Today I grabbed a 4-Door 1992 S10 4x4 Tahoe/Blazer with Original 98,870 miles, acquired from an Elderly/Disabled U.S. Veteran at an astonishing $2,500. He "Claims" that his Acquistion of the vehicle was from UC Berkeley. Has all the original Dealer Pamphlets/Service Books, Owners Manual etc., even came with the plastic "Emergency Keys" never opened/ used before.

Man... wouldn't want to drive that 1.9L 4 cylinder with an automatic. 0-60? Maybe. Depends on how much you've got in the vehicle. Just looked it up. Estimated 22 seconds 0-60, lol.

lol... the 3-4 bounces of the suspension after he comes to a stop... I'd say he needs some new shocks but it's apparently a brand new vehicle.

The ONLY way to know is to look under(very easy) and to check for bulged housing tubes, and flat casting teeth on the bottom, and 8.5 cover is much more round. Ive checked 11+ different 5 speed 4.3 1999+ trucks and NONE had an 8.5...the 12th one i found was a 4x4 but it was smashed and rear end destroyed...theyre RARE

So a 2001 extreme auto trans 4.3 L35 gu6 ,is a 7.5 or 8.5

I still have my old Tahoe trim package with 2.8 V6 still runs good and has the optional power Vista vent IE sunroof, I love when people ask me if it's fast, I just politely remind them it's 3300 lb with only 120 horsepower and shaped like a brick but I wouldn't trade it for nothing

I found a 2wd 8.5 rear end at our local junkyard. Came out of a 02 4.3 5 speed standard cab s10. Traded a catalytic converter for it. Had a open 3.08 gear with drum brakes. Kept the 3.08s bit swapped in a Yukon dura grip posi with all new bearings. Plan on swapping over to disk brakes when i can find the parking brake brackets for a good deal.

September 7th, 2023. Western Washington State. If anybody is interested, there is a black 1999 2 door 4.3 V6 4WD Blazer in the Lynnwood Pick-n-Pull with an 8.5/8.6 disc brake rearend in it. Blazer has an automatic transmission so it shouldn't be there, but it is the real thing. I spotted it about 3 weeks back, so it won't be there much longer. If it was a 2WD I would have already pulled it out, someone should grab this before it goes to the crusher.

Are all ZR2 63” wide and did any of the S10 pickups come with disc im finding a lot of L35 M50 options not seeing the disc brake codes with them

i have a 96 s10 2wd 5 spd LF6 with g80 rear end has the 3rd horizontal shock on the pass. side would this be an 8.5 also ? thanks

I've seen a lot of this misinformation about S10/Blazer rear end swap. Now comes the tricky part..What's the actual widths of this rear ends?? And swap difficulty?? I want to LSx swap my '02 ZQ8 S10. For street/ strip play and don't think the 7.6 rear end will hold together let alone get past being a "1 wheeler peeler"

My firsg truck was an 1989 S 10. 2.8 liter v 6 4x4. Loved that little truck. Id buy another one in a second of O could find it. I would splurge for the 4.3 v6. Those are quick little trucks

Great news. Just bought a 2001 2 door 4.3 5 speed blazer. Was hoping it had the 8.5 as we are LS swapping it tomorrow.

The 2.8 was a shit motor but the 4.3 was a awesome motor that would run is ass off.

Here is the different widths. Hope this helps. 2wd 54.5" 4wd 59" ZR2 63" That's measured from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface.

I'm trying to get my truck a mini spool today and I can't figure out which rear end I have I have a 90 S10 automatic two-wheel drive Blazer I'm pretty sure it's 7 and 1/2 in by what you say but is it a 26 or 28spline how do I know which mini spool

I had a 95 s10, with a auto and posi track, 3.42 , I think, and would not hit 2nd gear till 45 mph.and yes it was a special order, from Alpena mi. Yes, 8.5 inch and would smoke the tires all the way through 1st gear and then lock and chirp 2nd. Car was made in Shreveport Louisiana. Long bed standard cab LS WITH AC AND 15 INCH ALLOY WHEELS.. rated at 210 hp.

You are wrong I have a 99 Chevy Blazer 4 door LT with a g80 rear end and 3.42 gearing. L35 vin code W with the 4l60e.

I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer LS 4X4 4 Door 4 Disc Brake and I talked to Bill Gatton Chevrolet and they claim I have a 8.5/8.625 based on my VIN, but I'm not a hundred percent sure on that because it doesn't look like a circle to me, but I could be wrong I really need help on this to really determine if I have 7.5/7.625 or 8.5/8.625.

95 s10 2.2. stickshift?

I've owned an 84 S10 Blazer base manual 4x4 and an 88 S10 Blazer Sport auto 4x4 (my favorite of all time) and after 20 years I just recently found an 88 S10 Blazer Tahoe 4x4 with 120k original miles. I had to spend a small fortune rebuilding the 2.8 motor but after 3 months of waiting I get to pick it up this week. That will mark one of the happiest days of my life. I have really missed my 88's. To those that have never owned one, they just don't understand.

Is it possible to infer how many splines are there in my axle, considering its a 95 Sonoma 4.3 high output 4-speed auto (therefore not 8.5 rear) and 3.08 ratio (as per rpo code gu4)? I am looking for a locker, I understood rearend is a 7.625 probably but cant figure the slipe question.
