG Typhlosion, you were the Best Boi). My current team is Smitty W. The Quilava, Chucktesta the Sudowoodo, The Goat the Heracross, Dollarbill the Xatu, Postmalone the Sunflora, and Lightbulb the Lanturn. It's a fun run because aside from the Cyndaquil line, I've never really used any of these 'mons before, and it's going pretty well so far. Heracross earned his nickname for one-shotting Whitney's Miltank using Fury Cutter after building its consecutive use power-up against her Clefairy. Not a strategy I had ever considered before, mainly because Heracross is such a pain to find and it's the only Bug who won't get wrecked by Rollout.
Hell yeah! I love the nicknames for the team, I'm so lucky I've kept my first copy of diamond in working condition over the years. Sadly my Red DS lite is gone but, I replaced it with a blue and it's amazing to play that game like that....damn now I got to do that asap!ASAP! Edit: Also I love using mons I never had before. Seeing how to fit them into a team is imo the best part of replays.
I lowkey wish those Tomagachi styled games were still huge when I was in school. I mean we sorta had them but it was just Talking Tom and Pocket God, less nurturing a beloved creature and more causing untold suffering to them instead....It was pretty fun tho :)
@@Chubby_Bubby tbf no one else had the weeby ones like I did, everyone else had the actual tamagotchis. Though my school banned them, meaning your pet would likely die while at school. At least the Pikachu and Digimon couldn't die. Those came out as I was entering college so they never really appealed to me but I can see the appeal to a younger generation. Most kids in my school brought in their GB/C/A/SP to school so we'd usually battle and trade at lunch. We also had the usual fads like everyone having Beyblades, or Yugioh cards or Pokemon cards, then their were Pokemon and YGO stax and Crazy Bones. Getting me all nostalgic! But the one constant was always the Pokemon games.
Man, the Digimon Vpets esp were on the best things ever. Still have a few of them even. One actually I keep alive even now. I had an orange digivice on my belt always too. Though when you're walking near roads you could never hear it beep, so missed so many battles and did no doubt way worse with it than otherwise. The pocket Pikachu was awesome, but I remember it not doing as huge amount as the Digimon ones overall. Our school 'tried' banning tamagotchi, but I ran a babysitting service for my class, so a load in my pockets over the day. Only got confiscated twice, not bad odds, not bad. The 90s were so dang good. *Insert old person*: Kids don't know what they're missing these days.
@@SombreroPharoah oh my god the amount of battles I must've missed too. I wish I still had mine, I had a blue clear D1, both Red & Blue D2s + the D-Terminal, a Red D3, and a Red D4. I remember battling myself a lot at home with the D2s. I'd add a new Digivice to my belt every new series. I miss the 90s and early 00s, kids really are missing out. Yeah the pocket Pikachu had like a blackjack mini game, a higher or lower game, "feeding" him even though he never actually got hungry, a step meter, and a couple other screens. Pikachu would also encounter things at different step counts, and would sleep at night as it kept time too. That's all I can really remember about it but yeah had far less features than the Digivices. I had the OG Pokédex as well. Also that's pretty cool, being the care taker of so many tamagotchi's. The hero they needed! Only getting busted twice ain't bad at all! Closest role I had like that was being the kid who could repair Beyblades because I carried tools and super glue, so whenever anyone's blade broke or launcher got jammed, they'd come to me.
@fletcherrobinson3452 there is a video on it but it's kinda old. I wanted to do a new version, but I was going to do the prime series first then go back...least that was the plan til my wii u bricked. So for now that plan is on hold, least til I figure out another way to record prime footage.
