Congrats on the journal! Can't wait to get one. I tried making my own this year but ran out of steam on setting up the pages after a few months lo I keep track of all my projects in Ravelry but there's just something about writing it too that makes it special.

I just started a book club cardigan on Friday. Almost done the shoulder chart…it’s like reading another language! Lol yours is looking great. Our colours are very similar. Mine is like a bluish grey. Cascade 220

I found that knitting toe up socks helped me with the fit because you can try them on as you are knitting. I started out as a cuff down sock knitter, but once I tried toe up that’s my preferred method now. 💕

I made the Arcuate Vest a couple years ago (inspired by Kate of Red Door) and I really like it! It was my first time doing all over cables and it was a great introduction. It is bottom up and written pretty cropped though so if I knit it again I’d buy extra yarn and make it longer. I made mine in Hedgehog Tweedy so it’s my nice “neutral with a pop” piece.

I suggest that you try on some ready to wear vests to see what style you like. The styles are all over the map and the ease is also all over the map. Try them on with what you would typically wear with a vest.

I'm curious how you feel about math? I know spreadsheets make you happy so maybe math does? If so, draw the outline of your foot to figure out the number of rows. Take into account negative ease. I like doing the math because not all yarns are equal so my row gauge determines how many rows in the foot. For the cuff, a random rule of thumb I like is 1/3 the number of rows of the leg (it's gives a pleasing proportion). So 72 round leg, I'd knit a 24 row cuff, 60 round leg, 20 row cuff, 48 leg 16 cuff, etc.

I’m looking to make a vest/slipcover as well. I bought yarn for it specifically and I also cannot decide on the pattern to use! Keep us posted on what you decide!!

The Loch Ness cowl is amazing. It's going to look great, (it is already). The pink sweater is beautiful. I like the neck on the cable slipover, is so pretty. Your socks are great. (I have 15 pairs of my socks!)

I’m tempted to try the Andrea Mowry sock challenge but I can’t fathom how I’d get two socks done in a weekend! I do like the look of the pattern this year

Like you, I wasn't that into knitting socks until this year so I never did Andrea Mowry's KAL. I am going to try it this year though because I have been loving both knitting and wearing socks lately and could use the excuse to make a dent in my sock yarn stash!

Your Loch Ness Cowl is looking incredible. If one of the yarns is a bit thicker the better one is the one for the colorwork so you are fine. It could help stand out more. Blocking makes such an incredible difference on colorwork. I did a tube scarf last year in colorwork but was fingering and I was amazed with the difference once blocked. Great progress on the rest of your projects as well.

I’m doing the Oxbow Socks challenge! It’ll be my first time doing the Andrea Mowry socks in a weekend challenge. I still need to pick yarn from my stash for it, I’m so excited 😄
