I wanna play DEI but i have huge pathing problems. Troops cannot go around a corner. They get stuck. Its so annoying, i cant even fight siege battles. Idk why this problem exists after 10 years of this mod.

You have to pick a faction from your own 'C' Tier list for your next DEI playthrough. No more Roma and Seleucid steamrolling the map.....good luck!!

The trick with Pyrrhus was interesting, but I find that in my playthroughs, the movement range of his army is broken. That allows him to reach almost anywhere. Anyone else experiencing that?

That city battle made me feel less bad about my pikes taking losses to enemy skirmishers lol Could you give an explanation for you army composition? I am always in doubt if I should have 6 pikes, 4 pikes + 2 hoplites or 5 pikes / 2 slingers + 2 archers or just 1 slinger and 2 archers. Also, why don't you use a baggage train? In my current Epirus campaign I am using 1 cavalry general, 1 melee royal cavalry, 2 shock thessalian cavalry, 4 bronze pikes, 1 agema pike, 2 thureos spear, 2 thesprotian melee infantry, 2 peltasts, 1 slinger, 2 archers, 1 artillery and 1 baggage train. However sometimes I wonder if I should disband the 2 peltast and replace them with another pike and another slinger and have 6 pikes (5 bronze, 1 agema) and 4 skirmishers (2 slingers and 2 archers) or maybe have only 4 pikes and two hoplites, one on each flank

Why not sandwich those missile units with your cav during that ambush so they couldn’t kite away?

you'd be making about 75k a turn with 0% empire maintenance generals have a decent talent for getting -9 total% ep when stacked with like 6 genrals its pretty op but star a fresh young general so they don't die early and ruin your finances

I tried the timbe trade regions submod and the game instantly crashes when I click on my dignitary when he is deployed in a neutral region. I tried different load orders, but I can’t seem to get it working? Do you have an idea what is wrong Summary?

How are you able to confederate with Etruscia when the mod says you can’t confederate with Rome?????

I love playing the Seleucids in Rome 2 and especially DEI. Playing the failing Empire is a nice switch from playing a rising power. You have all these resources and money, but enemies on all sides, limited population and culture problems. If you survive, the reward is Silver Shields and Cataphracts which is basically all the tools needed to rule the East and some of the best provinces in easy reach. I've had the early game blow up on me though where all the Satraps turn on me, Egypt is aggressive and Galatians and Greeks in the West picking off my scraps. The victory felt earned.

Just installed the mods, Im at about the same point in the game you are, but AOR and romanized units are still being recruited from 2nd class, not 4th. Is that a feauture that you did not include in the mod?

Hello Summary, is it possible to know what filters you use for the game?

Now I know why the game feels like a grind when I play on Hard/Hard. I just started a campaign with Carthage and I manage ti conquer only Syracuse, losing Mastia and Ibossim due to a civil war I just couldn't prevent. And I'm already at turn 40, with no significant territorial gains. Yes, mistake were made, but now I have to defend Sicily against 4 roman full stacks that they didn't even use to stop Epirus invasion. Situation in Hispania is dire, because almost every tribe hates me, even if I tried to intrigue in their politics, joining wars and paying for non aggression pacts. During the war against Syracuse, I lost a battle (and I was the ambusher!) because the enemy hoplite just wouldn't rout, even tho they were completely surrounded by decent troops and elephants. This is just too much cheating to enjoy a decent campaign. I think I will restart on Normal/Normal

I don't understand why but i can't get the same start as yours. Got the same mods, same order, everything, but when i start the game i have 1k less money, a few units missing from recruitment and not the same diplomacy relations.

Love the vids! U can also acquire regions when the target faction has low positive opinion of you (like 30 it just needs to be green) and your characters have low gravitas. It can take 10-20 turns, each turn sending a character on a diplomatic mission, to acquire the region.

Great stuff - just got into DEI myself and once i worked out how to fix the performance, im loving it, and loving this channel which helps understand what the hell I need to do lol

What are the main tools, key to keep nobles happy? What can one do at the beginning of the game to avoid civil wars? Or it is same, like all you did here with nobles after becoing Empire?