@@Chubby_Bubby I gotcha! I'll try to look back and find it. Fusion is one of my favorite games of all time so I'd love to hear your commentary on it! The prime trilogy would be dope too! Any Metroid content is good in my book lmao. You could at the very least do the Prime 1 retrospective with footage of the switch remaster. Just a thought🤷🏻♂️
Ah. The realization that Johto’s foundation relies heavily on Kanto hit me like a ton of bricks…. It’s my favorite region and I wish they did more stand alone stuff with it. But I understand why GF wanted to tie it together with Kanto. It’s a sequel first and foremost. Maybe we’ll get legends Johto in 2027.
I'm sure we'll get some sort of new Johto game in the future. But if it's any sort of remake, then it will need to have kanto glued to its hip. Unova is in a similar spot, with how story driven it is I think that they'll have to always remake both games instead of one over the other. Even if it's legends kyruem or BW3, it will directly tie to both of those preesstablished games. Which is a big reason they skipped to XY for ZA in my opinion.(Though it still to tbs if XY get any sort of remaster or if this new game will have little to no plot significance to XY)
I like to think that Sun and Moon is just themed around Lovecraftian horror. The Ultra Beast are often confused by fans if they are actually Pokémon because they are not encountered normally, seem to have legendary status but feel distinct from legendaries, are all big an imposing, and have this abnormality within reality vibe to them. It is weird that this all takes place in the Pokémon equivalent of some place like the Bahamas or Hawaii.
Smithplays Pokémon Crystal Legacy is a faithful remake of Pokémon Crystal, with hundreds of hours of community made development to make the game more up-to-date with today's standards of Pokémon, as well as making a faithful experience with enough of a twist that veterans and new players could enjoy.
What if in the anime when Ash enters the Pokémon Center for the first time to heal Pikachu and he sees the display of the Legendary Birds with “Arcanine…” instead it was supposed to be the scrapped Silver Beast Pokémon (as another Gen 2 tease next to Ho-oh’s cameo) 🤔
The way you describe Johto feeling like it lacks without the Kanto content kind of makes it feel like a parallel to Kalos. They were both the second generations of their respective eras of pokemon (one being the second of the original regions based on Japan, the other being the second based on another country), they both have a lot of visual flare and iconic elements, they both have tons of additional content for players to immerse themselves in, and they both have strong pokemon rosters in terms of design & memorability. However, when it comes to the story and actual material to the regions themselves, they both fall a little short compared to other generations
Karen: TRUE trainers use their favorites. Lance: I LIKE DRAGONITE. Karen: Okay, But-- Lance: IMMA USE THREE DRAGONITES. CUZ ALL MY DRAGONAIRS EVOLVED INTO DRAGONITES. Karen: Why not take inspiration from your Yellow--- Lance: CHAMPION LANCE NEEDS HIS DRAGONITES. Karen: ...Okay.
Ooo now that's a compliment! It reminds of a time I played duel links and I was getting molly whooped by a really good player but his internet cut out mid match. So I said in my perfect kariba impression "Your a 1st rate duelist with a 4th rate internet connection!" lol I thought that was hilarious but my mokuba brother was unamused.....
My theory about the Nidoran is that they are the baseform of the creature and some individuals grow into larger forms to protect the smaller members of the group, sacrificing their capacity to reproduce in order to become defenders. So in a way the Nidoran are the real queens of the colony and Nidoqueen are more like a warrior class.
I know nothing about Icy Tea, but Milo's has been a saving grace these last few years! A true light in the ever expanding darkness!!! And the lemonade tea mix 🤤 10/10
These three games really are something special. I started with Ruby and between weird unofficial books, the anime being way behind where I'm from and Fire Red and Leaf green coming out I was super familiar with gen 1 stuff too, I never heard of Johto and a lot of its pokemon I genuinly believed were from Hoenn or Togepi being gen 1 and everything else had a shroud of mystery, didn't help that Ho-Oh and Lugia were treated like event exclusives in the handheld games, as if they were mythical like Mew or Jirachi. It wasn't until just before Diamond and Pearl came out a friend gave me a copy of pokemon Gold, I did prefer Lugia over Ho-Oh at the time because of dumb kid dragons are cool logic but I wasn't going to say no to a free game especially one with so much personal mystery behind it. I remember my starter was a female Cyndaquil named Cindy and because I never had the patience for eggs or friendship at all in any playthrough of Ruby or Fire Red, when I got the egg from Mr. Pokemon I made it a personal mission to hatch it and had Togetic and a Crobat on my team by the time time I reached Indigo Plateau. The thing that really stuck with me though with this game was all the extra stuff, the side stuff. Even as a kid I always gravitated more to games that tried to simulate an idea over any narrative driven experience and these games really stick out because of that. I'd say pokemon started out closer to a simulation rather than a story driven game, gens 1 & 2 never really take you out of your personal adventure too often and are usually happy enough to let you wonder around doing your own thing for the most part, they certainly aren't remembered for their masterpiece narratives and plots. Ruby and Sapphire were a huge step in the other direction and changed the focus of the pokemon adventure for every game after, a lot of the earlier games from gen 3 up still had some fun gamey - simulation type stuff but for me the games never really had that living in a world feeling like gen 2 did. Also while I could never argue for the jank in these games being intentional game design choices, they certainly are a happy accident for weirdos like me who enjoy slowly over a few daily sessions level grinding the pokemon that don't appear until Kanto or even Mt. Silver just to see them evolve. I did get Larvitar to evolve into Tyrnitar just to fight Red with one but I've long since beaten Red in Crystal on the 3DS and I'm still popping on the odd time to grind to evolution some pokemon I found in Kanto at like lv15 because thats just my kink I guess? I like to see that blue line shoot up 5 - 7 levels after one Rapidash in Mt. Silver on for it to come to a crawl shortly after, but it's not thatbad I swear because by lv30 its really only 5 - 10 Rapidash or Tangela per level and eventually that pokemon gets strong enough to grind itself without the Exp. Share anyway so it's cut in half for a little while, knowing this isn't normal is it? I don't just come back for that autism diagnosis(like I needed another one) of a hobby, I do genuinely enjoy the normal parts of the game, I take part in the odd Bug catching contest for fun and with the hopes of one day getting that sun stone, I visit Mt. Moon on Monday nights every so often to try my chances at getting a Moon Stone, I only need one more, I like to keep specific trainers in my phone in the hopes that Tully might actually have a Water Stone for me this time. On the topic of chance, this is the only game I've actually got the game corner Porygon, I know it's way easier in Crystal but still, I think I might have went for a few other things too. I also like this Team Rocket more than any other team ever, maybe Team Skull as a close second. I just prefer the goofy con artist gangsters over the world domination types, I actually wish they'd have Rockets doing different schemes as an every so often event for you to interact with, maybe beef them up a little post game so you can keep fighting them and maybe use them for exp, but mainly to keep the world alive post game along with all the other stuff. I also prefer the general style of pokemon of the late 90s - early 00s, that Gold and Silver add with the 2d pokemon in the filmed woods all dark and shit is just what pokemon looks like to me, get that brightly lit 3d Pikachu jumping out of a tv away from me. I love all those old adds, I love the pixel art of this generation the most, like I agree, pokemon could have just kept looking like this and I'd have loved it. And the tcg stuff from that time is very inspirational to me, I love how the emphasis on the two new types overrode keeping the tcg types simpler, I like how in some weird way Dark and Steel almost represent past and future in themselves, not perfectly but if you look at the pokemon that got those types the Dark types seem ancient while nearly all the Steel types look like robots or machines, but that's more so my crazy take on that. I definitely get the vibe that these games aren't another "Gen" like the other generations are, they not only feel more like a sequel, but playing into how the development of the games went, these really feel like the tie it all up in a nice bow final installment kind of sequel, almost like the perfect version of what Red, Green and Blue where supposed to be. A funny thing happened after I played Gold, even after catching Lugia later on I found that my new favourite of the two became Ho-Oh, spending time with it helped me come to love it's actually beautiful design, the colours, the grace of its poses, but also how Ho-Oh is the Johto region, how from the get go you see these old towers and ruins and how you pass through Ecruteak a few times because it's essentially the center of the region, the culture is built around this great bird pokemon that grants wishes and resurrects the dead, Ho-Oh was the og Arceus. While encountering it in Heart Gold is all cinematic and cool, when I finally caught Entei and Raikau in Crystal recently and brought them with Suicune to the Tin Tower, I think that was the most legendary pokemon encounter I've ever had, it didn't have a cutscene or unique music, all it needed was that deep meaning behind it, I spent way longer immersing myself in Johto and Kanto before even getting to enter the tower, I had to catch the other two elemental bois so I ended up doing a lot of the other stuff in the game before hand, so when I finally got to go it was personally such a powerful moment, no other legendary pokemon felt like that ever. Of course, my game didn't end there, I still play Crystal doing the little bits but it's every bit of these three games are the best pokemon experience I've ever had.
Pokerus has 2 states. Active and inactive. Inactive pokerus cannot spread but still buffs your evs gained. And active pokerus will spread, but will turn inactive 50% of the time after a day has passed if the pokemon is not in your pc. . Not this info is based on my experience after contracting it in gen 5. So gen 2 might work exactly as he says.
5:23 she's the newest gym leader, she's the 25th or so strongest trainer in the Indigo super-region, so her team should be the weakest of the 16 Gyms, and 4 Elite 4, plus Red, Giovanni, Lorelei, and Agatha
I took a 10 year long break from Pokemon. I turn on my Black Version and find out I actually have the shiny pichu!!!!! Only to discover after some troubleshooting that it couldn't be transferred past Gen V....so wack.
The shiny thing is actually pretty simple: If a Pokemon is shiny in Gen 2 is determined by their "innate strengths" value, which is known as IVs/DVs by fans. (I'm using the official term) Meaning only a specific combination of innate strengths can be shiny. The maximum amount of innate strengths can never be shiny. On that note, i never got why everyone uses the fan terms over the official ones, because they literally contradict themselves. Fans use the term base stats for what is officially called species values, while base stats is the official term for what fans call effort values. That can create some confusion because base stats is actually used ingame as its inteded.
Pokemon DOES have some very interesting topics across multiple scientific disciplines and mythology as well Edit: also, I agree 💯 with rock ground thing.
Lmao The thing about Celebi in the virtual shop version... I just found this out days ago by finally playing the 3DS version of Crystal that I downloaded a long time ago. I couldn't stop thinking " so wait, they finally made it available and then immediately took it away from everyone?!" God, they suck! What point is there in making these things unavailable?! Thanks for pointing this out!
Considering the pokemon rom hack scene for a minute (there's so many pokemon rom hacks it's ridiculous) I recommend pokemon crystal clear for an old school experience and storm silver for an updated experience compared to the original soul silver. As for the original gen, there's so many firered and base red hacks that it's a futile effort to list them all.
To each their own but I sometimes feel like the only person who doesn’t have an issue with the level scaling. I’m never exactly on par with the leaders or elite, but I’m high enough to beat the game fine. Especially in runs where I do go back and explore/backtrack all optional areas as I go.
Bruh, Johto and Hoenn are my Favourite Regions. HG/SS & BW2 are my Favorite Pokemon games. Johto Barely gets Any love in terms of remaster/remake/Switch game. Let's Go would've sold a Whole lot more if they included the Johto region after Kanto. And, made it One game version with the decision to choose Either Pikachu or Eevee as the starter.
The only cross gen evolutions not available through normal gameplay were leafeon and glaceon, needing to have them traded it. Why not add environment items to icy path and ilex forest?
As for shinies being stronger than most pokenon is because the rng value for calculating a shiny will always give them IV's on the higher end but never perfect
In terms of the "intended method" for which these games are supposed to be played? I actually don't think there is one. Or rather, the intention was that any player could approach these games how THEY want to. A large part of the major reason for Pokemon's success is that it was one of the first RPG's to give players a HUGE degree of freedom of choice. 150 (ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY) potential options for your Pokemon Partners. In the 90s? That was insane. Absolutely fucking insane. Gold/Silver/Crystal have a bunch of side features because their philosophy was that any player could approach the games in THEIR way. Want a life sim? Ok! Want to grind? Sure! Want to be a completionist and catch them all? Ok! Want to go through the whole game with only your starter and NEVER evolve it? You can do that too! That, is the philosophy. In my opinion, anyway.
I find it hilarious how people called digimon a Pokémon ripoff when Pokémon used the all monsters make eggs thing after digimon 😂 Edit: neither is a ripoff btw, they Emphasis different aspects of the genre

I remember being a kid cutting grass to save up to buy gold and silver in Japanese cause I couldn't wait for the U.S. release.
Head cannon Lorelei was one of my first videogame crushes (I was seven, piss off) and was devastated to learn she's possibly changed teams.
When I was in 3rd grade everyone said I had a crush on Lanette so I know what you mean. In reality though, I was just autistic and when words or names got stuck in my head I made it EVERYONE'S problem.
So there is a lot to like here, but I wanna say I adore the end with you going over each team as characters. Genuinely adore it so so much
I’ve watched two of your retrospective videos now and I had to say they are top tier quality. 10/10 would listen to at work
This is a really in depth review
Another banger retrospective I am hype for the next gen ✊🏽😆
This video is fantastic, instantly worth the sub. My only gripe is the pronunciation on Eucine, which is pronounced "yoo-seen"
Thank you so much!
Also, yeah, I kept thinking about it's an anagram suicune and I couldn't help but pronounce it similar 😅
Ive heard he didnt actually compress to get it in. That he just did the normal compressions. And doesn't know how the rumor started.
I had a Pocket Pikachu Colour as a kid, I used to carry it with me everywhere. I also used to carry DigiVices. Yeah I was one of the cool kids xD
Now you’re a cool Radey-Boy
Great video man! Love Johto more than life itself and love your sense of humor lol. You've got yourself a new subscriber👍 keep it up!
Also, looking at your channel, I see you've done some Metroid vids! Was just curious if there was a Metroid Fusion vid in the works?👀
Alright I'll sub, but you better finish this series, pal
That's the plan!
I see a gen 2 retrospective, I click like. I also see that you’ve made a Pokémon stadium video too! Happy to have found you!
I love this game so much. Thanks for this great review
Love the Kaiju names
I got that event Celebi and I've been keeping it in the Gen IV games specifically to do that event again.
Double comment I love how he mentions OP Psychic and shows ash being COOKED by mewtwo
Commenting to boost this in the algorithm
:) yessir
Damn good job on these vids. Got my sub
Maaaaan I loved silver
I love how his animations change to show that he's losing hope as you go through the game idk
Oh my God I love Daisy
Karen: TRUE trainers use their favorites.
Lance: I LIKE DRAGONITE.
Karen: Okay, But--
Lance: IMMA USE THREE DRAGONITES. CUZ ALL MY DRAGONAIRS EVOLVED INTO DRAGONITES.
Karen: Why not take inspiration from your Yellow---
Lance: CHAMPION LANCE NEEDS HIS DRAGONITES.
Karen: ...Okay.
Poor Lance needed his DRAGONITES so much he had to chest them in to get them early....
you hate to see corruption in the modern league these days 😔
I, a transmasc with Ice as my favourite type who wants to dye his hair purple, will be adding Will to my list of names now.
Great video!! New sub. I can tell you out a lot of work into this video. You killed it dude
Great video! Random thought, sometimes your voice sounds like Seto Kaiba and that's awesome lol.
Ooo now that's a compliment!
It reminds of a time I played duel links and I was getting molly whooped by a really good player but his internet cut out mid match. So I said in my perfect kariba impression "Your a 1st rate duelist with a 4th rate internet connection!" lol
I thought that was hilarious but my mokuba brother was unamused.....
My theory about the Nidoran is that they are the baseform of the creature and some individuals grow into larger forms to protect the smaller members of the group, sacrificing their capacity to reproduce in order to become defenders. So in a way the Nidoran are the real queens of the colony and Nidoqueen are more like a warrior class.
lol what’s with everyone and Milo’s brand tea and ICY Tea XD
I know nothing about Icy Tea, but Milo's has been a saving grace these last few years! A true light in the ever expanding darkness!!!
And the lemonade tea mix 🤤

Fire video
Awesome video ❤
Pokerus has 2 states. Active and inactive. Inactive pokerus cannot spread but still buffs your evs gained. And active pokerus will spread, but will turn inactive 50% of the time after a day has passed if the pokemon is not in your pc.
.
Not this info is based on my experience after contracting it in gen 5. So gen 2 might work exactly as he says.
I think the fact that they made you hate him that much just go to show how good of a protagonist he is lol
5:23 she's the newest gym leader, she's the 25th or so strongest trainer in the Indigo super-region, so her team should be the weakest of the 16 Gyms, and 4 Elite 4, plus Red, Giovanni, Lorelei, and Agatha
Bacteria and viruses are different things
Great series chubby
33:58 as a life long fan of both that's true, in fact there similar in alot of strange ways
The thing I like about the pokemon in battle sprites that they only use 4 colors! 2 of them being black and white.
S-she actually holds your money and doesn’t spend it all?… that’s kinda awesome
I took a 10 year long break from Pokemon. I turn on my Black Version and find out I actually have the shiny pichu!!!!! Only to discover after some troubleshooting that it couldn't be transferred past Gen V....so wack.
In the words of the gen 9 rival
"Pokemon, am I right?" 😃
“Gold and Silver were going to be the last Pokemon games” has been proven false already but run with it ig
The shiny thing is actually pretty simple:
If a Pokemon is shiny in Gen 2 is determined by their "innate strengths" value, which is known as IVs/DVs by fans. (I'm using the official term)
Meaning only a specific combination of innate strengths can be shiny.
Bro deserves WAY more subs. Give it to him, algorithm.
Pokemon DOES have some very interesting topics across multiple scientific disciplines and mythology as well
Edit: also, I agree 💯 with rock ground thing.
Your favorite UA-camr at the time laying Crystal? I already know its Chuggaaconroy
You should do a top 10 favorite video with explanation to why
To each their own but I sometimes feel like the only person who doesn’t have an issue with the level scaling. I’m never exactly on par with the leaders or elite, but I’m high enough to beat the game fine. Especially in runs where I do go back and explore/backtrack all optional areas as I go.
24:44
Bro. I just died.
😂😂💀
Pokémon X!
I need you to do a video on Snorlax. Lol
Im going to be PISSED if we gey Meganium in ZA.... if they only give it a mega 😡 deserves Grass/fairy Kaloseon(?) Form
Shiny Pokémon are determined by DV’s, IV’s before gen 3, Shinies can’t have 15/15 for every DV
Says "there are types of viruses like the bacteria..." then brags about being smart...
Anyone else run into Pokérus more often than shinies? I have gotten it more times than a shiny.
ive run into a legit shiny once, and i never ran into pokerus that wasnt hacked in
if you're not sure about Johto's narrative themes, may I recommend "Johto: Chasing the Myth" by Aleczandxr? that vid got me EMO.
Post transition Lorelei this generation is so bizarre and screwed. Why do we need to ruin something from childhood?
43:43 Actually, the quiz comes from pokemon Crystal.
Pokemon X! 😁
